Resident Evil 2 Reviews
Resident Evil 2 survives the horror of summiting a twenty-one year old apex. Time-worn mechanics, either left abandoned or considered obsolete, are accountably refashioned through an agile interface and a relentless commitment to creating tension. Resident Evil 2's pervasive sense of dread, the handshake between past and present, remains delightfully, gruesomely in place.
Resident Evil 2 is not only an entirely new game – it is also a great one. The sudden jump-scares are perhaps a bit unsophisticated, but they get the job done. Furthermore, the game offers a well-written story and over a dozen hours of pure fun, action, and puzzles. Amazing job.

The traditions of survival horror have been modernised, resulting in something that's all-too-familiar yet always manages to keep you on your toes.
Resident Evil 2 excels at putting the player in close quarters with things that will upset and unsettle them, always drawing them into ever more tense, disturbing fights.
Resident Evil 2 is not only an accomplished remake that should serve as the blueprint for how to re-imagine beloved classics, but is an incredible game in its own right- so much so, that it might even stand as one of the very best games this venerated and decorated franchise has delivered to date.
Resident Evil 2 takes a masterpiece and twists it until it resembles something completely new without betraying the spirit of the original.
Resident Evil 2 is fantastic. It's a reminder that there's still life in the old-school survival horror genre. Not everything has to be so action heavy and you can terrify the player without the need for cheap jump scares. (Even though Resident Evil 2 is guilty of that in a few places.) It's proof that you can still use some old tropes like keys and reusing previous areas without cheapening the experience. However, it might be a little on the short side for some.
Resident Evil 2 ($60 on Humble) is more than just a remake. It’s proof there’s room for Resident Evil in the modern horror landscape—and without compromising the core of the series the way Resident Evil VII did
An essential piece of the Resident Evil canon.
It's the best one ever in the history of remasted games. Not only the graphics performance but also the whole gameplay feels like a 2019 game. The new Resident Evil 2 offers the old fans a great opportunity to re-experience the classic horror and shows the best part of the series to the new generation of gamers.

Resident Evil 2 keeps the best aspects of it's source material and combines them with stunningly grotesque graphics, fresh plot twists, gasp inducing tension and solid gameplay to create a seriously satisfying game.
Plenty of value if you’re a survival-horror/horror fan, or just a Resident Evil fan, but for mine -- a brand new experience would have been more welcome.
Non-stop, tense horror adventure that delivers on its promise of keeping players on their toes as they navigate the corridors of the game, avoiding enemies and preserving ammo as you must in real survival. The graphics revamp and musical score make the game seamlessly fit into 2019, and we believe the experience justifies launch day buy.
Resident Evil 2 is a definite remake in every sense of the word. It feels familiar but it's also dressed up to be 100% new for both veterans and newcomers alike. Capcom has managed to redeliver a classic in a way that sparks new life into the series and survival horror genre.
