Super Meat Boy 3D Reviews
For fans of brutally-tough platforming, this 3D incarnation of everyone’s favorite bloody glob of meat more than delivers, with plenty of variety, secrets, and maybe some periodic crying…
The return to the original gameplay style, combined with its transition into the third dimension, works well and provided us with a lot of fun. Unfortunately, we didn’t always find the difficulty level well balanced, and some levels even felt a bit too easy, especially the boss fights. However, those who aim to complete all achievements and experience everything the game has to offer will still find enough challenge, even as hardcore fans.

Super Meat Boy 3D isn't a bad game, but it is an inferior one.

Super Meat Boy 3D is constantly challenging players with increasingly difficult levels. It does take some getting used to in the new dimension but with the adapted controls and dropshadow it works out way better than expected. While the boss fights relying on trial and error aren't necessarily the best moments, these are being kept to a minimum. The game represents a remarkable evolution of the core gameplay from 2010 and I really enjoyed it. Super Meat Boy 3D is Super Meat Boy. Only this time in 3D. And that's probably the highest praise one can give the game.

I screamed, I shouted, I cursed the developers’ mothers dozens of times. Super Meat Boy 3D did what it needed to do with honors. But I never wanted to quit in frustration. The game knew how to motivate me, to make me want to attempt one more try, even if some levels felt impossible, and the boss battles were the absolute bane of my existence. All in all, a mostly smooth transition from 2D side-scrolling, to a 3D, semi freeforming format.
