After playing through Little Nightmares II, I was left scratching my head. It is creepy, bizarre, and utterly brilliant.

Little Nightmares 2 is a little gem for those who want to enjoy a less splatter and more psychological horror experience. The Swedish team has managed to re-propose with an improved look the formula seen in the first chapter, which catapults us into an even darker world than the one seen previously. The new monsters are even more disturbing and make even more the idea of oppression that the title wants to convey. Surely some more playful element would have pleased, starting from the not too high longevity, and from some greater interaction with Six, which in any case all in all manages to be a good companion of gloomy adventures.

Little Nightmares II manages to ratchet up the tension in every conceivable way that is dreadful without ever truly being scary. Tarsier Studios has brought out the best of themselves here. With a longer campaign, a larger world to soak up, and more creatures to experience, this is a bigger and better game in every regard. Little Nightmares II doesn’t reuse a single trick, has compelling reasons to experience this terrifying ordeal, and will encourage you to do it all over again to find its secrets.

Tense, beautifully rendered and armed with some fantastic sound design, Little Nightmares II is an unnerving deep dive into a nightmarish world you’ll never want to leave. The game is a shining example of how to do horror right.

Games like Little Nightmares 2 once again define the meaning of quality and an interactive effect in a deafening silence and without a particular expectation. Thanks to a strong surreal story, exemplary suspense, eye-catching artistic design and very good sounding, the game will take you to another world for a few hours.

Like a moth enchanted by a pretty flame, Little Nightmares 2 draws you in with its fiery passion but leaves you with sweaty palms and adrenaline running through your heart wandering “what just happened?” I still don’t know how to answer this question.

I can only say that I find it unfair that games of this type do not take as many spotlights as other releases. With fewer resources than great productions, this title has been able to convey to me some sensations that I haven't felt for a long time than I felt at the controls of a video game. We've all had nightmares once when we've felt small and helpless, and at times this new installment of Little Nightmares knows how to make us feel identically.‎

Little Nightmares II is a sequel that everyone can love especially those die-hard fans of the franchise. You’re still greeted with unexpected threats lurking in every dark corner, the uneasy feeling you get when you walk through corridors and windows, and the unexpected twist at the end. I had a great time in my 5-6 hours of playthrough and I can say, it’s worth binging through all the chapters in one sitting. But that ending, wow.

Little Nigthmares 2 had a potential to a fantastic experience on par with such classics as Limbo or Inside. Although its world’s design is absolutely fantastic and action keeps you on your seat’s edge, the game lacks quite a bit in the gameplay department, especially when it comes to the camera perspective.

If your heart condition is adequate and you are good at controlling both puzzles and escapes, Little Nightmares II is a must for you. Its mechanics and level design are great, creating a game that can be used as a reference for the next generations in what it proposes to do: terrorize, involve and induce logical reasoning without major frustrations of the player. It is a pity that the story is not integraded in the game — key plot information is available on the internet and not in the gameplay.

Little Nightmares 2 is a spooky puzzle adventure game. The sound and graphics build an apprehensive atmosphere and GETTING SCARED is a possibility that’s always there. You play as Mono and have an AI friend called Six. Together, you will solve puzzles, escape from morbid creatures, kill some of them, and for completionist gamers, there are hats, souls, and achievements to collect. Puzzles’ difficulty varies from easy to hard, to beat the game you need to complete all 5 chapters of the story. To have the best gameplay experience, HEADPHONES ARE A MUST to fully immerse in that dark world.

Little Nightmares II then – a grimy, grotesque and greasy journey through a city of nightmares, it’s inhabitants a collection of melted skin and incorrect proportions, a twisted take on the world around us, with everything good and pure buried under an all powerful darkness. A journey worth not just experiencing, but one you deserve to survive through too. Will you be able to recall all the details once you’ve woken up? Probably – but you may not want to do so. Not yet. Let the nightmare fade first. Let the light come back in.

Little Nightmares II is an intense and atmospheric scary experience, which, however, is a bit weak on the gameplay side. The character and sound design are still excellently staged, the entertaining puzzles fit well into the minimalistic concept and the whimsical design fascinates from the first minute on. Nevertheless, the unintuitive and sluggish controls keep nibbling away at our frustration tolerance, and the trail & error concept unfortunately repeatedly pulls us out of the intense atmosphere. Like its predecessor, Little Nightmares II may not be a hardcore horror, but it is a likeable and entertaining thrill ride that will keep you entertained for a few hours.

If you were excitedly waiting for the second part, the sequel will certainly not disappoint you, quite the opposite. Great action and horror scenes, scary enemies, interesting puzzles, harmonious underlining music, strong emotions, an outlined story that raises questions and a unique stylization of the world of Little Nightmares await you. However, for enthusiastic players of horror games, it will not be such a strong experience due to the content of the same episodes, and therefore predictability. We were left with so many questions about the unexplained story that we wouldn't be surprised if we got a third part from the developers at Tarsier Studios in the future.

Little Nightmares II offers an atmospheric romp inside a crazed, surreal world. Part horror, a little stealth with some platform-puzzle solving tossed-in make this a joy to play. It is short in length though, so bear that in mind if you are on a budget and perhaps wait for a sale. Some fiddly controls might get the better of you at times as well, but persevere and you have a very good game well worth checking out.
