Baba Is You Reviews
Baba Is You is an elegant puzzle game, and one of the best in years. Simple in visuals, but really, really deep from the gameplay perspective.

I don't know if "BABA IS GOTY", but it may very well be.

Baba is You manages to take the familiar idea of nudging blocks and solving puzzles in a fresh direction. Brilliant.
Even so, as uneventful its music may seem, it does little to sway the view that Baba Is You is an outstandingly inventive and delightful puzzle game to crack.
A hugely original puzzler that relies on raw logic in a way only a video game could, providing some of the most satisfyingly open-ended challenges of the generation.
Under the tune of a minimalist semantic puzzle game, Baba is You hides an extraordinary experience that will take you to the frontiers of reason and logic. By inviting the player to constantly change the rules of the game, Arvi Teikari makes every element present on the screen a potential source of interaction, and offers the genre a concept as diabolical as it is audacious.

Baba Is You offers a charming and unique puzzling experience that's certain to challenge newcomers and fans of puzzle games alike.
But all of those bothersome traits wash away the moment you solve a tough task. Logic puzzles don't come more clever or rewarding than Baba Is You, and with that in mind, this is one of the best of its kind in recent memory. It just might stump you a lot.
From the moment I saw Baba Is You for the first time I already knew it was something I would be into a lot. After playing it for several hours and having gone through almost a hundred stages I found myself very addicted to it's gameplay loop and impressed by the quality of the puzzle design put inside the game. Baba Is You is one of the most creative games of recent years, a collection of systemic puzzles with a clever and challenging game design.

Baba is You is a rare sort of puzzle game that I think everyone should play. It may not have the production values of a big budget game, but everything present works incredibly well together. The pacing, visual and sound design, level design, and implementation of its core mechanic create one of the best puzzle games I've ever played. What really puts it over the top for me is how it translates complicated logical puzzle solving into a concrete form that is easily understood. It's simple, accessible, and immensely gratifying.
The hundreds of puzzles here kept me playing for several hours, but it can’t be overstated how the real strength of Baba is You lies in its concept. Rules and logic are everywhere in video games, and by giving some measure of manipulation over them in truly inspired scenarios here it’s become a Nindie worth thinking over. Or to put it another way — Baba is Great.
Why settle for going the normal route and following the game’s rules to win when you can simply look for ways to change the rules instead? This simple but smart premise is central to Baba Is You and will have you playing with each stage’s rules that are represented as words on the screen that you can move around and reconfigure...
Baba Is You is like a compilation of gift shop brain teasers; they’re not for everyone, but some people can’t get enough of them. And while it may sound like just another sketchy smartphone game, it’s surprisingly one of the most unique puzzlers you can find on the Switch and the way in which it encourages you to break its rules and create your own ones is refreshing and unique.
Possibly the most original puzzle game in recent memory, Baba is You is also an exercise in frustration and stretched-out logic.
Baba Is You has a cutesy exterior that serves only to fool you into thinking it won't be the most difficult puzzle game you've ever played.
Baba is You is a delightful puzzle game filled with absurd solutions and situations, asking players to discard what they think they know about games to solve them.
Baba Is You is a genius way to breath new life into the puzzle genre with its perfect blend of simple mechanics meeting mind-melting difficulty.

Rules are made to be broken, and that's never been more true that with Baba is You, I just wish they had made it a bit more fun.
