Cat Cafe Manager has an original premise and a good concept, but too many downsides are holding it back from being a great game.

Cat Cafe Manager is a game you can pick up and play for while and put down. Then return too happily without wondering off the thread of your thoughts and objectives.

There haven’t been a lot of management and cooking simulator games released recently, and I’m starting to wonder if any of them can top the originals. However, Cat Café Manager managed to achieve that flawlessly. This game proved to be more fun than some console games costing nearly ten times as much. I had a lot of fun developing and operating my cat café in Caterwaul Way. I also love the diversity that the devs included in this game, it just shows how much heart and attention to detail was put into making this game. Cat Café Manager is a great way to unwind at the end of a long day thanks to the friendly Regulars, a brief heartwarming story, and upbeat music.

Cat Cafe Manager is one of those games you don’t know you need until you start playing it. It’s cozy, heartfelt, charming, and silly in the best of ways. And so soothing that you’ll find yourself still playing even after you’ve completed all the in-game objectives. Which is why it pains me to give this game the score that I did. Because, as thoroughly enjoyable as everything I’ve described above is, the game has some serious issues that need addressing. Scrolling to read additional information frequently didn’t work; if you accrue enough skills, they escape their assigned boxes, spreading out across the screen and getting in the way when you try to view them; even with litter boxes, at the same time every day all of my cats would spontaneously void their bladders wherever they were in my cafe; finally, there were days I would set my advertising for a specific customer type and wouldn’t get customers for days. Perhaps worst of all, there were a couple times when the game wouldn’t let me do anything at all – time would continue to pass, and customers would appear, but I couldn’t prepare food, interact with anything, or even access the menu. Still, if you don’t encounter these bugs, or, better yet, they get fixed, I think there’s something really special in Cat Cafe Manager. It’s relaxing, lighthearted, sweet, and just overall comforting. Whether you’re a cat lover or not, there’s a lot to enjoy here.

If you love cats and cat cafes, you would likely find there is plenty to gush over in Cat Cafe Manager. Not only is its fail-safe game mechanics friendly for casual players, but the game’s addictive gameplay loop strengthened by the presence of multiple adorable cats would also satisfy cat lovers who enjoy management sims as well. Though the inventory and staff management could be better, I had fun designing and running my cat cafe in Caterwaul Way anyway. With amiable Regulars to meet, a short feel-good story to experience, and cheery music to listen to, Cat Cafe Manager is a fine relaxing game to hop onto after a hectic day.

I first heard about Cat Cafe Manager when it appeared on my Twitter feed, instantly posting it in our ‘games to get codes for’ section of the RR Discord server. If you have read some of my previous reviews such as Calico, it’s no secret that I love cats! I also love a good sim game, so it seemed right up my street.

Ultimately, the day-to-day gameplay of Cat Cafe Manager does get somewhat tedious. You’ll forever be going through the same motions: cleaning up mess, interacting with customers, serving food and drink. Rinse and repeat. But there is fun to be found in growing your cat-filled empire. Seeing your café expand, and replacing old, run-down furnishings with fancy new goods is a joy. And it helps that it all looks so wonderfully cute, too. Don’t expect Cat Cafe Manager to entertain you for weeks, but for fans of cosy sim games, there’s enough here to warrant a purr-chase.

Although it has an incredibly addicting gameplay loop and a charming cast of characters, Cat Cafe Manager has quite a few glaring flaws and bugs.

Cat Café Manager is cozy, relaxing, and full of colours, and if you are looking for a not-so-serious business simulator, this just could be it.

Cat Café Manager entices you in with hopes of cute kitties and a bustling management sim but sorely underachieves. There are a lot of awesome and inventive ideas, however the execution leaves a lot to be desired. I found myself enjoying the game with its chilled vibes and laid-back style, but also felt frustrated at all the missed potential. Whilst the representation of diverse characters gives the game several bonus points, unfortunately there are a lot of features missing to help make Cat Café Manager a timeless simulator classic.

Cat Café Manager is a great management simulator with cats to care for and cuddle anytime you wish to. Expand your café according to your rules and shape it into your perfect dream café. Much like a feline, Cat Cafe Manager can be unwieldy and directionless, which at different times makes the game fun or frustrating.

An Exercise in apathy, neither solid nor liquid. Not exactly bad, but not very good either. Just a bit 'meh,' really.

Cat Cafe Manager is a fantastic relaxing game that I enjoyed for a while. Unfortunately, the title becomes dull because there’s simply not enough to do. Despite its cute graphics style, the title needs something a bit more dynamic to be a successful hit. Though, if players are looking for a game that requires very little input or one that is safe for the family to enjoy, Cat Cafe Manager is a purrrfect choice!

Cat Cafe Manager is a work in progress that still manages to capture your heart. It was unfortunately riddled with small problems that ultimately led to an unplayable experience. Even though the cats were adorable and the characters were endearing, the poor performance made it difficult to see past completion. The first few hours of gameplay are relatively stress-free, but as it progresses there are some complications that followed. Glitches, difficulty to perform actions, and laggy movements ultimately led to a frustrating gaming experience. Despite the fluffy cats and creative strategies, an update is needed to improve the game’s performance. After some improvements, it will definitely be a hit, but right now it’s not quite ready yet.
