The significance of the remaster on consoles may be questionable, but on PC it is definitely significant. But beware, the game is extremely raw and brutal, but otherwise gorgeous. And this time with fewer problems. Updates will do the trick.

Oh, and by the way, if you've been turned on to this game series for the first time because of the TV show and are thinking about trying The Last of Us: Part II - Remastered to get ready for next season ... good luck. And prepare yourself.

Even if you love The Last Of Us 2. Even if you think it’s the Citizen Kane of video games. Even if you think that Shakespeare himself would have thrown in the towel after seeing this game, realising he could never compete with it as a storyteller, you must surely realise that a game that is four years old and is readily available on your current console doesn’t need the remaster. Surely you understand that this is a ridiculous excess, done purely to milk revenue out of fans, and that it’s particularly frustrating given that Sony is sitting on dozens of incredible properties. That it would rather leave all of them on ice and inaccessible to release this indulgence just isn’t acceptable.

The Last of Us: Part II Remastered is a re-release that delivers the best and most complete version of this game. While the graphical changes do little to impress, the extra content is valuable for those hungry for more of Naughty Dog's grim universe. That said, it feels solely like it exists purely for commercial continuity, to capitalize on the hype of the HBO series and give another sales boost to Naughty Dog's video game

The best version of Naughty Dog's blockbuster. It's still not a story for everyone, it's not a production for all PS5 owners. It is, however, a title that will delight fans of the universe - The Last of Us Part II Remastered is (at least currently) the best version of the game you loved or hated on the previous generation.

At the end of the day, The Last of Us: Part II - Remastered is a fine but pointless upgrade. In a vacuum, it's a straight boost to the PS4 version in every way, and the $10 upgrade cost is probably worth it if just for No Return. For all of its glories and failures, Part II is still the same game, even more so than The Last of Us: Part I. It's the best version of the game but probably not something that players need to rush out to get.

All the extras greatly increase the lifespan of the game and manage to delve the player even deeper into the narrative in an extraordinary way.

Overall, Naughty Dog has once again delivered a stellar game that just keeps giving you more and more. The No Return in itself is worth playing this game again. If you love the world of The Last of Us and you want to be able to play as Joel again, then this game is definitely something you should get.

The Last of Us Part II Remastered is generally what you'd expect for a current-generation iteration of a 3.5-year-old game. There's definitely enough extra content and enhancements to make it worthwhile but only if you're not burned-out by the original. 🎸

The Last of Us Part II: Remastered is a beautiful mess. An ambitious title that had all the right ingredients, but didn’t always pan out the way it should. The excellent survival action gameplay that showcases humanity’s brutality is often let down by a story that is trying too much and has poor pacing. Thankfully, Part II’s debut on PC improves on the last game, making it the best place to play, even with its imperfections.

It's a solid PC port and still technically beautiful, but also incredibly boring with a lackluster story and forgettable side characters. Even when it does something well, it throws it at the player so often that it stops being enjoyable.

The Last of Us Part II is a near-perfect porting, hopefully setting a new standard for PlayStation games on PC. Naughty Dog's own work still manages to hold one's breath with its narrative and the excellent characterisation of all its characters.

The Last of Us Part II Remastered on PC represents one of the best console portings we have seen in recent years. Naughty Dog, Nixxes Software and Iron Galaxy have created a conversion that not only keeps the visual and narrative DNA of the original intact, but enhances it through the capabilities of PC hardware. Optimization is generally excellent, with scalability that allows the experience to be enjoyed on different band configurations. New technologies implemented, such as DLSS 3 and FSR 3.1, further expand the audience of potential players. The minor problems encountered do not in the least affect the overall quality of a work that, even on PC, is confirmed as one of the greatest videogame masterpieces of recent years. The addition of new content for the No Return mode, available from day one, is also a significant added value for both newcomers and those who have already experienced the adventure on PlayStation. If you are a PC owner and have not yet experienced the intense experience of The Last of Us Part II, this Remastered version is undoubtedly the best way to do so. If, on the other hand, you have already completed the game on consoles, the PC version offers enough technical improvements and new content to justify a return to Seattle. Ultimately, The Last of Us Part II Remastered for PC confirms itself as a benchmark for console porting, raising the quality bar for all future conversions

The Last of Us Part II Remastered continues to be an impactful experience that only video games can provide. Five years later, it still stands out as a game that is brave in its narrative, engaging to play, with spectacular voice acting and a generous amount of content, consolidating itself as a unique experience within AAA games. The PC port is solid and surpasses the problematic versions we've seen in recent years, but there is still room for refinements that could make it the best way to experience Ellie and Abby's journey.
