Graveyard Keeper 2 is a no-brainer for cozy gamers who want a sense of challenge and fulfilment when completing the parts of a life sim that make you come back for more — the cozy part.
Graveyard Keeper 2 is a fantastic sequel that delivers in almost every way. It's got some serious upgrades from the original, but more than that, the overarching story is phenomenal. While some of the old-school design choices make the game a little obtuse, the game still has a lot to offer. If you're looking for a dark, cozy game to take the hours away, then Graveyard Keeper 2 is for you.
There’s probably an audience for Graveyard Keeper 2, the kinds of people who achieve fulfillment from spreadsheets and min/maxing every ounce of video game they ever lay hands on. That’s descriptive; I’ve met people like that.
I can’t wait to spend more time with Graveyard Keeper 2. It truly feels like a natural continuation of the original game with additional mechanics (I didn’t even mention the battle events!) alongside familiar ones. Make sure you say hi to Larry the Skull and the Donkey too! A beautiful life sim game with an insane amount of depth, it couldn’t be anything less than the Thumb Culture Platinum Award.
Graveyard Keeper 2 is recommended because it successfully expands significantly upon the formula without losing the essence of its predecessor. Cemetery management remains the core pillar, but a wealth of additional content has been added—including zombies, which open up all sorts of possibilities. It can feel overwhelming and confusing at first, but once you grasp how the systems work, it becomes highly entertaining. Ultimately, it is a bigger, more ambitious sequel that offers hours of enjoyment.

Graveyard Keeper 2 is a bigger and more ambitious version of the original, expanding its graveyard management formula with automation, zombie assistants, town restoration, and combat. Its interconnected systems create a satisfying gameplay loop as you manage the graveyard, gather resources, unlock technologies, improve your character, and gradually automate your operation. However, the lack of handholding can make the early hours frustrating and overwhelming, while returning players may find that many of the core mechanics remain familiar from the first game. Despite these shortcomings, Graveyard Keeper 2 successfully builds upon its predecessor with enough meaningful additions to make the experience worthwhile, especially for fans of the original.
I had a blast playing Graveyard Keeper 2, and I'll keep playing it even after I finish this review. That said, the second installment definitely isn't for everyone.

Graveyard Keeper 2 is a sequel that knows how to build on the foundations of the original, even if it doesn’t quite shake off a few quirks. The ambitious tower defence mechanics and automation features are welcome additions and help cement the game’s personality, which retains its characteristic charm and dark humour. Despite the sometimes exhausting micromanagement and a few bugs, Graveyard Keeper 2 is a fun and addictive life sim for those who enjoy watching a well-oiled machine in action.

Graveyard Keeper II is a solid, ambitious, and honest sequel: it fixes the original’s major flaws and expands the content without betraying its tone, yet it certainly could have been more daring.

Graveyard Keeper 2 was a pleasant surprise for me. I was really expecting something interesting, and I believe the game succeeds in most of what it sets out to do, even if certain elements aren't as deep or explained as they could be for a more consistent experience.
