EVERSPACE 2 Reviews
EVERSPACE 2 had a bit of a rocky start just like its predecessor, but can still receive a standing ovation. With an incredible story, brilliant visuals and sound design, this game is very close to being a masterpiece. The only letdown is that travel in general seems slow for a game that’s supposed to be fast-paced, only time will tell if that changes or stays the same.
This is a sequel that has truly outdone itself. While some fans may prefer the original rogue-like experience, this iteration delivers unparalleled performance and next-level immersion.
Excellent graphics and a very good combat system are stained by a story component that is subpar. A shame, because Everspace 2 could have otherwise aspired to the heights of Freelancer.

I started Everspace 2 deeply unsure about a space looter shooter. Tens of hours later I don't want to play anything else. Everspace 2 is a towering achievement of space-based thrills and spills. It absolutely deserves your attention.
Everspace 2 might seem like more of the same, especially thanks to its plodding prologue, but there's more going on here than you see at first glance. There's a stronger sense of place, better story, and more interesting cast that feel like they fulfill the original game's potential. Exploration is better than ever, and while combat hasn't changed too much, the careful balancing act of managing your resources makes every encounter feel fresh and exciting.
Everspace 2 has arrived at the release in perfect shape, with a captivating art direction and a solid and fun playful recipe. The gameplay mechanics are simple, but by mastering them you can perform exciting vaults and shootouts.

Frantic, spectacular and fun, Everspace 2 is limited only by its own abundance, that can stun the player.

Don't mind me complaining about its monotony, a game with a similar sense of action and exploration comes along once in a blue moon. Fans of sci-fi set in space should not miss it.

EVERSPACE 2 looks and plays amazingly with its intuitive and satisfying space combat and exploration. Even though it gets repetitive after a while, what's here still adds up to a special game that you'll gladly take off to the outer reaches of space for.
Everspace 2 isn’t a breakthrough or a significant step forward in the genre, but it’s not exactly trying to be. An extremely engaging and gorgeous space shooter supported by a gripping storyline, the action is frantic and head-turning and cunningly balanced by the interior sections with a puzzle approach. Forget any complex simulation aspects and profound economic systems, indulge yourself in this vast galaxy (somewhat) open to exploration, and enjoy the heated dogfights, even if every once in a while, curse words may echo within the labyrinthine confines of a derelict metallic husk.
Controls were tight, and the minute-to-minute gameplay just feels great and smooth. I could live without the loot system, but even then the worst crime it commits is being bland. It’s a good game, a very solid space sim. My issues stem from its failure to stand out.
Endgame content in the form of Ancient Rifts open up to send waves of enemies at players who can unlock legendary weapons and gear with unique properties if skilled enough. Even when playing on Easy mode, missions can be difficult and often challenge players to readjust their approach to each battle with consideration. Taking on tough missions with a friend would be a satisfying addition to the game. Still, Everspace 2 contains enough gameplay variation and fun space combat to scratch the itch any wannabe pilots has been hoping to find in a sci-fi space shooter.
Everspace 2 isn’t perfection, but much like your favorite kid, it doesn’t need to be. At the end of the day, it’s an enjoyable experience that will give back what you put into it.
Everspace 2 is a solidly successful sequel, offering players more of what they loved from the first game while shifting away from the rogue-like trappings. The game provides a larger world with higher stakes, improved story, and more ship customization options.
Everspace 2 is the looter-shooter for space jockeys and wannabe pilots, packed with cool ship classes and action-driven arcade dogfights to keep up the pace.
A full-on space opera looter shooter RPG, that is brimming with content and exciting combat set pieces, but which doesn't quite know when to stop before it starts to feel repetitive.
After a couple of years in early access, can Everspace 2 live up to its promise?
Everspace 2 is a fine adventure, but, on the other hand, joy from its core gameplay dries up too quickly.

Everspace 2 does have some repetitive content and the story is a tad underwhelming, but the content loop is about as enjoyable as you’ll find anywhere with satisfying combat, thrilling exploration and discovery, and some intriguing puzzles to solve. It looks incredible, sounds wonderful and there are few space exploration games that are as approachable and engaging as this one, with even fewer able to cross genres so successfully.
