With the advent of VR games, I assumed that the best experiences would, logically, be those with a first-person perspective, and as such wasn't all that interested in Moss when it was first announced. After all, how could a third-person platformer be any good when you can play games where you literally inhabit the main character?

Without a doubt, the PSVR needs more games like Moss; its use of VR prioritizes long-lasting immersion over cheap gimmicks that end as soon as they begin, and it also shows how VR tech can be used to create a more personal engagement between the player and the character (waifu simulators notwithstanding).

Moss is a wonderful example of a VR puzzle platformer, and it combines various gameplay elements with a fantastic world to really deliver something worth playing.

Moss is a charming and fun mixture of aspects of both Redwall and Neverending Story but also feels refreshingly fresh. Polyarc has managed to combine concepts from a lot of other VR games and make it all into one fun and interesting game the whole family can enjoy. The only real disappointment I have about this game is that it is so short. This is our Moss Review for the PSVR.

Even so, Moss is a quaint and (once again) comfy experience in its own right.

Starting with its world building atmosphere and simple but polished gameplay, the addition of your presence via PlayStation VR takes Moss to the next level. It is an example of how genres can grow and evolve and how our participation as the player can become more personal and connected.

For a debut game, Moss is a remarkably mature, intelligent, confident and purposeful game by Polyarc.

PSVR has found its champion, its poster child. Quill is so happy to have you join her on this journey, and the camaraderie you two create is unforgettable.

Moss in an amazing adventure that any PSVR owners should try. The first game from Polyarc Games is an inspiring fairytale that allows you to create a connection with its protagonist Quill and experience a good mix of puzzle, exploration and storytelling in a beautiful world you won't wanna leave anymore.

The PlayStation VR deserves to be thought of as a whole separate platform, and thus far that platform has been lacking in the killer games to sell it. This is the first must-have release to arrive; something truly special. Moss is an absolutely phenomenal experience; completely captivating, utterly endearing, and absolutely magical. Ghibli fans will find this closer to the works of the legendary studio than the Ni No Kuni games. Best of all, it finishes on a promise of more adventures to come and, like a bibliophile desperate for that next book, players will be left desperately wanting the next chapter in this story.

Moss is one of the best reasons yet to buy a PlayStation VR and, if you already own one, you owe it to yourself to add the book of Moss to your library.

A charming game that is probably the best use of PSVR so far, with a nice variety of locations and decent puzzles and action, marred only by some tracking issues and a short running time.

Moss ranks among games that were developed for VR not only for the effect, but to utilize it as a gameplay tool. This unique experience has only been spoiled by the short gameplay time.

While Moss is a short adventure, it's one filled with awe and wonder. The storytelling is superb with brilliant writing and a great atmosphere. The gameplay while basic is so much fun that you will never want to stop playing this game. If you have a PlayStation VR you need to pick up this game, Moss is a masterpiece that is going to go down in the history books for the first game of this genre to work and play well in VR.

Moss is yet another great example of how Virtual Reality can enhance traditional game genres, whether they are first person or third person games. Creating such a dynamic and creative exploration of the environment, as well as establishing a strong connection with Quill in such an immersive and engaging way are qualities that only Virtual Reality could provide. A sequel, bigger and as good as this first volume of Moss, is more than obligatory.

Moss is a gorgeous virtual reality experience that combines the eloquence of a theatrical play, the cuteness of smaller-sized subjects and making their scale feel grander, and the enjoyment of playing video games. I have never experienced something quite like Moss, and although it is partially due to the VR headset, it's more than equally due to how the developers used the technology to create a genuinely enjoyable experience. Moss is probably my favorite VR game yet, and I'd expect that sentiment to be echoed by many others.

Moss and Moss: Book II are exemplary virtual reality titles. The visual design, levels and characters are awesome, and this implementation increases the immersion through new control methods and greater player interactions. With PS VR2, the increased detail and fluidity is also excellent news for those who struggle with VR comfort. Without any doubt, this series is highly recommended to all who have a PS VR2 device.
