Planet of Lana II: Children of the Leaf Reviews
Planet of Lana II is a confident and carefully crafted sequel that expands on the original’s cinematic puzzle adventure with smarter systems, deeper mechanics, and a more personal story. By blending machine control with Mui’s new possession abilities, the game delivers layered puzzles that grow naturally in complexity while maintaining its quiet, wordless storytelling and striking visual atmosphere. Though it occasionally loses some of the original’s sense of journey and features a few minor technical hiccups, this sequel refines what worked and builds something richer, more ambitious, and consistently rewarding for returning players.
Although it does not push the boundaries of the genre, Planet of Lana II is, above all, a beautifully crafted 2D adventure that never loses momentum or suffers a dip in quality.

Overall, Planet of Lana II: Children of the Leaf is a polished masterpiece. The way the developers guide you into creating your own storyline is such a unique feature and something different in this saturated genre. Coupled with the untamed graphics and atmosphere, if this is your genre, don’t hesitate to buy it now!

Planet of Lana II: Children of the Leaf, most importantly, shows how focused design can lead to creative ideas. Because the creators put atmosphere, art, and story first, they make something truly memorable. The game isn't the biggest or hardest of the year. It could be one of the most beautiful, though.
Planet of Lana II stays true to its original vision while carefully expanding upon it. Instead of starting over, Wishfully tweaks it all while addressing critiques of the first game and delivering a more varied, more in-depth experience without sacrificing its familiarity and fitting charm. The added mobility, more layered puzzles, and greater variety in environments help the sequel feel more dynamic overall. Anyone who enjoys thoughtful platforming puzzles wrapped in a cinematic, emotionally driven story will find much to appreciate in Planet of Lana II.
Planet of Lana II: Children of the Leaf is a visually and emotionally powerful adventure that intelligently expands upon what captivated us in the first installment, offering well-designed puzzles, an intimate narrative, and richer cooperation between Lana and Mui than ever before. Its compact length and familiar formula don't detract from its charm; instead, they reinforce a solid and focused experience that we enjoyed from beginning to end. It's a title that shines thanks to its aesthetics, soundtrack, and level design, and it leaves a lasting impression even after the game is over.

Planet of Lana 2 follows in the footsteps of the first instalment, proving to be a solid, inspired, moving and artistically valuable sequel. The strength of this single-player adventure lies in the variety of puzzles and the constant alternation of characters and elements controllable by the player, who must necessarily think on several fronts to bring the two protagonists to safety. A beautiful, short adventure for delicate souls.

Planet of Lana II: Children of the Leaf is exactly what you want from a sequel: it takes a solid foundation, keeps the heart and soul completely intact, and layers on smarter, more varied mechanics to make for a beautiful puzzle adventure. I can’t recommend it enough, and whether you were a fan of the original or a complete newcomer, you’re going to have a blast from start to end.
Planet of Lana II: Children of the Leaf is a short but extremely sweet adventure that fans of the first game should dive into. With improvements across the board, it offers a cohesive experience brought together by platforming and puzzles that tickle the brain and provide satisfaction after all is said and done.
For those who have already experienced the first game, the recommendation is immediate. Coordinating Lana and Mui has never felt so satisfying, the puzzles strike a well-balanced level of challenge, encouraging thoughtful problem-solving without becoming frustrating, and the narrative delivers powerful moments, especially in its most emotional twists. For newcomers, if you appreciate heartfelt adventures with a strong visual identity and a focus on atmosphere, it is well worth discovering Planet of Lana.

Planet of Lana II is a very conservative sequel—not in an absolute sense, but in the aspects that "matter." The technical and artistic leap is undeniable, but mechanically there's little interesting evolution for such a small team, and narratively, the strength of the first game becomes an ironic weakness here. It certainly doesn't fall short of the first, in my eyes, but, like Mui with Lana, it's close, faithful.

Planet of Lana 2 improves upon its predecessor in every way, bringing an engaging story to its forefront with puzzles that amaze and excite throughout.
I played the original and didn’t know how they could better it. Amazingly, Planet of Lana II goes one step further. The lore, characters, settings, and puzzles are fascinating, interesting, and a joy to experience. Moreover, the pacing is brilliant, and the core mechanics never outstay their welcome. Accordingly, it is a breath of fresh air, and you must get a copy from the Xbox store!
The peaceful life of Lana and Mui is truncated by an invasion; on a journey as precious as it is relevant, we will have to save both our new adventure companion and our entire community.

Planet of Lana 2 is a beautiful game, with a clear message delivered without softening the edges.
Planet of Lana II triumphs in its world-building as players discover more and more about Lana’s home planet, Novo, and the different factions of people that live there. While I found some of the puzzles to be frustrating, I was so enamored by its story that I found myself wanting to go back for more as soon as the game closed out. Developer Wishfully’s ability to tell a story without any lines of dialogue is unmatched, and if you loved the first Planet of Lana, its sequel is an improvement in almost every way.

Planet of Lana 2 is yet another stellar indie platformer that stands out and is a must-play for everyone into creative-yet-testy brain-teasing adventure titles. Even its "short" runtime doesn't hinder the fact that you'll come out all the more enlightened out of this out-of-this-world (heh) experience.
