Dirt 5 provides a more approachable racer that acts as a decent successor to Dirt 4 and Dirt Rally while taking on the series in a few different ways. Diehard series fans might miss some of the more simulation aspects from the series, but Codemasters definitely found a healthy balance of the two offerings. Sure, you might not be blown away by the graphics, but you won’t go wrong adding this fun racer to you next-gen launch catalog.

DiRT 5 is a mix of arcade-style racer and racing simulation. While the driving isn’t as stiff as typical racing sims, it doesn’t require careful manipulation around corners and also while stuck in a pack of vehicles.

All in all, Dirt 5 sets the gold standard for a next-gen arcade racing experience. It’s good when played solo, but the experience is even better when played with a friend.

Dirt 5 is a real showcase of what the next-generation can do. It's also the best chapter of the series, with a brand new campaign and a lot of contents.

It’s fun, it’s fast, it’s spectacular. Do we truly need more from an arcade racer?

Overall, Dirt 5 is a well-thought-out off-road package that is built upon a successful foundation. Satisfying driving, robust physics, and weather effects remain core to the experience and content is aplenty. The game’s playground mode is a wonderful addition that will help spark its players’ creative juices. While Dirt 5’s graphics and effects are impressive, it does have technical issues like pop-ins and weird audio bugs. A day-one patch and GPU driver optimization should address these issues. All in all, Dirt 5 continues the trend of Codemaster’s already impressive racing pedigree.

DIRT 5 brings you a lot of fun - as a very diverse arcade racing, it's nothing of the simulation DIRT 4 partly was. DIRT 5 is a bit unfinished at times though, with a lot of tearing on Xbox One X and the career mode also seems lukewarm.

Dirt 5 shows up on the market with a convincing formula that aims to entertain players with the possibility of participating in many and well diversified races with tracks and circuits achieved almost to perfection. The visual impact is surely the part that astonishes most in this Codemasters’ work with tracks and effects that wrap the entire experience and make it surprising even within an only race.

Dirt 5 isn't particularly deep, but it's fast, frantic, extremely handsome, and buoyed by a superb stunt track editor.

If you're the type of person who plays racing games for hundreds of hours, Dirt 5 might let you down and I completely understand why. But for everyone else, it's a very accessible and personality-filled game that should keep you busy for a while.

Dirt 5 it's a fun and entertaining arcade racer that had born between two generations and, while we're waiting to see the PS5 & Xbox Series X version, that's something that you can feel. It's fun, made for everyone and with a ton of content, but there are problems with textures, mantaining the 60 fps in performance mode and long loading times.

Dirt 5 is a departure from earlier entries in the series, as it goes full arcade racer. That’s to its credit though, as the actual racing is satisfying and exciting. This means that the vehicles and their customization options feel a bit shallow, which could disappoint some fans. Thanks to an incredible Playgrounds mode and some pretty next-gen visuals, Dirt 5 is a solid offering from Developer Codemasters.

I’m a big fan of Dirt 5. It’s not going to garner the praise of a Gran Turismo or a Forza, but it’s exactly the kind of game I was after. It’s fun, easy to get into, full of variety, looks pretty, and features cars that slide beautifully around corners. Dirt 5 is a feel-good game at feel-bad time, which is about the best time for it to exist.

DiRT 5 feels like a game that is built to showcase new hardware. Still, if players stick with the frame rate mode it works just fine on the last generation as well. I cannot wait to dig in once I get my Series X, but even on One X this game is truly a looker. The game play feels fantastic, it just feels like a game that will showcase better on more powerful hardware.

Overall Dirt 5 is a real blast play. With the gameplay not being too strict, it gives you that feeling of being an arcade racing king without having to leave the comfort of your own home. There are some area's like online that need some fine-tuning but these are all issues that could be solved with a future update.
