Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Reviews
Toothless writing, old-fashioned open world design, and ropey port work undermine what should be a thrilling cinematic adventure.
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 on PC is unfortunately the inferior version of what is otherwise an amazing game.
The new spider-man adventure with Marvel's Spider-man 2 could be a great game coming out of the PS5 exclusive, but it has been clouded by all its problems, bugs and crashes at launch.

The game is still enjoyable, and there were no major bugs that prevented me from finishing the adventure. Despite everything, it must be considered that not everything runs smoothly even with a high-end build, and the constant worry certainly did not allow me to relax and fully enjoy this porting (always better than what we unfortunately saw with The Last of Us Part 1). The main differences between the PS5 version and the PC version lie only in the visual quality, the unlocked FPS, and, probably, a few more technical problems than those present on consoles, with the hope that Insomniac will solve them as soon as possible.

Players keen to continue Peter and Miles' story on PC should hold out a little longer and wait for some patches, as it's hard to recommend Marvel's Spider-Man 2 on PC in its current state. It's marred by a multitude of bugs that completely take away from the game's brilliant story and excellent gameplay.
Unfortunately, technical problems limit the perfection that Nixxes Software had offered in previous games in the series

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 disappoints in its long-awaited debut on PC, delivering an adventure that falls short of the expectations created since its launch on PS5. As fun as the sequel to the saga of Peter Parker and Miles Morales is, the poor work of adaptation to the new platform prevents a broader recommendation until its most basic problems are resolved and the performance delivered is within expectations for different hardware configurations.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is a masterpiece in storytelling and character-building, a must-play for any Marvel fan.
I have mixed feelings about Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. The bad side of the amplitude is mostly related to some cast members and the predictable narrative. The game is a technical masterpiece and an exciting, functional sandbox. If you are looking forward to web the bad guys whilst paying less attention to the plot, this game could fill your soul coffers. If you also require a compelling narrative, you better be young and unfamiliar with the rich Spider-Man lore. Long-time fans have seen everything on offer here multiple times.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is a standout superhero adventure with terrific character writing that, at least in my experience, is heavily bogged down by unsatisfactory performance. Bugs and crashes drastically ruined segments of progression, even in story-heavy scenarios. If I only faced the occasional softlock or crash, I wouldn’t really care, but these issues being such a constant made them impossible to overlook, doubly so with the launch patch installed.
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is a good game stuck in a package that is far from ideal. Visual artifacts and a few crashes still remain even after three patches, and the game can feel less than optimized when the frame rate drops on powerful hardware. If you're willing to wait just a little longer or are the patient and forgiving type, you'll be rewarded with a safe sequel that can still satisfy fans of the Insomniac-developed games. This title also gets fans primed for the eventual finale what is almost certainly a trilogy. However, this release serves as a warning that Sony and its studios need to do some real work to ensure future game releases are stable from day one, or else they'll lose the PC audience that is crucial to funding future endeavors.
I do not consider Spider-man 2 to be a quality port and if you have the opportunity, avoid playing it for now and wait for the fixes. The game crashing is not worth your nerves and time is precious.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 on PC is currently a bittersweet experience. The base game is exceptional, with an engaging narrative and polished gameplay, but technical issues are too frequent to ignore. Even with powerful hardware like our setup, the experience is far from optimal.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 isn't the spectacular game it is on PS5. Bugs and crashes plagued the launch, and while the game is now stable enough, it isn't always on par with the PS5 version. When it works, though, the game sings thanks to the great story and amazing gameplay.

Looking back at the 2018 Spider-Man shows just how far the franchise has come. There is no doubt that there have been some decent upgrades in this sequel but with the exception of the sheer volume of optional story content, the shortage of suit alterations, and the absence of gadgets. The story also drags on for far too long, especially in its opening hours, and then rushes to a conclusion. Since this is where things stand, I cannot recommend the game to anyone who failed to like the original and is cautious about spending $70.
With zero marketing and a troubled launch, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 raises some questions about how serious Sony is about its PC strategy. Luckily for us (and Sony), Nixxes is a fast and efficient studio that almost immediately addressed the issues and brought stability to this version of the game.

Apropos of The Symbiote, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is a faster, bigger, & stronger sequel, but also partly corrupted by certain design & narrative decisions.
If you have played PlayStation 5, there are no urgent reasons to revisit the game now. But if this is your first time in this sequence, it is recommended that you wait for some more updates before embarking on your adventure.

A really good game that unfortunately has launched in an unpolished state. If the issues get corrected, buy it without hesitation.
I have some mixed feelings, but as a video game, Spider-Man 2 works really well. Hopefully Nixxes can fix the random crash issues. I'd still say that the first part worked better for me.
