One Piece: Grand Gourmet Reviews
Overall, ONE PIECE: Grand Gourmet is a delightful surprise among the franchise’s video game adaptations, offering an addictive and charming management experience packed with fan service, pixel art, over 400 characters, and carefully crafted themed dishes and decorations. However, its potential is held back by technical and usability issues, including a confusing interface, intrusive pop-ups, a fixed camera, and cumbersome decorating controls. Despite these flaws, the game remains a fun and personality-filled experience, giving One Piece fans the joy of seeing unlikely characters interact over Sanji’s recipes while offering management game enthusiasts a warm and entertaining adventure.

ONE PIECE: Grand Gourmet is exactly what it needed to be. It’s charming, fun, and as a massive fan of all things ONE PIECE, it feels like a game I’ve always dreamed of playing.
ONE PIECE: Grand Gourmet cooks up a meal that satiates my hunger for a good management sim and keeps me coming back for more. While the game occasionally serves up more mechanics than I can comfortably digest, there’s still plenty of fun in building the restaurant up into a treasure trove for its guests. ONE PIECE: Grand Gourmet looks to be a feast for fans of One Piece and casual management-sim enthusiasts, although those looking for a truly cosy experience might find themselves with a little too much on their plate.
Most of the fun was found in Grand Gourmet's fan service, getting to feed old friends and watch them interact with each other in amusing or unexpected ways had me smiling even past the credits. But unless you’re an established fan of One Piece, there’s no rush to climb aboard for this culinary voyage.
ONE PIECE: Grand Gourmet is a charming management sim that, despite some clunky quirks, will put a smile on any One Piece fan's face.
At its core, One Piece: Grand Gourmet is an extremely niche title that will only appeal to two specific types of people: die-hard One Piece fans and fans of restaurant simulators. Anybody who fits into those categories will find countless hours of enjoyment with this cosy game, as it achieves everything it sets out to do, resulting in a surprisingly engaging experience that not only is brimming with content but also rewards players who are extremely knowledgeable about this long-running series. Despite a few minor technical issues (which will most likely be patched out soon), this is still a refreshing anime-based game that stands out from its competition.
One Piece: Grand Gourmet is a dish with widespread appeal, serving as a great palate cleanser between this season's heavy hitters.
For longtime One Piece fans craving a cozy, low-stakes adventure with their anime faves, Grand Gourmet is an easy recommendation.
I have spent years reading One Piece and an unreasonable amount of time playing Kairosoft games, so this was always going to be an easy sell for me. If somebody announced One Piece: Tax Administration Story and told me Kairosoft was developing it, I would probably still want to try it once it releases. Thankfully, Grand Gourmet is more than a pile of references. The restaurant management is strong enough to stand on its own, while the One Piece material gives me even more reason to keep playing. It can get a little too crowded at times, but after all those Kairosoft games I played in 2021, this feels like the one I was waiting for.
One Piece: Grand Gourmet is a fun and lighthearted little treat for fans, though the colorful visuals and tasty dishes ultimately can't quite mask the game's repetitive nature.

One Piece: Grand Gourmet brings the Straw Hat crew into the kitchen with genuine fan service and over four hundred characters to welcome to the table; however, in terms of gameplay, it merely rehashes the Kairosoft formula without taking any risks. With a design so clearly rooted in mobile gaming, it struggles to justify its price point on consoles, ultimately serving as a pleasant pastime aimed primarily at fans.

ONE PIECE: Grand Gourmet finds its own identity by transforming the Straw Hat Pirates' adventures into a management experience with creative ways of leveraging the characters' personalities, the importance of food, and the diversity of places and relationships that make up the universe created by Eiichiro Oda.

ONE PIECE: Grand Gourmet is a charming restaurant management game that shines through its collecting aspect, its many unlockable items, and its huge cast of familiar One Piece characters. Building up your own restaurant and constantly unlocking new content is genuinely fun, and the pixel look suits the relaxed pace well. However, the gameplay turns monotonous quite quickly: recurring tasks and a thin story run out of steam in longer sessions, and the concept at times feels like a mobile game that lacks depth and variety. If you enjoy collecting and want an uncomplicated game for short sessions, you can have a good time here, but it never fully lives up to its potential.

Running a restaurant with the One Piece crew proves to be an addictive management loop, with expeditions, character relationships and pixel art giving Grand Gourmet plenty of personality. Clumsy menus and localisation errors spoil the experience in places, but there's a satisfying business to build here.
ONE PIECE: Grand Gourmet is clearly designed for players who enjoy building up a restaurant, discovering dishes and seeing their favourite characters appear in a charming pixel art style. Unfortunately, the One Piece universe couldn’t save me this time. To me, the game feels too much like a mobile game, and the story failed to captivate me sufficiently. Goodness me, even with Sanji at the stove, I couldn’t quite stomach this meal. For fans of restaurant management games, this might be a tasty dish, but for me, the plate remains largely untouched.

A generally light and fun mix of characters from the franchise, food, and management sim elements that works well
It’s a different kind of idea that more famous franchises should try. It was refreshing to see a lighthearted alternative in a saturated gaming market—a market that typically focuses solely on quick profits by leveraging well-known characters.

ONE PIECE fans will find a fun time waster in Grand Gourmet. It’s got excellent visuals and it stays very much true to the long-running pirate series; a casual game that will burn up precious time if you so need it gone.
Capturing the world of One Piece in a restaurant building game is a challenge; however, it was executed flawlessly and everyone is fully identifiable with their manga counterpart. It can definitely feel overwhelming in the late game and gets more repetitive with the actions, but the game is charming and an entertaining experience for fans. An experience that is best suited for people who are caught up with the anime with some of the best pixel art food I've seen in a game.
One Piece: Grand Gourmet delivers a bittersweet experience packed with fan service. The idea of managing Sanji's restaurant and interacting with over 400 pixel-art characters works remarkably well, guaranteeing hours of fun. However, the rigid, mobile-inherited interface and technical flaws weigh down the experience. If you are a fan of One Piece looking for a casual simulator, the journey is well worth it, especially on the Nintendo Switch 2, which offers the best usability for the title.
