Resident Evil 2 Reviews
Capcom has released the Game of the Year in the first month of 2019. If you only buy one game this year, make sure it’s this one. Screw Red Dead Redemption 2, move over The Witcher 3—Resident Evil 2 is, so far, the game of the generation.
Resident Evil 2 will easily be one of the best games of 2019. In addition to being a new staple for the Resident Evil franchise, Resident Evil 2 shows how remakes can and should be done.
Resident Evil 2 is a shining example of how remakes should be done.
Capcom has proven themselves to be extremely capable of not only capturing what made the original game so incredible – but how to add little touches to improve it. Resident Evil 2 is not a simple remake, it’s a love letter to the franchise and the fans who have stood by the series through thick and thin. Do not miss this.
Capcom has laid the foundations for what a good remake should be. Personally, I'm not surprised, they already did it with Resident Evil 1 in the Gamecube era and as with that previous work, the new REsident Evil team has taken some licenses in the lore of the game to better unite it. However, it still seems to me that there have been wasted opportunities to give consistency to the original, such as repeating puzzles, in Code Veronica the puzzles that one completed did not impede the progress of the other.

Resident Evil 2 is an excellent game. The Survival Horror that fans wanted so much is here, the technical aspect is impressive and the various campaigns (even if they have very similar elements) increase the lifespan considerably. Although the remake is not exactly identical to the original, the essence of the 1998 game remains present. Resident Evil 2 is a must-have title in your collection.

With a great campaign, extra modes, and other unlockables Resident Evil 2 is without a doubt a must own.
Resident Evil 2 is the game to either rekindle your love of the series or finally experience what others have been in love with all this time.
Resident Evil 2 is one of the best horror games I’ve ever played.
It is very difficult to synthesize Resident Evil 2 in a single sentence, but perhaps this is the most appropriate: Resident Evil 2 is the horror game of the year and a clear contender for GOTY 2019
While the game lacks in more open environments with several sections coming out as just hallways, it still nails it with its bleak tone, fantastic enemies, and groundbreaking characters. In short, Resident Evil 2 is a “must have” for any survival horror fan.
Resident Evil 2 is one of the best remakes we've ever seen: it's a bit different from the classical survival horror released in 1998, while still remaining true to the original game.

A fan-faithful remake rebuilt from the ground up and jam-packed with quality content. A package both longtime Resident Evil fans and newbies will enjoy.
A perfect remake or Resident Evil 2 and an amazing game overall. I got what I expected it to be and even more than that. Definitely a recommendation for fans or the series as well as for everybody else.
For Resident Evil fans this is a must-play, but even those without nostalgia for RE 2 will have a good time
One of the best survival horror adventures ever released gets the royal remake treatment in 2019's first must-play game
Capcom has achieved the near-impossible with the remake of Resident Evil 2. A remarkable labour of design, iteration, faithfulness, and adaptation; a masterclass in knowing what to change, how to change it, and what to build upon, Resident Evil 2 in 2018 emerges from the shadow of its namesake with consummate ease.
Resident Evil 2 is a breath of fresh (or should I say foul and dead?) air into the bloated world of open-ended gameplay mechanics that, instead of leaving the player feeling empty and exhausted for the amount of options, leave them with a constant sense of tension but knowledge and will to push on. Truly an innovation that proves its necessity.
More than just a simple remake of a cherished classic, Resident Evil 2 is a reinvigoration of the entire franchise, showing just how much life it still has left without the need to make drastic gameplay or stylistic changes. From start to end, this is a phenomenal showcase of old mixed with new, both giving players the chance to relive an important chapter in the life of the series under fantastic new conditions, while also potentially paving the way for Resident Evil for years to come.
No matter what your past with this series, this new face of Resident Evil 2 must be within your priorities at all costs, because the love work that was printed on it, is something that I had not been able to see inside the medium.
