God Eater 2: Rage Burst’s gameplay is driven by a bevy of missions, some great enemies and a variety of different, interesting loadouts to help make the experience fun and somewhat deep. The shortcomings are outweighed by these positives, though those shortcomings come in the form of linear landscapes, plain graphics and difficult controls. Regardless, Shift did a good job overall.
All in all, the battle system of God Eater 2: Rage Burst is much more refined and smooth compared to Resurrection. Furthermore, your AI companions are actually dependable in an intense fight. These points coupled with the deep weapon customization and interesting characters makes God Eater 2: Rage Burst successful in making its mark in the growing genre of monster hunting games. Now if only they took more chances when making it stand out among the game’s previous entries…

In the end, God Eater 2: Rage Burst is a good adventure game that remains accessible for genre newcomers, and the wide variety of weapons and power-ups ensures that you'll find your favorite style rather quickly. The fights aren't overly strategic, but you are rewarded if you know the weaknesses of monsters you're facing; there are tons of these fights, and each is rather short unless you pump up the difficulty. The story could be better, and it would have been nice if the online community were more active. Those coming fresh off of God Eater: Resurrection won't find much of a difference. God Eater 2 is solid enough that it comes as an easy recommendation for PC players looking for that Monster Hunter fix yet weren't quite sold on Toukiden: Kiwami.
A good hunting game, deserving of being put up there with Monster Hunter. Too Bad it seems to shy away from the seriousness of its own dark setting by putting on the front unrealistic and unlikeable characters.

Das Bundle aus God Eater Rage Burst 2 und Resurrection bietet zwar einiges an Spielzeit für Monster-Jäger, aber wird wohl nur Hardcore Fans überzeugen können. Die technische Überarbeitung der originalen Versionen sind absolut gelungen, aber die Titel kämpfen immer noch mit denselben Schwächen und vor allem Rage Burst 2 liefert zu wenig neues um sich vom Vorgänger genug abzuheben. Wer kein Problem damit hat, hunderte Stunden simple Monster-Aufträge zu erfüllen, wird mit den beiden Titeln auf jeden Fall glücklich.

God Eater 2: Rage Burst is worth checking out for fans of the first game, as it essentially offers more of that game with just enough to shake things up a little. Every pro and con found in the first game can more or less be applied to this one, meaning that there's nothing here to convert newcomers. Still, the game provides a good time for those looking for epic battles and not too much more.
God Eater 2: Rage Burst provides hours upon hours of monster slaying fun, but only if you have the patience to wrap your head around its overwrought progression systems. Once you've broken through the initial slog and you're confident in your God eating abilities, you'll find an addictive action RPG that's enjoyable as both a snack and as a three-course meal.
God Eater 2: Rage Burst proves that without a shadow of a doubt, the series deserves a home on the console. The great depth, compelling combat and interesting enemies provide an fantastic counterpoint to the Monster Hunter brand, while also providing an exciting new sandbox for players to explore. God Eater 2 has been a long time coming for fans of the series. Whilst the generic plot and outdated graphics bring down the game somewhat, overall the game has proven itself to be worth the wait, a highly enjoyable experience with a great co-operative mode and one which will keep you hooked for hours. Coupled with the generous bonus of the original game on top of that, Namco Bandai have provided great value for money in this package and one that comes highly recommended.

Overall the game is okay but nothing really sets it apart from other games like it. If you are a fan of the series you might want to pick it up, if not you may just want to avoid this one.

It’s the added narrative and characterisation that makes it more than just another Monster Hunter-like grindfest for better equipment to take on bigger monsters with. They even provide sunglasses, so you get to look cool while doing it all.
The PC port of the God Eater 2: Rage Burst is not too attractive in the graphics department, but delivers in the gameplay.
Repetitiveness is undoubtedly God Eater 2: Rage Burst’s biggest issue. The mission structure is repetitive, the basic combat system is repetitive, and even your actions within the hub are repetitive
While the old players will probably relive the moments of happiness they hoped for, God Eater 2: Rage Burst probably won’t attract many new fans. Even if it’s great, it’s definitely not for everyone. So we warmly recommend if it’s even possible, let someone who already played the first game lead you into this world first, instead of risking less than a mediocre impression of, deep down, one very good title.
Whenever a bullet is fired, the whole world seems to burst. It feels like someone just shot in your screen. This makes the game much of addiction.
