If you love horror games, you don't want to miss this game. Although Supermassive Games did a great job, they couldn't add much innovation to Man of Medan.

The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope is an unoriginal game and, in many ways, a repetition of previous Supermassive Games titles that still suffer from acting problems. However, the mood and atmosphere of its story is similar to the Silent Hill series which turns this title into a heartwarming experience for horror fans.

Where Man of Medan (slightly) failed to meet the standards set by Until Dawn, The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope comes closer to what I wanted to see from these games. Though it’s not quite the fun-filled, horror-fuelled romp that Until Dawn gifted us with, it’s a lot more spooky and immersive than Man of Medan. Little Hope is a must-play for horror fans, and it’s one totally deserving of a place in your games library.

However you choose to experience the game, Little Hope restores players' faith in Supermassive Games to continue making decent narrative horror titles. The story ties together well regardless of player decisions, and there's a great mix of character personalities. Friendlier QTEs and better character movement make the title an improvement over Man of Medan, and there are barely any technical issues. The Dark Pictures Anthology has a bright future ahead.

Overall, The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope is far closer to Until Dawn than Man of Medan was. It is a horror movie wrapped in a video game shell that makes for a thrilling, tense, and frightening experience whether you are playing solo or with a good friend.

Like any other game from Supermassive, the visuals in Little Hope are superb and the atmosphere is super engaging, making you feel everything that the devs wanted you to feel. That said, the implementation of gameplay mechanics sometimes go horribly wrong and prevents the game from delivering a solid final product.

It's hard to say whether this game is better than Man of Medan, but in terms of story and ending Little Hope feels like a step-backwards. The characters were also not as interesting, despite having some cool moments. Where Little Hope excels is with its varied spooky locations which lend themselves far better to the horror experience than the gloomy and often confined ship interior of the previous game.

It seems that Supermassive didn't have enough time to fully realize the potential of "Little Hope". There's less interactivity and branching of the story here in comparison to previous studio's titles. This year's project is okay, but Supermassive definitely can do better.

The Dark Pictures: Little Hope is a stronger second offering in the standalone horror game series. A more engaging story and interesting setting help overcome the shortcomings in gameplay.

The latest entry in The Dark Pictures Anthology delivers on the scares but really drops the ball during the run-up to its lackluster ending.

The latest Dark Pictures Anthology installment takes narrative risks and refines mechanical gameplay. While I still take issue with photorealistic graphics, Little Hope is still worth visiting.

While it’s a step up from last year’s Man of Medan, Little Hope is a flawed second entry in Supermassive’s horror anthology series. Its gameplay is better than ever and the story has moments of gold, but this tale of witchcraft and horrifying demons can’t help but be overwhelmed by its lofty scope and frustrating narrative issues.

Little Hope is a fun way to burn a couple of hours by yourself and a fantastic way to spend a night with friends but is let down by a disappointing conclusion, some uninspired performances, and general pacing issues.

I love horror stories, and I love anthologies so I’m not surprised I’m a big fan of the Dark Pictures Anthology. Little Hope is another solid entry that at it’s core is all about player choice. SuperMassive seem to have big plans for the future of the series, which they’ve been public about, and even with the small tease of the next entry coming in 2021, I’m certainly excited to see how the series continues to grow and where the Curator will take us next.

The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope maintains the strengths and weaknesses of its predecessor, not daring to go much further. The new adjustments, such as the presence of alerts in the QTEs, the practically impeccable translation into Portuguese and the use of familar themes of witches and occult are interesting, but small. Despite this modest claim, the title fulfills its purpose and is an excellent horror game that represents the genre well, with a plot that offers good doses of tension and mystery to explore.

Little Hope managed to actually give me some hope for this series after Man of Medan ultimately failed to deliver anything other than a lacklustre experience.

But Little Hope’s ending ruined the game for me. It invalidates everything that came before it so thoroughly that I can’t help but feel like it was probably a waste of time.

Supermassive's latest entry will please fans, but the improvements to its gameplay continue to lag behind the well-crafted story.
