Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town Reviews
Despite some problems, it is not difficult to have fun and spend several hours exploring the world of Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town. If you like this kind of game, but you've played Stardew Valley a thousand times, can't take Animal Crossing: New Horizons anymore, or just played the original or miss a good old Harvest Moon, go ahead without fear. There is a lot to do, more than I expected at the beginning, actually.

This remake of a Gameboy Advance classic will hopefully find some new followers on this newer system. The easy-going, laid back, open-world style might not be the perfect fit for everyone. The game's tried-and-true formula, with short calendar days, seems to be a prime fit for short gameplay stints, especially for people who have busy lives.
Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town is perfectly shaped to fill that post-New Horizons void in your soul. If you were a fan of the original Harvest Moon game, you’ll find a lot of nostalgia in this retelling of the Mineral Town story, but those looking for complex characters or a compelling story to follow may well be left disappointed.
Overall, the game very much feels like the very best of the original Harvest Moon title mixed with the newer mechanics and ideas that have been developed in the Story of Seasons franchise. It's a perfect mesh of old and new that feels well pitched for both veterans and newcomers to enjoy. If you're looking for a relaxing game to calm your mind at the end of the day, then Story Of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town is here to fill that gap.
When you’re making a new iteration of a revered and classic series I don’t doubt the greatest concern lies in how great a risk you’re willing to take in changing things...
Overall I did really enjoy my time with STORY OF SEASONS: Friends of Mineral Town. It’s still just as good as I remember it being. If I had to pick any concern, it’s just that it’s a lot of the same. Don’t get me wrong, I still really recommend this game, even if it is $49.99. I was just hoping for something more substantial in terms of changes. I’ll still be playing and revisiting this game just like every other game in the series, and I’m glad it’s on newer hardware so I can introduce more people to it. If you’re curious, you can find the game both on Steam and the Nintendo Switch on July 14th.
Ultimately, Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town is a serviceable and cute farming simulator, albeit a little shallow.
Heartwarming interactions, easy to grasp farming mechanics, and upbeat graphics and soundtrack provide any fans of the farm sim genre an enjoyable experience. For old fans of the series, this is a fine remake with nice improved updates to bring back some great memories, and for new players this offers a well-executed farming sim experience with a great gameplay loop.
An interesting reboot of an old series. Shows its age in some ways, but it is a great way to revisit this franchise.
Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town oozes with charm and great gameplay mechanics that allow for an enjoyable farming simulator that remains a bit too simple at times.
A faithful recreation, but why go back when Stardew has since perfected the genre?
It’s a game with a lot of love in it and is definitely worth a look if you’re craving some more of the great outdoors.
"Friends from the past."

STORY OF SEASONS: Friends of Mineral Town, being a remake of my favorite game in the series, is one I had high hopes for it and I’m thrilled to say that it did not disappoint! I have loved every second I have played of this wonderful title and the few negative things I can find about it are that in today's day and age, it could have benefitted greatly with voice actors in addition to wishing you could set up your own market as you could in Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life for the GameCube. Beyond that, I really like this remake as it brought back so many memories of when I was a kid playing Back to Nature on the PlayStation. Even the music in this new game seems to be remixes of the original! If you like relaxing laid-back games then give this game a try!
This revival is a lost opportunity, where monotony outweighs any bit of fun that gameplay strives to give us.

If you’re looking for something to fill that post-Animal Crossing hole in your life, or are just simply a fan of the farm sim genre in general, don’t miss out on this one.
If you’re looking for something to sink hours into and enjoy a slow, steady stroll rather than an action-packed sprint, Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town might just be for you.
Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town is a remake that builds on the original in all the right ways, and is recommended for anyone looking for a quaint, charming farm story to sink some time into. In some ways, it may be shallow and a little outdated, but overall it makes for a lovely experience.
Gamers that have already poured hundreds of hours into Animal Crossing: New Horizons would do well to check out Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town. The game offers a similarly laid-back experience with a number of options that allow players to tailor it the way that they see fit. It certainly won't be for everyone, but the farm RPG offers a wonderful take on one of the most beloved Harvest Moon entries.
We return to Mineral Town with a great facelift that bets on the simplicity of mechanics and simplicity in its menus and staging. We will find a very classic adventure in the style of Harvest Moon, where we get lost for days harvesting and improving our farm, but it is somewhat decaffeinated and empty in these times, being a very brief option in terms of ambition.
