Even as frustrating as some of A Little to the Left‘s more obscure puzzles can be, we still find ourselves going back to it, picking up a Daily Tidy or trying to figure out those last few solutions. Yes, there’s a big difference between the best and the worst puzzles here, but really, it doesn’t matter: you’ll revel in the good, and you’ll feel challenged by the ones whose solutions elude you. Coming from a two-person design studio, A Little to the Left is a breath of fresh air and exactly the sort of wholesome game we need more of.

A Little To The Left is nothing exceptional, but precisely because it is unpretentious it can surprise you positively. Get ready to relax and spend hours organizing all kinds of messes, barely noticing the time passing.

It should be very accessible to people who do not play a lot of games, even though I felt that by the end that the game had run out of steam and felt a bit too abstract for its own good. While the Switch version performs fine enough, the controls did feel like a drag when using a gamepad, which caused me to play the game in handheld mode with touch screen controls. A Little to the Left has a clear and unique identity among other puzzle games and while it won't last you an entire weekend there is enough here for those looking for a new type of puzzling challenge.

It is not an easy task for a puzzle game to offer a lot of puzzles that stays true to its theme and make most of them enjoyable and rational. A Little to the Left achieves this.

A Little to the Left is a family-friendly puzzler that's great in short bursts. It doesn't have a whole lot of content at the moment, but still provides a few hours of relaxing brain teasers to solve.

A Little to the Left is one of the most comfortable video games I have played in a while. The puzzles are good to excellent, some with multiple solutions, all with attached easy-to-use hints, complete with the options to simply move on to the next. But the game shines because it nails the presentation and connects it so deeply to its puzles.

A Little to the Left is a relaxing game in terms of ambiance, but it also has tiring gameplay due to all the puzzles that require you to move and click intensely. Organizing, sorting, stacking and arranging things takes its toll after some time playing, but that could have been just me. Graphically the game looks fairly sterile, but quite sleek and playful. The puzzles are varied, although you might not expect that and with the many levels and archive puzzles it will ultimately take you about 2 to 5 hours (depending on how quickly you ask for a hint or skip levels).

A Little to the Left is at its absolute best when it’s focusing on finding just the right spot for everyday things, and at its worst when it’s operating on its own, chaotic-puzzle logic. Those two worlds and design choices are at odds in my opinion, and collide to unfortunately produce an uneven end result. However, I feel confident in saying any puzzle game fan will find something to like and perhaps even love here, and with it being available to try on Xbox Game Pass, it’s worth a download.

When A Little to the Left works, it works very well. As I said, there's pleasure to be found in a bit of neatness and order, and A Little to the Left appeals to that specific part of the brain. But it doesn't do it consistently enough to make the game worth playing, unless you like having a bit of frustration mixed in with your cute and cozy puzzles.

We’ve all been there. A stressful day resolved with a few ASMR organisation videos, or have been lost in the realms of TikTok, watching someone restock their cupboards. I think I’ve watched so many videos like this, my “for you page” is now taken over by someone resupplying their entire ice draw for their 5 person freezer.

A Little to the Left is often a calming way to tidy up both stages and your thoughts, but occasionally it gets a little too easy or obtuse. PC version reviewed.

A Little to the Left, is a title that bets on its simplicity, stacking and ordering is everything in a mundane aspect and its result is quite gratifying, a calm game that offers good moments of peace. Although at times it is certainly repetitive and its hint system does not try to be conclusive, leaving us with serious doubts and making our moment of peace a pleasant nightmare.

Every home, no matter how tidy, has that one drawer that ends up being a catch-all space for batteries, paper clips, pens, and the like. Garages always have a corner with a few half-empty paint cans, and kitchen cupboards inevitably have a stack of cracked bowls that should probably be thrown away. A Little to the Left is an indie puzzle game that celebrates little messes like these, and the tidying-up that (sometimes) accompanies them. While its puzzles can occasionally seem opaque, A Little to the Left‘s charming art style and multiple solution options help it to stand out.

Little to the Left turns arranging and organizing objects into a nice puzzle. It might not seem like it, but it's fun and relaxing to line up pictures, methodically store items in boxes, and clean tables, mostly because of the simple mechanics and intuitive puzzles. Soft colors and a light soundtrack complement the atmosphere of tranquility. The game aims to be calm and contemplative, but certain points go against this philosophy. Some puzzles have obscure solutions, the more abstract stages are unnecessarily complicated, and some ideas are reused frequently, disrupting the otherwise relaxing experience. Otherwise, A Little to the Left is exactly like tidying up: sometimes rewarding, sometimes irritating.

A Little to the Left celebrates tidiness and observation with excellent presentation. Its comforting gameplay loop relaxes and engages your mind with a balanced difficulty curve. The generous hint system doesn’t ruin the fun of figuring things out on your own, and despite minor annoyances with a few puzzles, this is a cozy, beautifully crafted experience that’s hard to come by in the genre.
