Ninjin was a surprise title that I had a great time with. Both local and online coop modes will allow more people to join in on this adventure and win back their carrots from the Mole Shogun. If you are looking for a fun game with silly humor and quick gameplay, give Ninjin a shot.

Ninjin: Clash of Carrots is a really fun and exciting side-scrolling beat-em-up game with a hint of a Schmup. You won't have an easy time as you traverse throughout the map in pursuit of the evil Shogun behind stealing all of your towns carrots, all whilst spending said carrots on buying yourself new gear! A lot of times you'll find yourself overwhelmed by the constant barrage of enemies which come at you from all positions, just remain cool and calm and find their weaknesses. The art style and music perfectly suit this hidden gem and I hope more people pick it up and try it out for themselves!

Aside from the consistently silly characters and overall sense of light humor there’s not much more to tell than this about Ninjin: A Clash of Carrots. It is a game that is very clear in what it is shooting for and it not only does a fine job of getting there, I’d say it crushes it out of the park. While there are certainly more weighty and brutal beat-em-ups on the system the quick and charming gameplay of Ninjin absolutely stands alone on the system. Especially if you have a friend to party up with, this is a great title to simply enjoy.

Ninjin: Clash of Carrots' decent gameplay and lovely graphics make for an enjoyable experience, and there's enough differences between the characters and with weapon customisations to keep you playing. The completionist in me could spend days trying to unlock them all but the button masher in me just wants to pick up whatever is at hand and whack enemies. It's an addictive title with great replayability.

Ninjin: Clash of Carrots is a kooky ride through feudal Japan in search of carrots. It's fast, it's fun, and it's great with two players. Give it a go if you're looking for some cartoon-y action with a friend.

Its final boss is destined to prevent all but the most dedicated of players from truly finishing it, but the journey there is so enjoyable that most won't care. Ninjin: Clash of Carrots is so unique that you can't help but give it some slack.

Ninjin: Clash of Carrots is an action packed experience. While the story is barely interesting, the humorous moments are worth a giggle or two. The gameplay is simple enough that virtually anyone can enjoy, and its highly replayable. It’s challenging, but fun in a way that makes you want one more go. With 20+ hours of gameplay, and the inclusion of both online and couch co-op, Pocket Trap’s debut effort is worth your time.

Ninjin: Clash of Carrots is deceptively simple. There is enough depth to give players motivation to get better or try different things, though not enough to change the core experience. Even though the graphics are cute, there isn't much that stands out. Combine this with challenging enemies and deeper mechanics and you have an interesting experience. It's perfect if you're looking for something different to play locally or just like the genre, without there being a real hook for anyone else.

Overall though and Ninjin: Clash of Carrots is an interesting game. It brings a unique – albeit rather dull – story, and a rarely seen gameplay style to Xbox One

Ninjin struck me as just a little too frantic for its own good. Co-op is good fun and there's certainly plenty to unlock but, at £12.99 this might be just outside impulse buy range for most people.

Ninjin; Clash of Carrots is funny and cute. It is an evolution of the classic endless runner for smartphones, with more contents and a lot of weapons and customization suitable for the playable characters.

The game is cute and looks great, but thanks to its control scheme, isn't very fun to play.

Ninjin: Clash of Carrots starts out as a silly, colorful beat 'em up, then takes a dark turn down a surprisingly frustrating and challenging path.

Ninjin: Clash of Carrots is an enjoyable and fast-paced beat'em-up that brings to the Nintendo Switch some of the aspects that made this genre extremely popular in previous decade. It does not go all the way through, as Ninjin can become very repetitive and without the same charm of the genre's classics.

Ninjin: Clash of Carrots tries so hard be like old time Beat 'em Up titles, and even tries to change the genre's formula by using Endless Runner mechanics, but it has failed in both, and the final result is a shallow, repetitive، boring and incomplete Beat 'em Up title.

Stylish presentation and quirky fun are Ninjin: Clash of Carrots's standout selling points. Retro graphics and an eccentric storyline are the heart and soul of the experience, even if the script is at times frustratingly over-the-top. Ultimately, Ninjin holds up as a mostly fun experience, but its co-op modes, amusing story, and enemy variety fail to overpower an over-simplicity that lets it down.
