Contra Anniversary Collection Reviews
Contra Anniversary Collection is a solid retro video game bundle for PC that features some of the best run-and-gun titles of the 8- and 16-bit eras, but it lacks many features you'd expect in a contemporary compilation.
The Contra Anniversary Collection could have been so much more.
Contra Anniversary Collection offers a series of run and guns of undisputed historical value in a package that honestly could have offered so much more. Contra III: The Alien War and Hard Corps remain as beautiful as the sun, and the two arcade games still offer a steep but extremely rewarding challenge, however the superfluous presence of the Probotectors can only appear as a waste of space in the eyes of the true fans.

The Contra collection finishes Konami's 50th birthday bash in style.
It's not a perfect package, but it is still a collection that can guarantee several hours of fun.

Overall, the Contra Anniversary Collection is a pleasant shoot down memory lane, but the duplicate games are frustrating additions, taking up slots that could’ve been filled by more unique titles.
Contra Anniversary Collection is another successful release under Konami's Anniversary Collection moniker. It brings the old series back to life and reminds us that Konami really loved gaming back in the day. Hopefully, they can get that old feeling back again and reignite some of the other series that lie underneath their control.
Contra Anniversary Collection is a missed opportunity to bring Contra to a new audience in a polished form, this collection is just plain lazy.
Nonetheless, it would have been nice to see a spinoff like Contra Force or even Contra: The Alien Wars for Game Boy rather than the incredibly similar PAL versions we did get. Button remapping is another frustrating omission. Overall, this is a solid collection of classic action games that have enjoyable boss fights and provide a great challenge, but it doesn't feel like a definitive compilation.
Another collection by Konami after Castlevania Anniversary Collection. It's very enjoyable to reunite with our bulky masculine heros and the game is still fast and engaging, but it's just a simple port without polishing anything. The game is not in full screen and controls are not good. Also It's not a complete collection by any means but the true fans can still enjoy this nostalgic title and challenge themselves with this hardcore collection.

Contra Anniversary Collection may not be the definitive collection of Konami's retro run 'n' gun franchise but what's here still provides top-notch action-packed co-op entertainment.
Contra Anniversary Collection is the third and last collection of Konami for its 50th anniversary and possibly the most complete despite some unjustified absence, and limited to the arcades, the 8 and the 16 bits. However, and thanks to the update with the Japanese versions, now we have the feeling of facing a better game that every fan of the Contra franchise should have. And as in the previous compilations, the inclusion of the digital book full of information and details of the franchise, is a plus that enriches the compilation and makes it almost essential for those who once enjoyed this Konami classic.

With the Contra Anniversary Collection, M2 and Konami deliver a very well playable and technical-wise impressive finale to their 50th birthday. which unfortunately contains too much different versions of the same games and lacks some highlights of the series. Nevertheless, fans of classic and challenging Run N`Gun action can`t come around this package.

GREAT - The originator of the 2-player run-and-gun genre still holds up today. With more Contra than anyone asked for, there’s plenty of aliens to keep you busy for days on end. Be sure to hand a Joy-Con to a friend for maximum enjoyment!
The Contra Anniversary Collection isn't perfect — the omission of Contra 4 and Contra ReBirth is a disappointment, and more save states per game would have been nice — but it is a solid collection of quality games at an attractive $20 price point to boot.
Nothing really holds back this package, other than perhaps the somewhat limited selection of "unique" games on offer, as much of the selection consists of variations of the same title, or regional releases under different names.
For fans on the Contra series or the run ‘n’ gun genre, Contra Anniversary Collection is a must-have
Contra Anniversay Collection is a perfect way to jump back to the fast-paced action of the genre, with some of its best games. With 10 great games which still deliver strong challenges, every fan of the run and gun genre should really consider giving this celebration a try.

The best collection from Konami, head to head with the Castlevania one... Shooting to the chiptune rock rhythms brings out our youth emotions, while the action keep being hypnotic, magic... like 30 years ago. We only miss some titles in the colection and hope that M2 fix the frame rate on the coin op. The rest, it's still wonderful.

Contra Anniversary Collection is a great compilation of main Contra games, regional variations and spin-offs, but it's missing a few more interesting and more recent games, not widely available. If you love Contra, you'll love this bundle.
