Cribbing Breath of the Wild is a strength even as Immortals iterates and takes its own twist. And the deep dive into Greek mythology ends up being a fascinating foundation upon whose shoulders the entire premise rests. From the first magnificent glide onto the Golden Isle, Immortals Fenyx Rising is an unforgettable treat that surprised me more than I thought it would.

Deviating from the norm, the game's unique design and structure help Immortals be one of Ubisoft's most focused adventures and easily one of their most enjoyable yet.
Though Immortals Fenyx Rising may borrow familiar elements from other series, this new IP from Ubisoft establishes a unique identity through the lens of Greek mythology by using humor, intelligent puzzles, powerful combat, and clever world building.
It’s genuinely thrilling to see a game like Immortals Fenyx Rising, which has taken the often discussed and sometimes criticised Ubisoft open world, and taken full advantage of it, with a light-hearted tone and so much charisma from its cast and script that it’s impossible not to crack a smile when playing.
Immortals is more than just a fun open-world with slick combat and massive Breath of the Wild vibes, it's also a superbly written and legitimately funny take on Greek mythology. This is one of Ubisoft's best games in years
Immortals: Fenyx Rising doesn't have any right to be as good as it turned out to be.
A game that amazed me with the beauty of the open world, a world that makes you thirsty all the time to explore more and more to see the changing regions and the huge statues that are distinctive signs that make you feel the beauty of the world, despite the long boring story dialogue and damp squib jokes, I enjoyed every minute I spent with every mystery, fight, ruins, and Rift I searched for something new.

Immortals Fenyx Rising may not be the most original game in the universe, but it manages to appropriate many of the best game features that have inspired it to create something new, fun and captivating. By offering a great balance between combat, puzzles and exploration, as well as a well-resolved artistic style, it proves to be one of the best surprises of the year.

An epic open-world Action RPG with a tonne of content and genuinely enjoyable exploration makes for a great new IP. There are a few niggles with controls and loading times, and it's not always clear what you need to do, but when the game is this much fun, I'm happy to overlook those.
Immortals Fenyx Rising is a title that sits somewhere between the legend of Zelda and Assassin's Creed Odyssey. The reason for comparing it to a title like Zelda is often summed up in artistic graphics, a similar endurance system, and the use of puzzles. But Immortals Fenyx Rising is more than just a clone, and we see one of Ubisoft's most well-made games in this generation.

I hope everyone gets a chance to play Immortals: Fenyx Rising because there is a lot of fun to be had here. I found its world more interesting than Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla to the point where I actually wanted to go places and solve every single puzzle. Its combat is addictive and its character build system means you can approach it from so many ways. All this combines to deliver a fantastic adventure worth your time. Don’t let this game pass you by.

But overall, this is a fantastic new IP for Ubisoft and they should be commended for allowing this development team to pursue an idea that sprung out of the Assassin’s Creed development.
Immortals: Fenyx Rising truly took me by surprise.
In short, Immortals Fenyx Rising is my game of the year 2020, it has everything that a good game has to have in my world. A setting which is fascinating and beautiful at the same time. The huge world just screams "Explore me, experience me", and I followed this scream with skin and hair. I found myself swinging onto my blue horse and just riding around in the area, simply because I liked the surroundings so much. The urge to explore is satisfied throughout the whole game and leaves nothing to be desired. If you want to do dungeons, no problem. If you want to improve the health bar of Fenyx, well, then you just have to look for it. You can invest more than a hundred hours in the game without getting really bored. The only thing that disturbed me was the funny slapstick humor that is present throughout the game. If you have a preference for Open World titles and can relate to Greek mythology, the title is a must buy. If you want to dive into the genre for the first time, the title is a must buy. If you want to make your dearest (gambling) person happy for the upcoming Christmas, then Immortals Fenyx Rising is a compulsory purchase.

Immortals Fenyx Rising was forgotten for a while, but returned and proved to be a great highlight in this end of generation and among other major releases. The game ends Ubisoft's year with an attractive storyline and characters with fun personalities, dynamic gameplay full of challenges that guarantee dozens of hours of gaming. The title is a pleasant surprise that relaxes and challenges any type of player.

Ubisoft Quebec has created an incredibly fun (and funny) open world experience for the realm of the Grecian gods. It has its own combat style, narrative style, dungeon-crawling style, and, yes, art style. And it’s delightful.
I could probably harp on about Immortals for another few thousand words, but I’ll save you the rant. I will, however, leave you with this: Immortals Fenyx Rising is really good. The humour may not be for everyone, but there’s a ton more here than you might expect, and I think it’s worth your time if you’re into open-world action-adventure games. It may not bring much new to the table, but it’s a 30-50 hour journey that I’m super happy I went on – and you should too.
There’s a particular value in this work, a source of optimism, humor and joy emerging from a non-Nintendo developer at a time when it might be needed most. The world is an ugly place, but Immortals wants to remind us there are good parts, too.
From the more simplified and streamlined combat and upgrade systems to the lack of weapons and gear deterioration, Fenyx Rising allows players to simply focus on the journey and all the joy and sense of wonder that comes with it. With the year we've all had in 2020, I don't know what more gamers could ask for from a new IP in an industry consistently drowning in an ocean or reboots, remakes, and remasters.
