Chocobo Mystery Dungeon: Every Buddy! Reviews
Absolutely filled to the brim with content, Chocobo's Mystery Dungeon: Every Buddy! is a charming take on the Mystery Dungeon format. While it might not offer too much in the way of innovation, there is a refined quality to just about every aspect. From the Buddy System, to the wonderful integration of Final Fantasy's Job System, there's very little on display that doesn't ultimately come together. The difficulty's pacing might pose a problem to some, but Square Enix's latest interpretation of the Mystery Dungeon franchise is bound to be remembered as one of the series' highest points.
Chocobo's Mystery Dungeon Every Buddy!, with its thoughtful additions, is simply a better version of it. Hardcore roguelike fans may find it too forgiving, but for anyone unfamiliar with the genre, you won't find a better jumping off point than this.
For fans of the Final Fantasy series, those looking for a good roguelike or more tactical style game, or just someone looking for a fun romp or a trip down nostalgia lane, Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon: Every Buddy! comes highly recommended.
Overall, Chocobo's Mystery Dungeon EVERY BUDDY! is a fun game to play, though the story and some of the characters could have been done better.
A solid but basic Mystery Dungeon spinoff of the Final Fantasy series.
Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon: Every Buddy! easily proves to be the best version of Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon, and we would even go so far as to say it’s in the running of being the best Mystery Dungeon game in general.
Although the premise of Chocobo's Mystery Dungeon: EVERY BUDDY! is bland, the game's charm and personality shine through in its writing and music. Meanwhile, the dungeon-crawling gameplay can be excessively punishing and tediously grindy, but the experience is ultimately satisfying and rewarding.
Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon: Every Buddy is a simple but very fun dungeon crawler that Final Fantasy fans will definitely enjoy.
With simple gameplay, charming story, chibi design and a flashy companion system, Chocobo's Mystery Dungeon: Every Buddy! is a title that can become an excellent entry for all those who have not played a roguelike game. It's a shame that, in the end, it ends up becoming a fairly repetitive project that denotes the same mistakes of the original Wii game.

If you’re a fan of randomised dungeon crawlers, you’ll likely have a lot of fun here. Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon Every Buddy is a great entry in the Mystery Dungeon series. Don’t be put off by it’s art direction and think that you’re only in for a game built for kids. It’s strategy and risk/reward requirements allow it to be fun for everyone. Unfortunately the visuals are showing their age a bit but it certainly doesn’t take away from the fun factor the game nails.
Some interesting development decisions and job balance woes rough up the experience a bit, but it is still a solid choice for rogue-like and Final Fantasy fans alike.
Chocobo is by far the most beloved mascot of games, and it's really fun to play exclusively with it. I felt a lack of visual quality in Chocobo's Mystery Dungeon: Every Buddy!, considering it was made for platforms that allow a higher graphics performance. As a result, the game follows a simple structure, with repetitive maps and story. But it's a good opportunity to pass the time.

Don't be fooled by the cute and childish look of Chocobo's Mystery Dungeon Every Buddy, because the game actually has some formidable aspects, like a wealthy content, huge dungeons and a tough challenge. Despite a technology which is almost the same than the original game and persistant flaws, the game is very catchy. If you missed the original title, or if you are a chcocobo, Final Fantasy or a Mystery Dungeon fan, it's a decent proposition. However, it's too bad that the game can be so punitive, and the technical side as well its usability hasn't been reworked.
A good taste of nostalgia that still smells a bit old, despite its improvements over the original game.

If you’re a fan of mystery dungeon games, I can’t recommend Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon: Every Buddy! enough.
Chocobo's Mystery Dungeon has an incredibly cute look to it. But don't be fooled, the game is unforgiving and challenging. The roguelike elements can feel a little off balance at times, but the fighting system and dungeons keep you going.

GREAT - Whether you’re looking for a serious Final Fantasy experience, or looking to have a fun time with an adorable fluffy yellow bird, you’re going to need this game in your Switch library. The game features bright and colorful graphics and charming characters, and yet somehow manages to marry them with challenging gameplay. Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon Every Buddy is a great fit for the Switch!
While the reinforcement of (Every) Buddy might appear too light to have legitimately retitled this remastered port, such evolution not only strengthtens the combat system, but also softens the whole experience, which remains harsher than the smooth feathers of Chocobo's Mystery Dungeon suggest though.

Despite its heavy use of aleatory mechanics, Chocobo's Mystery Dungeon: Every Buddy offers a strategic and challenging adventure that's paired with a delightful dose of Final Fantasy nostalgia.
