The series signature humour and gameplay fits perfectly with Star Wars, after all, it's what it was originally designed for! The new features add enough to keep this long-running franchise feeling fresh, the stages are short and fun, fitting perfectly to the handheld for pick up and put down gameplay. In conclusion: a great addition to TT Games' magnum opus.
However minor the various issues may seem, LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens is a worthy addition to the LEGO Star Wars videogame franchise. Even though the gameplay mechanic feels a little bit dated, and is still susceptible to a plethora of mechanical glitches and rough controls, this latest adventure is a refreshing take on the ever-expanding galaxy that is Star Wars. With new locations and characters taken from the movie itself, with a booming soundtrack to back it up and plenty of humour thrown in, this LEGO adventure is a must-buy for any fans of either LEGO or Star Wars, and is definitely one that should be experienced with another player, if possible.
At the end of the day, it's a little hard to review LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens, because it feels less like a standalone game and more like a very robust expansion pack for the LEGO series as a whole. There's nothing wrong with the formula, and no reason to fix it, but if you've played one LEGO game, you've kind of played them all.
While the story is a little linear and straightforward, the bonus missions make up for it with untold tales and new voicework. Like with seemingly every Lego game, if you're not into the source material, buyer beware. But if you're into Star Wars and want to relive the thrill of The Force Awakens, this is the best way to do so.

Aside from these bothersome technical hiccups and an overall feeling that what's here would possibly be better suited to a trilogy-spanning release (or at least waiting to include content from the upcoming Rogue One film), Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens is an infectious joy. The franchise-in-Lego concept is a little long in the tooth at this point, but for those who have taken a break from TT's nostalgia-baiting charm-fests or anyone who classes themselves as an ardent Star Wars-aholic, there is more than enough block-busting action and nudge-and-wink chortles here to please both young and old alike. However, like the film did last holiday season, few series can capture that imagination as that of Star Wars, and its LEGO rendition offers that and more with plenty to enjoy from its charming take on the latest film. Like the endless possibilities that its toys have offered, LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens captures the heart and humor of Star Wars in a world where we can build Rey's story to (almost our own liking), and shows the Force is indeed still strong with the series.
Like Darth Vader and Obi Wan Kenobi, things come full circle as the property that started it all serves up one of the more enjoyable entries in Traveller's Tales' ongoing LEGO franchise. Admittedly, some annoying glitches scuttle the experience at times. Overall, however, new mechanics combined with nice set pieces and the classic LEGO touch make LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens the best title in the series in a while.

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens is a much needed boost for the series. After Dimensions launched I thought all the standalone games would more or less be phoned in, but that is definitely not the case here. This has me excited for the next LEGO game, something I have not been able to say for years.
Despite its age, TT Games continues to breathe new life into the LEGO franchise each year and brings both new and old fans in for some block-tastic action.
As it is, the new combat and puzzle mechanics keep things fresh, while the lure of new stories set around The Force Awakens is hard to resist. Love the Lego games and The Force Awakens? You know what to do.
As authentic as it gets, LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens is 100% fan service. With new voice work from the cast, and the signature TT Games style, the only thing we can hope for in their next outing is a cleaner execution, and some new features to play with. The tried-and-true formula still works, but it's time to shake things up.
Rather than coming out right at the release of the movie itself, LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens has arrived at the perfect time for fans to not only relive the events of the movie, but do so with that signature LEGO style.

Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens is amongst the best games from either franchise. While the story of a single film has been noticeably stretched out, there's still plenty of content here for fans to enjoy, and the new additions to the Lego formula help to keep things fresh despite so much familiarity.
The Force is clearly strong with TT Fusion.
