Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes is a refreshing take on the musou genre, demanding a more strategic approach that earns it the "Fire Emblem" name. Fans of this world will find plenty to enjoy - as will those seeking a new and improved musou formula. The experience suffers from some pacing issues and can become repetitive, but on the whole it's well worth playing for those looking for a new take on the Three Houses lore - or those who simply want to experience a deft reinterpretation of the musou genre.

Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes is not the turn-based strategy game that fans of the series are patiently waiting for, but it’s a great waiting room for a Three Houses sequel. If you just want another slice of Fire Emblem and don’t want to replay Three Houses again, there’s a high chance that either (or both) Warriors games will quench your thirst for more Fodlan action.

Three Hopes tried to spice up the classic musou formula while staying faithful to the essence of Three Houses. If you like Fire Emblem you won't regret playing it, but if you're not famiiar with genre it may take some time to get used to.

The sheer scale and depth of this game's commitment to matching Three Houses' style and structure made for a very pleasant surprise that sadly made it even more disappointing when the ending fell as flat as it did. Almost overnight I went from not being able to get enough of the game to wondering if I had it in me to play even one more of the game's three story routes. Three Hopes is a must play for diehard fans of both Fire Emblem and Dynasty Warriors alike, but I almost wish that it had committed less to the scale of its story so that its poor final hours weren't so much of a bitter pill to swallow.

Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes is an interesting "what if?" direction for the franchise. It genuinely feels like an alternate universe take on Three Houses with action combat, rather than feeling like a mere license. The core gameplay is a lot of fun but becomes one-note as you get more powerful, but it's not enough to sour the experience. Overall, it's a good Warriors game and a big improvement over the first Fire Emblem Warriors.

Swich gets another fine exclusive game interconnected with other games. This one represents Fire Emblem in each part of the core mechanism including social interactions, support points and even strong plot told in several storylines. And putting dozens of characters to Musou-style battles is more encouraging than ever.

Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes blends the classic Musou formula with the strategic aspect of its namesake impressively well. Throw in a story that's more immersive than you'd expect and you're left with one great Warriors spin-off.

I found myself fairly engrossed with Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, and would argue it's the best of the Omega Force/Nintendo collaborations so far. It runs really well in both handheld and TV mode (certainly far better than Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity) and the combat is propelled to another, more interesting level when you start utilizing the ability to command your various units as objectives appear. So even if you've not played through a single musou game before, I think Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes would make a pretty great impression for brand new players, while also breathing some fresh air into the formula for returning fans.

Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes surprised me in many ways. It made me enjoy what I once thought was a monotonous hack’n’slash romp and it made me grow attached to a new protagonist with a stupid name. At the same time, it let me down in other ways. The support, while having some really great content and conversations, made me ache with how little it gave. The story, while intriguing and engaging, had its pacing all over the place.

Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes introduces different elements compared to its predecessor and seems to give us a hybrid experience between the Fire Emblem and Dynasty Warriors series, and a competent game at that too. With its tripartite story lines that will intersect during the game, dynamic combat, as well as fun and motivating gameplay, Three Hopes could benefit from more variety in its missions but overall, what we have here is a very competent and well executed game that combines some of the best elements of the two series it's inspired in.

Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes has proven to be my favorite game of the genre so far. I think the developers have capitalized well on the strengths of Musou while adding the best elements of the latest Fire Emblem. This is once again a long-term game that will offer dozens of hours of gameplay for fans of the genre. For newcomers, it can also be a great starter as it offers a lot of flexibility for difficulty levels and it explains very well each new element that they add along the way. In short, it is easy to recommend.

There are many things Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes does right, and even more it excels at. So much so, it becomes almost trivial to think of the few caveats bringing the title down, but no game is perfect. Three Hopes is, when all is said and done, a title for Fire Emblem fans and not really anyone else. It helps to push the Dynasty Warriors series in a more modern direction and it features quite a few additions the franchise desperately needs. It brings the iconic Three Houses narrative and characters into an alternate history where some of the lesser characters can thrive, and new and unique stories can be crafted. It has a unique new take on the iconic events in Fire Emblem, all of which work masterfully with the way Dynasty Warriors carries its stories. The end result provides fans with an exceptional and enjoyable experience, from start to end.

All in all, if you enjoyed Hyrule Warriors and like that format mixed with the Fire Emblem setting then you should absolutely check out Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes.

2020’s Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity showed that applying the 1 vs. 1000 Musou-style gameplay to a more narrow scope of an IP can be successful. Now Nintendo and Omega Force have revisited their other Musou spin-off with Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. Like Age of Calamity, Three Hopes bears the same visuals as its progenitor and benefits from the more focused vision with a story that is in some ways better than the original Three Houses, and in some ways worse. The story supports the familiar Musou combat with some neat strategic additions, but the game ends up far overstaying its welcome.

My final thought on Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes is that while the gameplay is fast and fluid and easy for most of the game. I just can’t ignore the bland and boring story. It goes on way too long and it’s way too predictable. Along with bad performance graphics-wise and a non-excictent multiplayer. The soundtrack is one that truly stands out.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses is an excellent proposal within the musou genre that knows how to draw inspiration from the saga from which it starts but that appropriates it in an excellent way to offer versatility and depth that, at least on your server, have been very pleasantly surprised .

If losing the cerebral, tactical piece-moving combat doesn't dull your interest – if that's not why you came to Fire Emblem in the first place – Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes has enough of the franchise's DNA to satisfy. And in some ways, zooming across a battlefield while triggering abilities like Assassinate or Nosferatu seems more in line with the chaotic, war-torn battlefields of Fodlan than what came before. I might not go so far as to say that Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes is my ideal for what Fire Emblem could and should be going forward, but it is quite frankly a lot closer to perfection than it has any right to be.

Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes deserves to be thought of as one of the strongest Warriors crossovers so far. The game fully dives into the elements of its parent series and is all the better for it.
