While the era of the 2010s Akihabara people may be dwindling, STEINS; GATE RE: BOOT manages to recapture and preserve their nostalgia in a great way. It stands shoulder to shoulder with its original counterpart for the most part. It remains one of the best visual novels ever made. While the cut content may upset some of the older fans, it greatly improves the pacing for the new audiences. Still, considering its hefty price, you can consider buying this at launch if you are a diehard fan or waiting for a sale.
Steins;Gate RE:BOOT, even in its new and revamped version, remains a high-quality visual novel that handles the theme of time travel in an innovative and believable way. At times, however, it feels a little too much like a scientific lecture, and it could do a better job of clearly showing the player how their decisions affect the story.

Whether you're stepping into the Future Gadget Lab for the very first time or returning after years watching just the anime, this remake captures everything that made Steins;Gate unforgettable. It's not a perfect remake, but it's easily now the definitive way to experience one of gaming's finest science-fiction stories.
STEINS;GATE REBOOT brings sharp new art and presentation to an already classic sci-fi story. While some wrinkles in the presentation might upset longtime fans, this is an incredible way to experience one of the best time travel stories in gaming.

STEIN'SGATE RE:BOOT is good because STEINS;GATE as a story is, but doesn't make a great case as a remake. It has beautiful backgrounds but mixed characters.
STEINS;GATE's place in the medium hardly needs explaining. It has long since established itself as one of the most successful visual novels ever made. With STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT completely remaking the original using modern technology, there was little reason to expect much in the way of new content. All it really needed to do was preserve as much of the original experience as possible. Fortunately, STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT does a pretty good job of that, at least more so than STEINS;GATE ELITE.

Whatever the reason, Re:Boot is the definitive edition of a true giant of the visual novel genre. As long as you can get along with the tweaked art direction, I doubt you’re going to have any complaints with Re:Boot.
Steins;Gate Re:Boot is an acceptable but not particularly exciting remake of Steins;Gate Elite. There's enough new content to make it an easy recommendation for anyone who's curious about the franchise, but it's not enough to make it especially compelling for long-term fans. The updated visuals give the game a more modern look, but that comes at the cost of some of the personality and flavor of the original. If you're looking for a heady, convoluted sci-fi story with some neat bits of interactivity, Steins;Gate Re:Boot is worth a shot. For anyone who already owns a previous version, there's little reason to rush out and buy it again.
Its successful visual refresh helps make this the best version of the game, even if its narrative adjustments are on the subtle end. There’s no denying that Steins;Gate remains just as superb as it was originally, and Steins;Gate Re:Boot is a strong reminder of just how good its narrative, centered on time-travel and cause-and-effect, is.
STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT revitalizes a timeless science-fiction classic with stunning new visuals, memorable characters, and a gripping time-travel story that remains as compelling as ever.

All this to say that Steins;Gate Re:Boot is by no means essential, but fans will be happy to see it released. Obviously, the main reason is that it makes the game more accessible by bringing it to new consoles. The additions, while interesting, aren’t necessary at all and add very little to the final product. But the bottom line remains: Steins;Gate is undoubtedly the best visual novel ever made—even today, 17 years after its initial release. Here’s hoping it will be discovered by those who haven’t yet experienced the adventure. And for that reason alone, the game is worth it.

Whether you're a veteran fan or a newcomer to the franchise, STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT is a great choice. Steins;Gate was already one of my favourite visual novels. After spending all these years with it, I didn’t necessarily need another reason to love it. Somehow, Re:Boot gave me one anyway.
Seventeen years have passed since its first release, but the value of Steins;Gate remains practically untouchable. STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT, unfortunately, fails to be its best incarnation.

Steins;Gate remains my favourite VN and one of my favourite time travel stories. For fans of that particular sub-genre of fiction, Re:Boot is an essential play and the new features add to the experience for both newcomers and long-time fans alike.
Steins;Gate RE:BOOT is one of the more intriguing visual novels that I have gotten to experience. It makes you think, makes you question choice, and makes you ponder how your own actions can reverberate outwards. This complex and rich story, coupled with some unique styling designs, will be a major sell to those looking to revisit this series. But if you are new to the visual novel universe, this one might be too convoluted (or too pricey) to gamble on.
