Guilty Gear -Strive- is a very competent modern fighting game that will appease both veterans and newcomers alike. With a gripping plot, enjoyable cast of characters, and steady learning curve the game is set to be one of the series’ most popular entries. I know for myself, I am keen to get stuck into the nitty gritty as I get deeper with the game, and will eventually take my skills online for the real test against actual human players. While I am disappointed the story side of Guilty Gear -Strive- is relegated to a cinematic story, the plot is rich with drama and stands toe-to-toe with actual anime productions made for TV. Some variety in the battle dialogue and narration wouldn’t have gone astray, either, but in the grand scheme of things is a minor ding against an otherwise brilliant fighter.
Guilty Gear -Strive- is perhaps not as revolutionary as the creators promised us, but it's still a very good brawl with some fresh solutions. For fans of the genre, the position is mandatory!

Guilty Gear Strive is a hyperbolic exercise in style in the fighting genre, the next step in a path initiated by Arc System Works that combines form and substance to create a new instalment that reaffirms the strength of a saga that, despite being niche, is practically undeniable. Lucid to achieve that "easy to play, difficult to master", as precise as it is enjoyable in combat and concise in its proposal. A must for fans of the genre and a safe bet for anyone in the mood for great fights to the rhythm of good guitar playing.

Guilty Gear Strive is an overall excellent package with a few bumps, but nothing to derail it off the tracks. Many consider this the first true next gen fighting game for the 9th generation of consoles. By all accounts then, things are off to a fantastic start.
One of the best looking video games ever made and the most accessible Guilty Gear has ever been, with impressively deep combat and memorable characters.
The talented Japanese team has created its greatest work and, beyond what will be the reception of the general public, has given shape to a stylistic and gameplay masterpiece, capable of synthesizing the needs of players with almost opposite characteristics.

Guilty Gear Strive is easily the best fighting game of 2021 so far, and there doesn't seem to be much on the horizon that can top it. If you're looking for a new fighting game to play this year, this is the easiest decision you'll ever make.
When all is said and done, Guilty Gear -Strive- offers a bit of everything for fighting game fans. It’s not perfect by any means, but it’s full of style and that heavy metal spirit that will rock your socks off. Gameplay packs a mean punch while delivering rocking tunes to your ears. The visuals maintain the Ars System Works quality while also delivering fantastic new designs for the great cast of characters.
Guilty Gear -Strive- is a fantastic anime fighting game with excellent presentation and some of the best online around. The story is gripping and I found myself approaching it more like an anime. It doesn’t feel like a tacked-on mode for a fighting game. That said, it’s not all positive. It feels like the complete package, but be it a change of the times or a need to push a Season Pass, it feels quite lacking compared to some of the previous games. It’s a shame. The core product is some of the most fun I’ve ever personally had with the series. That said, the amount of content, care, and the eclectic roster within the previous XRD games makes me favor them. For newcomers though there has never been a better title to get you acclimatized to the weird and wacky world of Sol Badguy and friends.
Guilty Gear Strive is an awesome game, simply put.
Guilty Gear is back in a moment of stagnation for a genre that still has so much to offer by addressing an audience of players made up of hardcore players and newbies.

If you don't want to take it online, there are Arcade and Survival modes available, but that's also something one has to consider before diving in given how much more of the experience opens up with multiplayer options. For fans who have been waiting to see how Guilty Gear evolves, Guilty Gear -Strive- is an intense experience that should ultimately exceed the expectations of veteran players. For those curious about this franchise and are looking for a great way in, there's no better time to do so than now as the fighter is more welcoming than ever. Guilty Gear is back, and it wants everyone to party.
With Guilty Gear Strive, Arc System Works has made its famously complex fighting game series easier to get into, but no less rewarding.
A gorgeous and satisfying fighter with a net code that makes intercontinental matches possible. Dripping with style, with more characters and modes, it wouldn't be a stretch to call it revolutionary.
