LEGO 2K Drive is something grand and fun with its colorful open world and destructive races. Handling the car may be hard at first but it will soon stop being an issue. The big question really are the microtransactions limiting the way we can enjoy all the content the game has to offer.

All in all, LEGO 2K Drive satisfies any craving for brick-racing that you may have had in the past with A+ class but still is rough around the edges because of its microtransaction system.
A perfect embodiment of the LEGO world, with a great handling model and equally great car creation mode, marred by aggressive micro-transactions that nevertheless can be bypassed.

Lego 2K Drive is a racing game that so nearly reaches its potential, but it steps on a few stray bricks along the way. The core driving feels good, the Story mode has plenty to do, and the creation tools are legitimately impressive. However, it's let down by technical shortcomings, a lack of sharing options, and somewhat slimy monetisation. The foundations of a really great arcade racer are here, but poor optimisation in this Switch version and certain design decisions mean it's unlikely to overtake the competition.
LEGO 2K Drive is a really fun expierence for younger, but also older LEGO fans. The games has many incredible things to offer. For example, there are many really enjoyable challenges to find in the open world, and it's incredibly cool to build your own racecar with LEGO bricks. The story is a bit unoriginal and the game has microtransactions, what we could expect from a game made by 2K. Nevertheless, everyone who enjoys LEGO or arcade-racers, should give this game a shot!

The open-world approach of the single-player and the good number of alternative challenges make LEGO 2K Drive a good alternative to the usual Mario Kart. Visual Concepts may lack some experience to achieve Nintendo's sublime track-design, but the start of this potential new franchise is more than good.

Despite the issues, LEGO 2K Drive is a promising beginning to a potential sub-franchise from 2K. There are great ideas that enamor me, thanks to how comforting they are. I hope that if the plan is to do another, the developers don’t try to toss in genres that don’t work here haphazardly. I hope they concentrate on going quickly and create side-quests that make sense for a car.
Lego 2K Racing is a family-friendly racing game that appeals to people of all ages. Whether you are new to Lego content or a fan of racing games, you can enjoy the thrill of exploration and racing in this game.

Despite these easily fixable flaws, I haven’t had this much fun in an arcade racer in a long time. It’s a beautiful and smooth experience with clever level design, cheeky humor, and the ability to make some truly spectacular vehicles. With split-screen and online multiplayer, LEGO 2K Drive is a great choice for some late-night gaming shenanigans.
LEGO 2K Drive is a terrific addition to the LEGO video game universe, with a bright and breezy atmosphere, super fun races and a fantastic creator mode with classic LEGO jokes aplenty for all ages, sadly tainted by egregious and forced microtransactions which are all too easy to consider thanks to the slow progress of earning in-game currency. For a game at full AAA price of £70, it’s difficult to justify why they were included at all and ultimately brings down the entire experience.
The licensed racer from 2K and Visual Concepts is a delightful combination of open-world and kart racers, with tons of Lego customization to boot.
LEGO 2K Drive does not disappoint and delivers as a very enjoyable racing game. It doesn't aim to dethrone the genre leaders and follows its own path with a fun but somewhat brief story mode. It is a franchise with the potential to become something bigger if it expands the open-world experience, offers new stories, and undergoes natural growth without overusing microtransactions.

The return of the Lego Racer with intuitive control and brilliant action. The story unfolding in the charming open world and creative mode that fulfills Lego fan's desire are also attractive. It is difficult to say whether this game is for adults or for children. This game is just too difficult and too extensive for the really small kids, and just too easy for adults. I therefore think that they have tried to find a middle ground that is just not balanced enough for any target group. You notice during AI races that you often get it thrown in the last round and you will still be able to win quite easily with some boosts and power-ups. LEGO 2K Drive, however, is a refreshing concept that especially feels very varied. The racing that is interspersed with chases, then checkpoint races, then bomb-dodging challenges constantly feels quite enjoyable.

It's not a perfect game or one with great competitive pretensions, but it allows us to spend several carefree hours in numerous activities. Recommended for a young audience as well as a more experienced one, especially for social evenings thanks to the local multiplayer.
