There's a tonne of great stuff to see and do in Dawn of Ragnarök and just by existing it gives me hope for the future of Assassin's Creed. If Ubisoft continues to be willing to throw the rulebook out and experiment with the IP, we're in for some very good times indeed.

Thanks to its new weapons, excellent characters and nuanced narrative, Dawn Of Ragnarök comes closer than ever before to breaking free of AC Valhalla’s template. Though it can’t entirely escape some over-familiar mission types, Dawn Of Ragnarök does a great job of pulling together several strands from the main game and prior expansions. Svartalfheim and Odin’s quest give AC Valhalla renewed energy and should please both fans and maybe entice some newcomers to dip into the franchise. Dawn Of Ragnarök is a substantial and overall impressive addition to the series.

Dawn of Ragnarok is the perfect expansion for what the latest trilogy in the Assassin's Creed franchise set out to tell. With a fun new world to explore, new skills and, most importantly, a very well written story that should please longtime fans of the series.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla - Dawn of Ragnarok is a sizeable expansion offering a gorgeous new realm to explore, memorable characters, while new abilities such as the Hugr-Rip adds a new dimension to combat and traversal. Beyond that it's more of the same however, so that'll determine whether or not you'll want to dive back into Valhalla once again.

While it stumbles greatly in execution, Assassin's Creed Valhalla - Dawn of Ragnarök reignites the magic of the main game with a vast realm to explore and myriad secrets to discover using the new Hugr powers. It's still a ton of fun, just don't expect the story to be all that coherent.

‎After completing Dawn of Ragnarök one can very easily realize how beautiful it is when a studio takes something good from the base and forgets the ties it may have to create something new. Here we will see everything fantastic that Valhalla has taken to a terrain that, although we were already able to visit in the main adventure, is shown in all its splendor and in a hypervitamin way. I know that it may not be to the liking of lovers of the adventures of Ezio and company and even these can consider that this thing we have in hand is not an Assassin's Creed, and reason is not lacking: this expansion goes further.‎

Assassin's Creed Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarok continues to showcase Ubisoft's greatest works. It's a rewarding addition to an already impressive list of DLC, designed for one of the best RPGs they've ever made.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarök easily eclipses both The Siege of Paris and Wrath of the Druids, serving up a good 40 hours-worth of top-notch action, exploration and challenges across a huge new world map. Combat here is enlivened by Eivor's new Hugr-Rip abilities, skills which also freshen up the game's puzzles and traversal, and the fantastical nature of the story leads to some of the biggest and best boss face-offs we've seen in the series to date. Newcomers may feel a little lost to begin with, there's a lot to get your head around here, but fans of Valhalla should be delighted with this deliciously fantastical new addition to the base game.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla - The Dawn of Ragnarok allowed me to return to Assassin's Creed Valhalla with a smile. More of the same, only in a tastier sauce. Definitely the best story addition to this installment of the Ubisoft series.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarök is the biggest and most ambitious expansion yet, with great new powers to utilise.

Eivor steps into the shoes of Odin for a grand stomp around a gorgeously realized fantasy realm in what has become my favorite Assassin's Creed experience of all time. Great writing, gorgeous visuals, and a ridiculous amount of content make this DLC worthy of being a stand alone game. Beyond being highly recommended, Dawn of Ragnarok is an absolutely necessity for Assassin's Creed fans.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarok is the third expansion in the Eivor saga. A dlc that will bring us the story of the dawn of Ragnarok and Odin's journey to find his son Balde, who has been kidnapped by the first of the giants. A striking story, although with few novelties in gameplay. The environments are beautiful, although and the soundtrack is impressive.

Dawn of Ragnarök tries so hard to tell an epic tale of revenge and redemption but fails in its execution. Perhaps because Ubisoft has already told the same story too many times since Assassin's Creed 2. The DLC is like a Norse theme park: beautiful to look at and good for taking a break from the world, but devoid of any significant long-lasting value for anyone except hardcore Assassin's Creed Valhalla fans.

Dawn of Ragnarok is an interesting more of the same: you will feel powerful and fierce as Havi, but their new powers, despite being the most interesting innovation in this DLC, are not quite enough to give something completely fresh to whom struggled to reach the epilogue in Valhalla. If you are ready for some mythological setting and are not afraid of swinging your axe over and over and over again, Svartalfheim awaits.

Now, the bloat of “Assassin’s Creed Valhalla” and its DLC releases make plain that developers need to seriously consider the value of making games longer — if anything, just to save gamers from dying on the inside.

More of that Assassin's Creed Valhalla Viking stomping you like, but with new magic, monsters, and a very nicely made world to play around in.

There isn’t much to talk about Dawn of Ragnarok. You can grind your 30-40 hours, finding loot, collecting new powers and uncut gems that reward you with decorations for Ravensthorpe that you might not even log back into, to actually place them. The expansion has a great map to explore, but again, lacks good lore, deep storytelling and interesting powers. Dawn of Ragnarok is, unfortunately, a huge missed opportunity. You might have fun for the first few hours, but it will be a dry experience until you reach the last part. The side missions are more enjoyable than the mains, and you will have more fun hunting the chosen ones and other groups.

I think how much you’re going to enjoy this significantly depends on how much you’ve enjoyed the previous Asgard elements of the game. If you really like them, then having 30+ hours in that world will be a welcome addition to what must surely be one of the biggest open-world single-player video games in history at this point, and it is pretty cool to feel like a Norse warrior-god as you travel around the realm smiting people foolish enough to get between you and that quest marker. If, however, you find the mythological aspects of the game to be a bit ‘meh’, you can safely pass this one over – I mean, it’s not like there’s a shortage of stuff to do/find/explore in the rest of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, after all.

Dawn of Ragnarok is first and foremost, an end-game continuation of the Asgard story in the main game. Unlike Wrath of the Druids and Siege of Paris, players enter a brand-new world that is absolutely massive in scale. Similarly, gameplay additions and story attempt to reach ambitious new heights that only the likes of Norse Mythology would ever allow. With this in mind, it features a story that spans around 25 hours, and additional content to keep players busy for a good twenty thereafter. New gameplay additions like the Hugr-Rip and the Atgeir will keep fans of the base game engaged at all times too, making it a perfect expansion for players who want more of Odin. Dawn of Ragnarok is good, and will tide any fan over until the next game in the franchise comes around.

Dawn of Ragnar'k is a generous new course for Valhalla's already enormous feast - but one which earns its place at the table.
