Shorter than any other Uncharted game, yet just as powerful and memorable

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is a great standalone entry and is exactly what you'd hope to get from the first single player expansion in the franchise. It does almost everything just as well as a full price release with great visuals, solid gameplay, and varied multiplayer. Whether or not you've played Uncharted 4, this is an adventure worth undertaking.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy succeeds on the strength of its protagonists, writing, and phenomenal depiction of India's jungles and ruins. Being in the company of Chloe and Nadine keeps its overly familiar action sequences and disappointingly empty open-world area interesting, and it regains its footing in smart puzzles and thrilling cinematic moments.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy proves that Naughty Dog doesn't need Drake to keep this series going. It's familiar in just about every respect, but given how much refinement has slowly crept up since 2007, it's cemented itself as one of the most reliable action-adventure franchises in recent years.

I like my games to have purpose, and I find The Lost Legacy to be a very purposeless game. It's fun, I enjoyed my time with it. I doubt I'll ever feel inspired to play it again, much less remember it.

"Lost Legacy" improves on "Uncharted 4," and its fresh characters give some new life to the series.

Despite the new protagonist, this game serves as a celebration of everything the Uncharted series has come to represent over a decade of mostly strong releases from Naughty Dog. And because of the new protagonist, it also offers a glimpse into what the franchise could become in the future, with some new developer leading the way. Naughty Dog did right by our memories here, and I hope that whoever takes on Uncharted next does right by them.

Forget Nathan Drake and Chloe Fraser, if you managed to bag The Lost Legacy as part of Uncharted 4's season pass then you're the real thief here. There's a staggering wealth of content to explore, the quality of which is easily on par with A Thief's End. The stakes may not be as high, but it's impossible not build a connection with Chloe and Nadine or revel in the set piece action and story surprises. As far as standalone expansions go, they don't get more epic than this.

Clocking in at around six and a half hours, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is a worthy entry in the franchise and far from a cash grab. Considering its budget price tag and the inclusion of Uncharted 4's full multiplayer suite, it's an unexpected, albeit superlative return to a franchise that's been consistently entertaining.

I've really enjoyed my time with Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, and will most likely continue to – Chloe Frazer and Nadine Ross' chemistry is fantastic, allowing for a brilliantly crafted story, excellent combat and an enthralling experience.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy honors its parentage with engaging characters and exotic landscapes, setting the stage for more of the best action gameplay out there. It's much of the same, but that's OK when “the same” is this good.

Chloe and Nadine's adventure demonstrates that the world of Uncharted can tell many other stories even without the iconic Nathan Drake. The Lost Legacy is a successful spin-off that includes the very best of the series and offer a new and interesting point of view.

With Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, Naughty Dog has once again raised the bar when it comes to cinematic action games, delivering an experience that is equal parts exhilarating and ambitious.

It might be shorter – as reflected in the price – but The Lost Legacy is a great Uncharted and a dazzling example of a studio at the top of its game. To be honest, I wouldn't have believed that Chloe and Nadine could make such fantastic, sympathetic protagonists or that Naughty Dog could stretch the formula out for another 10 hours, yet it has and I loved every minute.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy - beautifully crafted completely independent adventure, which has everything we love in the series. The game draws in an incredible maelstrom of events with exploration, puzzles, lively characters and stunning action scenes. And it's very pleasant that it was Chloe who became the main heroine of this story.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is a fun addition to the consistently solid Uncharted franchise. While this entry may be quite a bit shorter than the main numbered games, that doesn't mean the key components that constitute an Uncharted game aren't just as present. Indeed, you'll rarely see a game with this high of production values for only $39.99. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is a tight, action-packed adventure in India, and a trip well worth taking.
