Darksiders Genesis Reviews
Though it lacks polish, Darksiders Genesis is a rare spinoff that equals and sometimes surpasses its mainline brethren
Despite the drastically different change in perspective, the game feels quintessentially Darksiders. For fans, it is a must-play. For anyone with even a passing interest, it is also a must-play.
everything Genesis does, it does quite well, and over the ~15-20 hour playtime (depending on how thorough you are) you’ll find it quite hard to identify moments of weakness. For existing and prospective fans alike, there’s much to love about Darksiders Genesis.
Another cheerfully apocalyptic outing for the Horsemen.
Airship Syndicate has carried a successful experiment that brought freshness to the Darksiders series. Isometric perspective works perfectly and thanks to that game is dynamic and eye-catching even though visual side of it isn’t the greatest. I must admit that Darksiders Genesis is one of my biggest positive surprises of this year. I recommend this part of the series to all Darksiders and hack 'n' slash genre fans.
Darksiders Genesis looks very much like the older games in Darksiders series, and even repeats their mistakes, such as camera problems. Nevertheless, solid visual design and good music that matches greatly with the game's tempo save the day and make Darksiders Genesis a very good game, but not one of the best in the genre.

Hack and Slash with Horsemen of the Apocalypse is acceptable, but with some flaws and horrible camera.

Darksiders Genesis translates everything from its 3rd person predecessors perfectly, I have zero complaints about the gameplay itself. The additional core system and the myriad of upgrades ensures boredom never sets in and I highly recommend anyone who's got an even passing interest in this gives it a go.
A well made ARPG from the Darksiders universe that's all about ripping through demons to make Hell a slightly safer place to live.
Darksiders Genesis presents everything we like in the series with a twist, although the story isn't what we expected, its a decent first trial for the Diablo-like Action RPG formula that can be enjoyed with a Solo or with a friend.

It's hard to imagine any fan of any of the Darksiders games not enjoying Genesis. It definitely hammers home on the strengths of the franchise and brings the playable characters full circle with the introduction of Strife.
Darksiders Genesis is not only immediately fun, it is also immediately recognisable as Darksiders despite the move to a new genre and completely different camera angle. Strife is a very welcome addition to the Darksiders canon, and when paired with War they have helped elevate Genesis to the best entry in the series in the post Vigil Games era.
Darksiders Genesis delivers a nice installment to the Darksiders series by sporting a different look while playing it safe.
I had a genuinely good time with it for at least 75% of the time I spent playing it. If you’re actually into the series as a whole, I imagine you’ll have an even better one.
Airship Syndicate did a great job taking the best aspects of action RPGs and isometric action titles and put their fun and entertaining spin on it, topped off with a decent Gareth Coke-composed soundtrack that wades between tranquil acoustics to battle anthems with foreboding chants. That's more than enough to earn it a reputation for being this year's dark horse.
Darksiders: Genesis suffers from a poorly-suited camera but has great combat and intriguing writing.
Despite the story of Darksider Genesis is pretty mediocre, the combat system and puzzle-solving design are impressive. With a beautiful Diablo-like aesthetic, it also presents us a fascinated world.

Darksiders Genesis easily cements itself as not just a great entry into the franchise, but also as a fine action-packed dungeon crawler in general.
