When it all comes down to it, Super Smash Bros for Wii U is a well put together game. It knows what it wants to be - and what it sets out to accomplish, it does so in spades! The gameplay is solid, smooth, and enjoyable - and the entire product has been polished to an absolute shine! Don't let the name fool you; as this game has a personality all of its own!

If any game in the "Super Smash Bros." series has ever been the go-to game to play with your group of friends, this new Wii U version will replace it. A new "Super Smash Bros." game is the only suitable successor to a previous "Super Smash Bros." The king is dead, long live the King.

Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U lives up to its promise by delivering stellar gameplay, superb production value, and endless multiplayer opportunities. It is a must-have for those who own a Wii U, and a great incentive for those who don't yet have one to do so.

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U is, without a shadow of a doubt, my favorite title of the holiday season.

Overall, though, Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U is an excellent addition to the series. It's solid when played by your lonesome but really shines when played against other people whether it be online or on your couch. Personally, I recommend gathering up as many people as you can and squeezing them in your living room for the best Smash experience. Just be warned that they might not want to leave so get ready to kick them out.

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U offers the most modes, fighters, and stages in the history of the franchise, with a surprisingly high level of polish across the board. Whether you prefer multiplayer or toughing it out against CPU fighters, you'll find hours of excellent fun throwing down with your favorite Nintendo characters.

Titles that will mark the history of video games, we find perhaps 3 or 4 per generation of consoles. It's very little, still happy, but it's the price of skimming. For many, Smash Bros. on Wii U will be part of this race, that of the venerable, of those who will be talked about by the fire to our grandchildren.

Super Smash Bros for Wii U fixes everything disappointing about its predecessor and is a phenomenal game in its own right. While I miss the Subspace Emissary story mode and the Amiibo feel a little underused, the rest of the game is exploding with content and the core mechanics are near-perfect. Get this game at the earliest opportunity and gather your friends—Smash Bros on Wii U is now the undisputed king of party games.

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U delivers all of the rock-solid mechanics that the 3DS version gave us, with the joy of playing on a big screen with friends and a heap of worthwhile modes. It certainly doesn't negate the greatness of the 3DS edition, but for those who have a bunch of friends anxious to Smash and can only get one, this is the version to get.

Pound for pound, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U has been the most fun I've had playing video games in 2014, and a well-polished crown jewel in the Wii U's library. I've spent dozens of hours Smashing roomfuls of friends into oblivion, grinding through events and hunting down unlockables — and, happily, I feel like I'm just getting started.

Super Smash Bros. is technically formidable, extremely imaginative, and always a step or two beyond common sense: an open-stage applause show.

It's 2001 all over again. Some thirteen years after Melee's release, Nintendo has finally formulated an experience which compares appreciably to the masterpiece that we all love (and many of us still play). Whether for fun or for glory, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U is the follow-up Smash fans have been anticipating since.

When I'm playing Smash Bros. with my friends, nothing can be better. We scream, we argue, we laugh, and we never want to stop. The Wii U version is a fantastic addition to the series. The new modes are great, but the excellent mechanics and huge, varied roster make it potentially the best entry in the franchise yet.

When all is said and done, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U is a fantastic entry into the series. The amount of content in the game is truly incredible and Mr. Sakurai and the teams at Sora Ltd. and Capcom have put a ton of work into the title. When the title was first mentioned at E3 2011, fans were ecstatic to finally be getting some new Smash, and the long wait up until 2014 was a hard time for many Nintendo fans.
