Persona 4 Golden Reviews
Its occasional pizzazz, including Shoji Meguro's blissful J-pop soundtrack, is undermined by how hard it often is to actually look at the game.
Persona 4 Golden is comforting, it’s warm, and so lovingly inviting. With its bright color palette and relentless optimism and hope, it’s summer incarnate and a beautiful reminder of the rose-colored past. Summer has begun.
Persona 4 Golden on PC is the best port yet of one of the JRPG genre's previous generation greats, and time has been kind to Teddie and friends.
Persona 4 Golden is as great on PC as it was on PlayStation Vita. Its turn-based combat is fast, fun, fluid, and encourages strategic thinking. The contemporary, rural setting and Jung-inspired narrative sets it apart from other JRPGs and allows it to tell a story that breaks genre conventions. Most importantly, the characters and their unique quirks make for a highly entertaining gameplay experience. Persona 4 Golden is a JRPG classic and a must-own PC game.
Over ten years later, Persona 4 Golden remains a thoroughly enjoyable and engrossing RPG that, for the most part, has stood the test of time. Although its visuals might be a bit dated, the gameplay and story presented here do more than enough to justify the purchase, while all the tweaks and additions that came with this 'Golden' edition round out most of the rougher edges from the initial PS2 release. If you're looking to give the Persona series a shot, Persona 5 Royal is a good place to start, but P4G is an excellent entry in the series and one that we would recommend you pick up when you can.
By defending its rurality, Persona 4 Golden teaches us that acceptance does not imply liking, but experiencing the reality of ourselves without any kind of denial or rejection.

Persona 4 Golden is a radiant experience that not only builds upon, but perfects the best elements in the series.
All of this said, my first journey through Persona 4 Golden was a positive one. While it almost lost me with the incredible amount of story and dialogue, it set me straight when the gameplay finally kicked in. The nearly perfect juggling act between wild visuals, great story, and familiar JRPG gameplay has me sold that I need to check out other Persona games in the series. Hopefully, they make them for the PC. Persona 4 Golden was an excellent PC game that deserves gamers' time and attention.
For the time rich, this JRPG behemoth will enrich the lives of many and occasionally frustrate with its monotony.
Persona 4 Golden has absolutely withstood the test of time, delivering a fantastic story with a truly likeable cast of characters. Could more have been done with the visuals? Perhaps, but it’s still a brilliant game nonetheless. A true classic, now available on your console of choice. Sweet.
Persona 4 Golden remains an all-time great RPG, and one that deserves your time all the more with a handful of useful quality of life tweaks.
My second time around with Persona 4 Golden was still a positive one. While I’m still a little put off by the amount of dialogue the game features, I completely understand that it’s for good reason, as the overall story is absolutely thrilling as it is terrifying. It’s a gorgeous centerpiece to superb gameplay design and I have nothing but praise for it. The only knock with P4G is that I wish it gave more reason to own it on the last and current generation of consoles.
If you have the patience to get through the first ten or so hours and tackle the multitude of systems it throws at you, Persona 4 Golden will reward you with a richly enjoyable JRPG experience, though the misogyny and homophobic content have really not aged it well.
By building a fantastic story filled with a deep cast of characters Persona 4 Golden manages to truly invite you into its world. While at times peaks and troughs in gameplay can be jarring the complete package is one any JRPG fan should turn their hand to.
Persona 4 Golden is slowly starting to show its age in the gameplay department, but that doesn't detract it from being one of the best RPG experiences you'll find.
Persona 4 Golden remains one of my favourite RPGs of all time and this rock solid PC port is quickly becoming the definitive release of the game for me
Persona 4 Golden is finally out of the PS Vita prison and still is one of the most enjoyable JRPG around, even if with some technical flaws.
