At its core, One Piece: Grand Gourmet is an extremely niche title that will only appeal to two specific types of people: die-hard One Piece fans and fans of restaurant simulators. Anybody who fits into those categories will find countless hours of enjoyment with this cosy game, as it achieves everything it sets out to do, resulting in a surprisingly engaging experience that not only is brimming with content but also rewards players who are extremely knowledgeable about this long-running series. Despite a few minor technical issues (which will most likely be patched out soon), this is still a refreshing anime-based game that stands out from its competition.

ONE PIECE fans will find a fun time waster in Grand Gourmet. It’s got excellent visuals and it stays very much true to the long-running pirate series; a casual game that will burn up precious time if you so need it gone.

Capturing the world of One Piece in a restaurant building game is a challenge; however, it was executed flawlessly and everyone is fully identifiable with their manga counterpart. It can definitely feel overwhelming in the late game and gets more repetitive with the actions, but the game is charming and an entertaining experience for fans. An experience that is best suited for people who are caught up with the anime with some of the best pixel art food I've seen in a game.

One Piece: Grand Gourmet delivers a bittersweet experience packed with fan service. The idea of managing Sanji's restaurant and interacting with over 400 pixel-art characters works remarkably well, guaranteeing hours of fun. However, the rigid, mobile-inherited interface and technical flaws weigh down the experience. If you are a fan of One Piece looking for a casual simulator, the journey is well worth it, especially on the Nintendo Switch 2, which offers the best usability for the title.

One Piece: Grand Gourmet is one of the coolest ideas ever brought to life in the world of anime-based games. After all, what One Piece fan hasn't dreamed of running their own Baratie? With gorgeous pixel art, highly satisfying progression and gameplay systems, and tons upon tons of content, this game deserves a Michelin star, both for Oda's devoted followers and anyone who loves the Straw Hat Pirates.

One Piece: Grand Gourmet takes the best parts of Kairosoft’s game design and One Piece’s neverending world and combines them into a truly delightful dish. Aside from a couple of small translation trip-ups, the game is a blast to take in. As someone who’s loved One Piece for almost as long as I’ve been alive, I've been pleasantly surprised by this and have struggled to put it down. Kairosoft gets what makes a sim game truly fun, and it mixes that fun with the whimsy and silliness of One Piece in a brilliant way.

"A Different Kind of Experience in the World of One Piece" ONE PIECE: Grand Gourmet offers an enjoyable restaurant management experience for fans of the series, leveraging a diverse cast of characters, a wide array of recipes and decorations, and a distinctive pixel-art style. However, the simplicity of the narrative, limited strategic depth, and certain technical and audio shortcomings hold back its full potential. Consequently, it is better suited for fans of casual management games than for those seeking an in-depth simulation or a robust, story-driven adventure.
