Whether you should invest in the first CoD on a Nintendo platform for over a decade comes down to the old Switch port chestnuts: Do you own another platform, and how much do you value portability? Call of Duty veterans who have followed closely its highs and lows over the last decade could probably knock a point off the score below; you likely won't be as wowed by MW4's sheer spectacle, but you should definitely play it somewhere. For anyone with a Switch 2 who's been waiting a long time to answer the Call, though, this is an excellent demonstration of why this crusty series still matters to so many. It's a bold, bombastic shooter, and it's now running very well on Nintendo hardware, day-and-date with other platforms. Oorah, indeed.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 boasts the series most well-rounded experience. Excellent outings for campaign, multiplayer, and the outstanding DMZ mode come together to make for a strong Modern Warfare entry, and possibly the best of the reboot series. Infinity Ward has found their magic again – this is how you evolve a long-running franchise.

MW4 ain't perfect but it gets the fundamentals so right that IW's conservatism starts looking less like a lack of ambition and more like a much-needed intervention. The campaign delivers proper spectacle, DMZ generates the sort of unscripted chaos that makes you forget what time it is, and MP finally remembers that a shootout should be decided by who's better with a gat, not who's better at off-the-wall interpretive dance. The matchmaking and map/spawn issues need squelching, but they're blemishes on an otherwise superb package.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 might be the closing of a chapter but it is closing on a series high. Both its campaign and multiplayer are a callback to beloved eras but in DMZ, Infinity Ward has potentially found a new permanent mode players will get lost in.

Back on track, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 recovers from previous stumbles (mainly in MW3 and BO7) and, in a safe and steady manner without any major surprises, delivers an exciting campaign, truly engaging modes for both single-player and multiplayer, spectacular graphics and sound, and the same precise and satisfying gameplay as always. It doesn’t take any risks, but it’s undoubtedly the best game in the series in a decade-and possibly one of the best CoD games of all time.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 marks a triumphant comeback, delivering one of the best campaigns in years, meaningful improvements to DMZ, and exactly the return to the classic multiplayer feel that fans have been waiting for. While the mix of two parallel storylines doesn’t always quite come together, and the new multiplayer maps occasionally lack variety, the game otherwise delivers the kind of entry the series has been missing. For fans of the franchise, this is finally a Call of Duty title they can buy without a second thought.

Very good opus than this Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4. Spectacular, giving choice in his multiplayer without necessarily renewing himself too much. The DMZ mode will convince some players, the others will return to the classic modes that also bring their novelties. You should not be disappointed.

Modern Warfare 4 closes Price’s saga with a grounded, well-paced campaign, even if a wasted villain and shaky enemy AI keep it from greatness.

Could Modern Warfare 4 have been a bit more bold and daring? Perhaps, but the end result is one of the most rock solid Call of Duty games ever made, one that anyone even slightly interested in this franchise should really consider playing. Infinity Ward knocked it out of the park with this one, and I can see myself losing countless hours to this game throughout its life cycle.

Modern Warfare 4 brings almost a decade of storytelling to a climactic conclusion with its amazing set pieces, strong performances, and surprising moral choices. A new and improved DMZ mode will bring newcomers and series veterans back for more, and multiplayer is as energetic and engaging as ever. Despite the short campaign length, there is a lot of content on offer here that Call of Duty fans can sink their teeth into.

While the campaign of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 isn’t storytelling perfection, it gives fans a long-awaited taste of that classic Call of Duty experience. Furthermore, learning from the previous installment's mistakes, the DMZ mode has improved by leaps and bounds. On the downside, the direction of the multiplayer mode at launch feels puzzling and raises some eyebrows.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 finally delivers the return to its roots that I've been waiting for for so many years! With a spectacular single-player campaign, a storyline worthy of a true Hollywood blockbuster, interesting narrative choices, and incredibly satisfying gameplay, this installment has completely won me over. I loved being immersed once again in that intense military atmosphere, enhanced by stunning graphics, excellent French voice acting, and outstanding PC optimization. Despite a few imperfections and a campaign lasting around six hours that unfortunately comes to an end far too quickly for my liking, I had an absolute blast playing through this adventure. For me, Modern Warfare 4 undoubtedly features one of the best single-player campaigns the franchise has delivered in a very long time. An absolute favorite that I wholeheartedly recommend to Call of Duty fans and anyone who enjoys story-driven military shooters.

Many Call of Duty campaigns have struggled to hold my attention for very long, so much so that I had to do previous games in short sessions. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4’s campaign delivered a memorable, superbly polished experience, which I finished in around eight hours, in one go. Throughout the campaign, I felt like I was living through a cinematic movie and interacting with it. I can confidently say that I haven’t seen anything that looks as stunning as this game on an Xbox Series X yet, and recent games like Gears of War E-Day have also blown me away. If you’re on the fence about Call of Duty this year, let me tell you that even the campaign alone is seriously impressive. This is without the rest of the package to come, which continues with DMZ on the 20th October 2026, online multiplayer on the 23rd October 2026 and Warzone to follow in November. That said, I am definitely diving in for a second attempt at the story on realism mode. If you want to secure your copy of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 with the Standard or Vault edition, you can grab it HERE. From the frontline to the shadows, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 has delivered a thrilling dual-perspective campaign that reminds us why Call of Duty remains gaming’s blockbuster king, simply stunning!

I went into Modern Warfare 4 expecting another tired chapter of a reboot that had lost its way, and I came out of it with a campaign I’ll be thinking about for a long time. Infinity Ward didn’t reinvent Call of Duty here; it took everything the series does best, the shooting, the set pieces and the cinematic storytelling, and pushed each of them further than ever before.
