Deathloop is a highlight of 2021 releases and a great time loop adventure with solid combat abilities, a gripping story with fun characters, and smart systems that bypass some of the restrictions of its narrative form. There are some issues with the game in regards to the ending, enemies, and how hand-holding the game can be, but I think the game’s competent blend of inspirations can make some of those points easy to forget.

To conclude then. Deathloop is a great concept that knows its own boundaries and sticks to it with a sensible aplomb. Colt is a lovable rogue, against a backdrop of some accomplished gameplay Arkane have honed from their other games. There is not much to dislike about this game aside from a few niggles such as no in-level checkpoints for those crashing to desktop moments. Odd AI behaviour that doesn’t feel out-of-place, but comes across somewhat sloppy. However, niggles become outweighed greatly by an awesome soundtrack and voice acting, alongside great visuals making this a must-play title as we near the end of 2021. Hopefully, Bethesda/Arkane look to develop the IP further.

Deathloop is simply a masterpiece. The story, characters, visuals, multiplayer, etc. are unbelievably enjoyable, and Deathloop is a gateway to the future of gaming, and this should make you very excited as to what’s in store.

Deathloop is one of the most original and different productions we have seen and played recently. It is an unique experience that mixes different stages, character, gameplay and music in an amazing way.

It’s worth noting that the main mechanical difference between Deathloop and Dishonored is that you can kill without moral consequence here. That’s liberating, but while it’s nice, and hilarious, that kicking enemies into the ocean is such a key part of Deathloop’s gameplay, there isn’t a whole lot that’s interesting about that. For a stealthy FPS that prides itself on the steady accumulation of power and understanding, the game also rarely makes either one feel particularly exhilarating. But, in the end, Deathloop’s almost perversely ironic saving grace is that it’s populated with charismatic weirdos who are just as irked about that as you are.

It should be said that in making Deathloop, the studio has achieved its main goal of presenting a fascinating story, a vibrant environment and a variety of gameplay, and some small flaws in the field of artificial intelligence and the online section can't stop the superbness of the Deathloop game.

Another day, another loop, and with each new timeloop, Deathloop has me even more impressed. This Murder Puzzle on Blackreef is a highly engaging sandbox for experimental players, and a surprisingly complex detective game with its heart in the right place and the loop in every last detail of its DNA.

Arkane Studios has succeeded in creating a game that features a mix of several genres. Its a shooter, rogue-like, investigation game with RPG elements and it excel in each. The balance between all of those is truly a masterstroke that players will love.

Deathloop seems at times like an attempt by Arkane to make its distinctive formula more accessible, so that it can finally boost its mainstream appeal. But we are always talking about a title of the highest quality, with a concept and a structure that are masterfully executed, an excellent multiplayer and a multi-level and creative gameplay.

Ever feel like you are just playing the same day over and over? Feel like you are stuck in a rut? Well, in Deathloop from Arkane Studios on the PlayStation 5, you are. It’s like Groundhog Day with guns, supernatural abilities and murder. I had seen a little on the title before I slipped the disc into my PlayStation 5 but little did I know what I was letting myself in for.

Deathloop is a fun, vibrant shooter with an excellent art direction and a stunning soundtrack. For a game all about replayability though, this has a surprising lack of it once you’ve broken the loop.

Deathloop is one of the titles that will remain as a reference point in the current generation, and if nothing else, it shows that the Arkane's engine is working at full speed and there really seems to be no limit for the creators.

Arkane puts a twist on his seasoned formula. The best of his other works can be found here. Gameplay, level design, mechanics ... All at the service of a Rogue-Like structure, which the studio has managed to bring to its field. Deathloop will not leave anyone indifferent, we assure you.

Deathloop is a great game that offers excellent gunplay and abilities with only a few minor cons. However, it doesn't feel it could be anyone's favourite game, and you could find a better experience in Arkane's previous titles.

Deathloop's ending leaves plenty of questions and may not satisfy everyone, but there is plenty to love about the game and plenty more to see when another instalment graces our press conferences.

Deathloop offers unique gameplay and a whole new experience for action-adventure genre lovers. I haven’t seen so much innovation in a game in a while, and I loved every second of playing. While some issues definitely need addressing, overall I still think the game will be a candidate for game of the year and will set new standards for development concepts.

With Deathloop, Arkane Lyon has at least two merits: that of launching a new IP, the industry needs it continuously, and trying to think outside the box, while keeping their trademark as well as their strengths. Its multiplayer part, as long as it involves a real player and not the AI, brings a tension that we would not have suspected without getting our hands on it. What's more, it has the luxury of combining successful FPS gameplay with a level design that, once again, demonstrates all the talent of the developers (if there was any need for yet another proof).

While Deathloop is overall entertaining thanks to its own way to slowly unfold the narrative around Blackreef with well crafted level design. It is held back by its terrible AI, lack of weapon variety and boring stealth.
