The Spyro Reignited Trilogy is the best way players have to experience the first three entries in the Spyro the Dragon series. The remasters are extremely faithful to the originals, with a couple of additions and smoother controls that make all three games a joy to play. Sadly, some technical issues prevent the Trilogy from being the best remaster ever released, but it's definitely close to it.

One more on the list of great remakes, faithful in almost every way to the original trilogy, fun, extremely replayable and a great opportunity for anyone to meet this character for the first time, or to fall in love again, perfect to commemorate the 20 years of dragon life.

Spyro Reignited Trilogy is another proof that if you carefully recreate an older game, you can create a title that's able to enthrall even modern gamers. With Spyro it's even more so, because even back when it was first released, it was already more modern than Spyro's colleague Crash Bandicoot. Give Spyro a chance and he will reward you with hours of great fun.

A consistent triple whammy of 3D collectathon platforming remade with extreme care and faithfulness to the original material. Spyro Reignited Trilogy plays well, looks fantastic, and is rarely an overwhelming or difficult set of adventures, with small worlds that are simple to conquer and ideal for a younger audience. By the time of the third game, things are a little more gimmicky, and there is a repetitive nature about the constant running around and collecting, but these colourful platformers still manage to deliver real delight if you try not to blast through each game one after the other.

Spyro Reignited Trilogy, sure keeps the main mechanics of the first three games and adds fancy graphics with intense remastered soundtracks.

Spyro Reignited Trilogy retains the magic of what made the franchise such a hit in the late 90s and early 2000s. There’s a timelessness that lives in the core of the Spyro games, proving that the franchise can easily contend with other big names in the nostalgia wave.

The Spyro Reignited Trilogy is a masterpiece in terms of its visual reconstruction of the original games, but it falls in a few other areas. Toys for Bob have created a beautiful, alive, colourful, and almost CGI animated world in which all fans of Spyro will simply adore jumping back into in order to relive their childhood. Sat on the sidelines with no modernisation support are those who require subtitles for the major exposition cutscenes as this has been rather annoyingly omitted from this almost perfect remake. All three games have a sense of progression as more and more abilities and mechanics are introduced, this makes all three games hours of fun and enjoyment for all the family in this family-friendly 3D platforming adventure.

Toys for Bob’s recreation honors Spyro’s roots by using Insomniac’s style as a template and naturally expanding upon it without losing sight of the franchise’s soul. The result is a trio of titles that have brighter visuals, smoother controls, and more expressive animations while retaining the easygoing platformer nature that surprisingly fits quite well in the modern day.

There are plenty of things in Britain that aren't strong. The pound, the economy, my intestinal lining. But one thing that remains rock solid is our apparent nostalgia for the original PlayStation console. The launch of the PS1 was the moment that Britain apparently decided it wasn't "dorky" to play video games, thanks to trendy marketing tactics by Sony and a lot of demo pods in expensive nightclubs. As such, games like Crash Bandicoot, PaRappa the Rapper, and other cutesy characters, that your average Terry would have balked at in '93 as "for little kids", were now super-cool icons for the late teen/early 20's market. This nostalgic love runs deep even today, as exemplified by Crash's domination of the UK Charts for not one, but two summers in a row.Me, however, I wasn't sold. I didn't care much for the glut of 3D platformers that swamped the shelves in the wake of Nintendo's Super Mario 64. I was all about the punching and the giant spiders and the powerbombs. So, it's with a bit of sigh that I received my review code for Activision's Spyro Reignited Trilogy, which compiles three dragon-y adventures from the later years of the PS1. I played the original game way back when, but that has become a fog with time. Y'see, I don't particularly care for the genre, or the characters, or the starry-eyed nostalgia surrounding Spyro's brand. But the smug little bastard put me in my place, that's for true.

In the end, it doesn’t matter what moves you unlock throughout these games or how many new characters you encounter because few truly innovative twists are offered to the series’s gameplay loop.

Spyro Reignited Trilogy is a successful remake of the original title(s), which is similar to the case of Crash Bandicoot: N. Sane Trilogy. The developers have done a great job by refreshing the graphics and tweaking some gameplay mechanics. Also, modern controls have been implemented. All these aspects make this game pack a joyful experience.

Spyro Reignited Trilogy is a lovingly crafted experience that is bound to satisfy anyone who was a kid during the era of 90’s mascot platformers. It’s a joyous and relaxing experience that made me smile at almost every turn.
