Death Stranding Director's Cut Reviews
Death Stranding: Director's Cut provides the best Strand experience without changing too much. This version offers new content and features making an overall good experience even better.
Death Standing: Director's Cut is the definitive version of the game. It's gorgeous and runs at 60 frames per second, while including everything from the PC version. The new missions are a bit too light on content, but they round out the experience nicely.
Featuring 4K textures, smooth frame rates, and new content that complements the core story, Death Stranding: Director's Cut tops the vanilla game in nearly every way.
Who is this new version of Death Stranding for? The answer is extremely simple: for those who enjoyed and appreciated the work of metal Gear's father. Of course, it is also a product designed for those who at the time, overlooked it for whatever reason. If you are in this situation and you are already the proud owner of a PS5, I would tell you that this is the best opportunity to try one of the best titles of the last generation of consoles and discover for yourself, why it is that we say it is so special. I repeat, as someone who spent several tens of hours two years ago with the game, I would have loved to have an expansion the size of Iki Island that allowed me to know more about the lives of all these characters who made me go through such good times, even so, it was a delight to go back through these desolate landscapes with Sam Porter Bridges.

The improvements to the early part of the game really help you feel ready for the rest of your adventure. Although it shares elements of lots of games it also does a great job in feeling unique. There isn’t much else like Death Stranding and the Director’s Cut helps refine an intriguing game to be the best it can be.
Death Stranding Director's cut is far more accessible than the original game, and maybe a bit too easy when compared with what it was before. If you haven't played or didn't enjoy it the first time around, then these new additions, which are mostly optional, certainly push towards a more action-oriented experience, that might not necessarily be an improvement but definitely adds a bit more fun into the gameplay.
Death Stranding: Director’s Cut is easily the best version of Kojima’s latest game. The new features and additions are more than worth the $10 upgrade for existing owners. Visually the game always looked amazing, but the new higher resolution just showcases the details even better. For anyone who enjoyed the original this upgrade is easy to recommend. For those that never played it, this is the version to get. I continue to think about this game on a weekly basis and enjoyed revisiting it with the new content.
The superstar developer's latest is still a post-apocalyptic folly – but is now available in photorealistic splendour with quirky haptic feedback features
Overall, Death Stranding Director’s Cut is solid as a PS5 port, but underwhelming as a Director’s Cut. If you were expecting a big new story expansion akin to Iki Island, then you’ll be disappointed by this Director’s Cut. If you just want to jump back into Death Stranding for a few hours in 60 FPS, then you’ll have a decent time. I wish more could have been done on the story front, but Death Stranding Director’s Cut is still a solid experience on PS5.
When playing the original version of Death Stranding, I would have described it as lethargic with some horror elements when dealing the monsters.
Death Stranding: Director's Cut is a unique game, the product of a volcanic mind capable of creating a fascinating, visually stunning world with unique gameplay mechanics. The downside, however, is missions that become repetitive and tedious in the long run, with an obsession with extremely long and tedious dialogue. A work dominated by genius and unruliness, a true auteur game that we recommend everyone try at least once.

Death Stranding: Director's Cut is the most personal work of Hideo Kojima, a game that some will love and others not so much. If after reading the analysis you are interested in what it proposes, it is recommended, but always taking into account what it is. Some of the additions in this edition are interesting, such as the new scenes. On the other hand, some of the objects that facilitate the experience may not be to everyone's liking.

Death Stranding Director's Cut took a good game from Playstation 4 and brought it to the next generation in the best possible way. Every Playstation 5 player should try this game.

Hideo Kojima's games are either liked or not. I'm one of the first ones, and Death Stranding on PS5 allowed me to relive this great adventure. Although I admit that the additional story content and simplification of gameplay are a slight disappointment.

Death Stranding: Director's Cut is easily the best way to play the game. The additions are numerous and bound to help players make their journey across America much more palatable. If you're someone who gave up on Death Stranding because you found it to be too frustrating or long-winded, the Director's Cut additions could be enough to lure you back. If you're someone who's played the game to death already, there's probably not a whole lot of reason to come back given how little extra content there is.
Death Stranding Director's Cut is the extended version of the game, with new missions and an organic expansion of the story. Not to forget the new objects, locations and the considerable improvements in their combat, with new animations and combos. I assure you that, if you go beyond the first stage, where the game is much rougher with the player, you will no longer be able to stop. An outstanding graphic and artistic level that leaves no one indifferent, a spectacular and expanded soundtrack for the occasion, with a perfect song for every moment. Human characters with whom you will connect, for their stories and strength to overcome and, others, you will simply hate them. In part, thanks to the large cast of actors and voices.

Though the additions to this newly reinvigorated version of Death Stranding might be considered to be superfluous by die-hard Kojima fans, there's no denying that Death Stranding Director's Cut is the definitive version to play Kojima's most recent opus on console, thanks to an opulent visual makeover and a wealth of quality of life improvements. Though still remaining divisive at its core, Death Stranding Director's Cut is absolutely the best way to see the hype surrounding Kojima's most esoteric work.
Easily the best way to experience building bridges across America, Death Stranding Director's Cut is less of the final cut one might expect from Kojima himself and moreso a collection of novel enhancements to make this the best looking and best feeling way to experience this unique title.
I very much enjoyed Death Stranding on the PS4, and that hasn't changed after playing through Death Stranding: Director's Cut on the PS5. It's not perfect in its overall story and gameplay execution, and it isn't a game that everyone will enjoy. If you can get past that, it's still is a uniquely rewarding experience that looks and plays better on a PS5, and it's one of the few PS5 titles that doesn't demand a fortune to upgrade for existent owners. At the same time, the content additions are a bit thin and don't add a lot to the experience, so the upgrades in visuals and performance are likely the main reason to upgrade your version.
