Someday You'll Return is an immensely rewarding game with excellent visuals, world design, and storytelling. Poor signposting and trial-and-error can lead to frustration, but the experience is very much worth it regardless.

With its excellent narrative, ample content, and high replayablity, Someday You'll Return completely deserves its 30$ price tag, but falls short as a horror game. It might disappoint those who regard as a horror game, but if you choose to look past that, what remains is a masterpiece with an excellent narrative. As such the game is highly recommended; just not as a horror title

Someday You’ll Return is much more than a psychological horror game, it’s an immersive adventure which you’ll never forget. Although initially looking for your daughter, you’ll soon find yourself helping others and discovering secrets about yourself and the past, things which you forgot a long time ago. Despite my lack of interest in being chased and performing stealth mechanics, the ones within this game weren’t too bad, being rather forgiving and easy to complete after a few tries. It’s a beautiful digital trip to real-life locations, enhanced with fantastical and horrific events which will scare and disturb you.

Despite my initial reservations about Daniel as a protagonist and the narrative voice of the game, Someday You’ll Return is a fantastic psychological horror with enough extra gameplay features to keep it entertaining.

There are some problems with the pacing, especially when you get lost in the forest or stuck on a puzzle, but the story is so compelling you’ll have to see it through to the end. It’s one of those games that sticks with you long after it’s over. The way the story unfolds and is presented to you is brilliant.

Someday You'll Return failed to escape the shadow of its own genre, but on a whole, it's a quality adventure game set in an attractive Central European setting.

The game offers a lot. Whether it's wandering through the woods, solving puzzles, sneaking in on enemies or walking through places where the atmosphere could literally be cut. Some passages are a little weaker, lengthy and even annoying at times. But the overall experience of the game is really exceptional and if you sometimes go in a different direction than the game requires, the end of the game can reveal much more to you…

Someday You'll Return is a psychological horror game about a father searching for his daughter in the woods. Various mechanics such as manual climbing, puzzle solving, crafting, and herbalism all keep gameplay fresh and engaging. Herbalism isn't used as much as it could've been, which is a shame since it's pretty neat. Through it all, you'll start to question your own sanity.

A rare modern adventure game where you not only follow the story but, you know, actually play it. But it definitely needs some polishing.

Someday You’ll Return does some things well. It is a great psychological horror game with cool new platforming gameplay and a detailed crafting system. It also looks amazing! It is just a shame, then, that the story is as uninspired as it is, with voice acting that pulls you out of the immersion quickly. It has a lot of potential, but I would not call it a must-have just yet.

Someday You'll Return would be a better game if it was a tad shorter, as ideas that seem exciting at first fall into the pit of repetition the longer the game drags. however, despite this, there is an engaging story and some clever puzzles that accompany the player along their experience.

When Someday You'll Return is at its best, it is one of the finest immersive horror games I've played. Its take on psychological horror and ability to create a sense of dread is second to none, but that comes with some caveats. It can drag in parts, has some frustrating stealth sections and some puzzles that are needlessly obscure, but if you're prepared to make it through the less successful moments, there is a lot to love here.

That the horror genre has been regenerating in recent years thanks to independent developments, is a proven fact. With Someday You'll Return we have a proposal with well-known facets, paying homage to classics and recent games, in a five-year period of development by very few hands, and with an appearance inappropriate for such modest means. Lights and shadows in a highly recommended game, with edges, and with a bulky length for another adventure of search, exterior and interior exploration, and perhaps, redemption.

Someday You'll Return has some intersting ideas that mash together in a bit of an odd way, and can be worth experincing if you don't mind a crummy story, bad horror stealth, and occasionally iffy puzzles.

Did I enjoy Someday You’ll Return and is it worth the money? Yes, understatement of the year. It has a few problems, but that doesn’t stop it from being a pretty great and enjoyable game.

Someday You'll Return has some incredible atmosphere, but ultimately fails to scare due to some poor, forced stealth sections and tiresome crafting mechanics.
