Beyond Blue Reviews
Writing that's worth wincing at does little to drag down a hyper-relaxing and educational diving game. Beyond Blue lets you take a breath in a medium packed with games that try their hardest to make your blood pressure skyrocket.
Beyond Blue's educational approach to studying sea life and learning about the various effects humanity has on life is outstanding. While marine biologists look to tag and consider these precious creatures' habits, learning about their behavior, family development, health, diseases, etc., some seem to disrupt and cause harm. The experience is relatively short; however, I genuinely enjoyed learning and scanning all of the inhabitants.
Beyond Blue handles educational material successfully. It makes its ideas easy to digest, approachable and most of all, fun.
Beyond Blue struggles as a narrative adventure game but shines as an educational tool that brings awareness and reveals some of the ocean’s secrets. Its few characters don’t quite stand out and the simple core gameplay loop of swimming, scanning and following waypoints comes off as rather bland.
We've seen how this can be implemented with <b>Ubisoft</b>'s brilliant “Discovery Tour” mode for both Assassin's Creed Origins and Odyssey -- an interactive journey through history; fact and myth alike, where you control the information available to you, and dive in as deep as <i>you</i> like.
For anyone who wants to be a marine biologist... this is a good casual immersion into the wonderous depths.
Despite some occasional framerate drops and a slightly twitchy camera, Beyond Blue is a thoroughly relaxing and educational dive through some of the most beautifully-diverse underwater landscapes on the PS4.
An educational way to explore the deep blue sea at your own pace.
Beyond Blue is an adventure that will not be remembered for its gameplay, but it's something different from what we usually see in gaming and brings a strong message with it.

From its interesting story, fantastic soundtrack and admirable inclusion of educational elements, Beyond Blue is an excellent title that a wide gamut of gamers will enjoy. It isn’t free of issues, but they don’t deter from the magic of diving into an unexplored underwater world.
Beyond Blue is only a short experience – you’ll be done with it in about four hours or so. But every moment spent with the game is a treat. It might not be quite true to real life thanks to the game’s fictional and near-futuristic technology, but it does offer a very real glimpse into the lives of underwater creatures. Not only is this a valuable educational tool, it’s enjoyable and relaxing too.
Beyond Blue offers a unique experience deep down the ocean, and while it feels more like a science project than a video game, it can be still enjoyed by some very specific kind of gamers, or scientists!

Beyond Blue is a beautiful and enchanting journey. The attention to detail and devotion to its creation, along with the companion documentary segments, show a love for the ocean. It's a little on the short side, but there's still so much to enjoy in this gorgeously crafted game.
If you want to learn more about the ocean, this would be a great experience for you. If you want a beautiful, relaxed experience about fish, Beyond Blue just about misses the mark on that, unfortunately.
Beyond Blue is definitely not the first game that tries to reconcile us with science and our planet using videogame methods, but undoubtedly, is one of the best. This does not mean that this game is flawless, but it is an actual step forward. While the game’s ocean is not as alive and responsive as it should be, the characters and the narrative are astonishingly alive and believable, and can definitely teach us how to be human

Uncovering world of ocean is impressive visual experience, but gameplay is not very amusing.

Despite these shortcomings, Beyond Blue is a game everyone should experience. It is ideal for younger audiences and can be the perfect family activity. The price tag is a bit steep compared to what the game offers, but after a discount Beyond Blue should be considered by everyone who wants to relax and escape into a beautiful world for a couple of hours.
Beyond Blue is a fantastic aquatic experience that will submerge you into the many wonders our deep blue oceans have to hide.
The E-Line Media developers and publishers have clearly worked tirelessly to bring a heightened awareness that has a heavy focus on conservation and environmental issues that are pressing today. They have enveloped all these issues into a relaxing environment to enable people to be involved directly with these themes in the interactive and safe environment of Beyond Blue. There are no threats, which overall makes this work of art a safe space to explore in comfort at their own pace. If there is an expectation of this to be a true dive with threats and a different experience each time, it is likely disappointment will be experienced and a feeling of boredom may creep in fairly quickly, but if the aim is to relax and learn about the ocean, this truly is a wonderful title.
More games like Beyond Blue should be out there: Even if it cannot unfold it's complete potential, it's a mighty, worthwile and teaching game about the world's oceans, wales and dangers that are threatening the world's most important ecosystem. Beyond Blue is a shortish experience but it's worth every minute.
