Dissidia Final Fantasy NT finally brings Square Enix's handheld “what if” franchise to the big screen, and the results are pretty fantastic for those who love chaotic, high-energy combat scenarios. Unfortunately, the game can be challenging to get the hang of due to a range of factors including class differences and controls, and there's not much to do for those who prefer their gaming sessions solo. Still, for players who do click with this third Dissidia chapter, it's a heck of an experience.

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT will appeal to longtime fans of the Final Fantasy series, but anyone looking for something more will be disappointed. Its bad user interface makes its good gameplay too hard to enjoy. Though it could have been more, Dissidia Final Fantasy NT ended up being nothing more than a fan-service franchise fighter, like all the rest.

The third entry in the Dissidia franchise is a good one and fans of the franchise shouldn't miss out on this entry. With a massive roster of characters and entertaining combat, the core Dissidia mechanics are safe and sound. It's just a shame that this entry feels so bare bones, not only with its lack of game modes but in its story execution.

The combat system of Dissidia Final Fantasy NT is the natural evolution of what we played on PSP: exhilarating, impressive to see and fun to play, and it reminds us of how good is Team Ninja in developing action games. All we miss out on is everything else: few interesting game modes, cosmetic-only customisation options, and a truly messy online framework. Our honest advice? Wait and see how things will evolve in the near future.

Dissidia: Final Fantasy NT is a unique team-based fighting game based on a popular series with cute characters and beautiful music that lacks an interesting story and play modes, including playing with a friend on the same screen.

Dissidia mixes the charm of a series as beloved as Final Fantasy with a battle system that's equal parts fun and different from anything we're used to see in fighting games, but lacks in variety and modes. If you love Final Fantasy, then you'll probably love Dissidia Final Fantasy NT.

Dissidia NT is fun to play, but it could use a few tweaks that could easily come as low-effort updates along with its existing premium DLC. More modes, some UI tweaks, and combat flow upgrades would go a long way.

The Final Fantasy crossover gimmick almost feels like a distraction in what remains a uniquely innovative, but also frustratingly flawed, fighting game.

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT offers one of the biggest packages of characters and fanservice in the series but manages to steer that in the wrong direction with a questionable progression system and a overloaded UI mixed with a unexciting gameplay and leaves the game only recommendable for hardcore Final Fantasy Fans.

DISSIDIA FINAL FANTASY NT is an awesome new entry into the franchise and is also set to be a crossover with the newly announced DISSIDIA FINAL FANTASY OPERA OMNIA. The combat is fast and chaotic with 3 vs 3 action pitting 28 characters from across the realm of FINAL FANTASY. There is a lot on offer for fans new and old to the series with a lot of nostalgia mixed in – being able to fight in the fields overlooking Cornelia is awe inspiring.

Dissidia NT for PS4 is a game that loses itself in its attempt to be different. It is full of fan service and this aspect is very well done, but gameplay wise the game tends to be chaotic, disorganized and confusing. At times, when everything works out, Dissidia NT can be a really great experience, and those times show you the potential this game had if it didn't try to be so crazy and unique.

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT is a game with positive and negative points. It has a confusing gameplay in the beginning (even with its tutorial), but with dedication it becomes addictive. On the other hand, because of the three-character mechanics and if you do not have friends to play with you, it can end up being frustrating. Offline mode lacks content as well: there is an Arcade mode with a few variations and a story mode that is only advanced by playing the other modes. Finally, online mode may present lag in certain matches. In the end, like I said before, the game is very addictive: you'll want to keep playing, even if you win or lose.

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT is an arena-brawler with a beautiful roster, a confused gameplay, and lacks of a 1vs1 mode. Well-balanced, linked to eSports, has some elements that could be adapted to the casual player or the Final Fantasy fan, to make itself more complete.

Despite the negativity, Dissidia Final Fantasy NT is a beautiful game. Characters look great, the animations are fantastic and the worlds are stunning to look at. The same holds true for music, something Final Fantasy is known for, making every battle feel all the more epic. It's a shame the gameplay is so simple with few modes to play with, but if you're a massive fan of the franchise or just want a fun party fighter to play, it's a solid choice. Other than that, it's a good game, just not a great one.

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT its a really chaotic and entertaining combat game. Albeit it has notorious flaws like reduced and limited game modes, fluctuating online performance and kinda broken gameplay physics and mechanics, its a game that will fascinate all those players that give ot a chance and, specially those who are fans of the Final Fantasy series.

There's no doubt in my mind that most Final Fantasy fans will appreciate the attention to detail in regards to every character, map, costume, and weapon. I believe that Dissidia Final Fantasy NT has the potential to grow its audience if the developers evolve the game based on community feedback. Right now I think it's a bit bare bones compared to other fighters on the market, but if you're looking for a new, quirky competitive fighter to get into, you may enjoy Dissidia Final Fantasy NT a lot more than you expect.

A great homage to Final Fantasy series that may not be the best fighting game, but as it is, is an interesting and different take on the genre.

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT is a fun but confused arcade fighter. While the core gameplay is fantastic and breadth of content is commendable, the stilted story mode and unpolished AI hurt what could be a truly great game.
