WRC 8 is a rally racing fan's dream. This is a game that will test the skills of even veteran rally fans. Those who are looking to live the dream of taking a team from relative obscurity to championship winners will enjoy the extensive career mode. There's even split screen! In 2019! Split. Screen. While the environments may not seem as detailed as in Dirt Rally 2.0, and the co-drivers are a bit robotic, these are smaller issues and by are no means deal breakers. It seems the rally racing genre just got competitive for the first time in a while with the release of WRC 8.

There are some issues within WRC 8, and they're not small, but the game is otherwise so good that it's easy to overlook them. For all the times your engine switches to stealth mode or a fence post sends you into low Earth orbit, there are hundreds of times when you are blissfully guiding your car into a drift around a dusty apex in Argentina, or masterfully twisting through a series of highly technical corners during heavy rain. The vehicle handling is so good — and that is so important for a rally game — that even with its flaws, WRC 8 is likely the high bar that other rally games should aspire to.

WRC 8, FIA World Rally Championship is a fantastic racing simulator for players of all skill levels. Brand new to the style? Go for it. Coming back for more? Just load up the pro side of things and do what you do best. With plenty of options for everyone, I’m just sad that I’ve waited this long to do some offroad racing.

Making small improvements over previous games not only adds up to WRC 8 being the best in the series, it's also one of the best rally games around.

WRC 8 is surprisingly accessible to rally newcomers, but after explaining how everything works, the game delights in throwing buckets of cold water in the player's face. This is a tough game, but a fair one, and fans of rally racers and other "difficult" genres will likely equally enjoy skidding through WRC 8's wicked twists and turns. A variety of modes flesh the experience out, but prepare to feast on the Career Mode, which is comprehensive and comprehendible. Recommended.

WRC 8 is a much-welcomed addition to the racing sim genre, and I would highly recommend it to fans to give this title a try.

In terms of gameplay, WRC 8 goes on par with DiRT Rally 2.0 on the first place, but due to it`s stiff presentation, the partly outdated menu navigation and the high boarding hurdle it still can`t hold on with Codemasters paragon. Fans of rally-sports and detailed driving mechanics should add the title to their collection anyway, due that content and gameplay can convince on the entire line.

A clear improvement from the previous chapters of the series, starting from the interesting brand new career mode, and finishing on the dynamic weather.

The year that Kylotonn took to get WRC 8 back into the top contenders of rally games was worth it. Its Career mode alone is enough to make you sit down for hours and plan out how to manage your team, drive your car, and meet the conditions of your contract. With the car's level of detail being extremely high, decent driving mechanics, and the bevvy of game modes being at an all-time high, this is a racing game that any fan of racing should absolutely try.

WRC 8 is fun, it's challenging, and it's frustrating, and with that license in tow, it's a great play for rally fans the world over.

By far the best outing every by KT Racing/Kylotonn and in the WRC franchise as a whole. With a well-defined career mode, backed up by a wealth of stages, set across a variety of places within the world, all of which are well designed, WRC 8 offers a lot for fans who want yet another strong rally game to jump into. While not quite alongside DiRT Rally 2.0, it's certainly coming close.

This episode has been carefully developed and deserves the attention of simracing fans. It does not compete with the best titles on PC, but you will not have much to reproach it on console. WRC 8, it is a solid title with an official licence and the confidence is now totally restored in Kylotonn. Simply, Bravo.
