Modern Warfare 2 is the best Call of Duty to date. The new installment of Infinity Ward comes with a realism never seen before, new gameplay for the story mode and new mechanics.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II had some big shoes to fill and it had done quite well to fill them. The story accommodated a breathtaking plot, combined with jaw-dropping visuals. For multiplayer, you are pretty much getting more of the same from the predecessor, but with more content and a few alterations and that’s fine. Although, the new perk system needs to be strongly evaluated. And the returning Spec Ops is a sizeable step in the right direction.

I can’t predict if it will outsell Modern Warfare 2019, but it is off to a winning start. For sure, it is running fast out of the gate, and it’s going to get a big boost from the free-to-play Warzone 2 release in 15 days, as Warzone serves as a kind of gateway drug for the full title. I do think this game will have longer staying power with its multiplayer combat, so long as the stats and other new maps arrive in time.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 subtly improves on a winning formula. It’s no real surprise that the multiplayer gunplay is the best in the series to date, but considering this is coming from the team that started this craze to begin with it’s to be expected. While the campaign may play it mostly safe, it features an enjoyable challenge, with a couple of interesting survival-type sections that almost turn it into another game entirely. There’s little doubt most Call of Duty players will feel right at home playing Modern Warfare II as it’s a solid entry and seemingly the shooter to play this holiday season and beyond.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II continues the pace of Infinity Ward's 2019 reboot. An adrenaline-fueled campaign tackles present day threats but also takes a backseat to a gun-centric multiplayer experience that goes against the grain in surprising ways, allowing players a chance to fine-tune their operators.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II is a hardcore, hyper-masculine sequel brimming with gorgeous visuals and ambitious action set pieces, all rolled together to serve as a faithful update to the original game. As it stands, this will be the last Call of Duty game until 2024 – and this is the best way to put a pause on the franchise. Shock and awe indeed.

Despite a few niggles, Modern Warfare 2 is a real return to form for Call of Duty. A masterfully crafted multiplayer experience and an excellent campaign mode that pays homage to its predecessors while simultaneously feeling like its own thing come together in one of the best big budget shooters for years.

Call of Duty returns through the front door with a continuation sequel to the previous Modern Warfare, but polishing and balancing the formula proposed by it to the maximum. The multiplayer is a real bomb and the number of players can grow to insanity with the release of the new version of Warzone, so there is fun for a while. One could only reproach that the campaign, while entertaining, is simply compliant.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is a phenomenal FPS that ticks every box. With incredible aesthetics and slick gunplay it is a fantastic experience. Furthermore, the online mode is well balanced and the new levelling system is organic. Fans may gripe and groan about the changes, but I adored the methodical action and problem free gaming.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II will not convince non-believers to jump into Call of Duty. If you’re a fan, you’ll be buying it. If you’re a relapsed fan, you’ll likely come back. And if you hate Call of Duty, you’ll still hate it. It’s a solid effort with a well-designed campaign that feels like you’re playing a summer blockbuster movie. The multiplayer, although severely lacking some key ingredients such as hardcore, the ability to ping, and crossplay issues, is still quite enjoyable. It’s still Call of Duty multiplayer, but it brings enough fresh tweaks to keep us fans happy.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II is a worthy sequel to the 2019 soft reboot, confirming the mastery of Infinity Ward in making the best chapters of the series. We are in the presence of an arcade shooter of quality and quantity, especially as regards the multiplayer modes, plagued by some technical and balancing problems but still incredibly fun to play.

A remarkable delivery, with an entertaining campaign, good technical performance and a multiplayer mode loaded with content. The small adjustments are barely noticeable, and we have the feeling of playing "the same Call of Duty" as always, which will be fantastic for some, and bore others.

Over the course of 8 hours playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, the game provided us with an enjoyable experience on all levels, from dialogues and cinematic scenes to improvements in the gameplay, and even the solid graphics level. All this provides us with an exceptional experience that we see as the best among many Call of Duty titles so far.

Modern Warfare II is exactly what it says on the tin, but this time around it's a different mixture inside said tin. While the game could be accused of continuing series tradition, I believe this game out of all the most recent Call of Duty titles is the most honest of its inspirations and its intention. This is the Call of Duty that tries and succeeds to recapture the spark that lit the gargantuan fire that is the Call of Duty franchise we know today. The original Modern Warfare trilogy started an empire. MW2 has ensured that its fall won't happen for a good while longer, thanks to unparalleled multiplayer action and pure campaign spectacle. While there is always room for improvement and a desire from some sections of the fanbase to try something completely different; Modern Warefare II proves itself to be a spiritual sequel and a rebirth for the series moving forward into this new and exciting console generation.

Call of duty Modern Warfare delivers almost everything we expect from a call of duty game. Enjoyable Campaign, fun Multiplayer and Great Gunplay. That being said, User Interface needs a rework and Stealth missions are a bit too much. Nevertheless, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is a game that can and will entertain you for hundreds of hours!

Modern Warfare II is almost a perfect game. But the almost part is more significant than you’d be tempted to believe, and unfortunately, it sometimes makes the game a work-in-progress.

As finer an example of “AAA” Hollywood gaming spectacle as ever there was – full of incredible visuals and set-pieces with a tonne of gameplay variety and only a few moments that fall flat. It can’t help but occasionally feel to be a greatest hits collection of previous Call of Duty moments at times, despite the earnest and well intentioned efforts to mix things up a bit, and that’s okay. For fans of the series, they’ll be more than satisfied.
