The king has returned and his comeback is incredible. Gameplay, content… Hangar 13 was able to take back perfectly the strength of Top Spin 4 and applied it again with mastery to lay us one of the best sports games of recent years, all disciplines combined. With its Season Pass, Top Spin 2K25 will erase in the future some of these slags, as a base roster quite weak, but its lackluster graphics will stay.

On the court, TopSpin 2K25 is brilliant. It's realistic, satisfying, and feels great to play, especially as you get to grips with the timing needed for every shot type. It's just a shame that such good tennis gameplay is housed in such bland modes that have you grind for very little sense of progression.
TopSpin 2K25 is the return to the tennis court. A long-awaited comeback and it does so through the front door, taking everything that worked in TopSpin 4 and improving it. Especially its gameplay, based on that title, but much deeper. A game system that feels great at the controls, that is easy to understand but difficult to master and with a pretty good learning curve. At least that's the feeling it has left us with after several hours of play, that little by little and by trying we have been improving the accuracy of our shots, even in unfavorable situations.

TopSpin 2K25 is a strong enough return for 2K's dormant Top Spin series, despite being a somewhat barebones offering, short on modes and bereft of fun extras like mini-games. On a fundamental level, however, this is a great game of tennis. Maybe we can expect more from TopSpin 2K26.
TopSpin 2K25 is without doubt the best tennis game since the last Top Spin game. It succeeds at finding the all important balance of risk versus reward that the foundation of Tennis is built on, and whilst it's not perfect, it provides a solid base for 2K to build on.
“Overall I’m enjoying it,” says Matt directly. “But with sport games and, in particular, tennis games already being a bit repetitive, Hangar 13 needs to speed up progress on career mode to make it more enjoyable. There seem to be things I don’t have access to yet that will make my player better, and I don’t want to play for countless hours before I start seeing that happen.”
TopSpin 2K25 is a decent return to form for the franchise, especially when you stick to the more casual side of things. Trying to get better at the game, however, can be fraught with frustration owing to its control scheme. Ultimately, there's still a fun career mode to dive into with plenty of content for tennis fans.
Despite it being more than a decade since the release of the celebrated Top Spin 4, TopSpin 2K25 carries on its vaunted legacy by building off its predecessor’s successful formula. Once you’ve grasped the fundamentals of John McEnroe’s helpful lessons, you’ll find that the blueprint for winning each point through outsmarting and outmaneuvering your opponent makes for a rewarding and challenging experience with all of the tools at your disposal. The game’s online modes give you plenty of ways to test your abilities against others but could perhaps use a better framework to add balance and proper compensation for your efforts. All of the on-court action is faithfully brought to life with sharp graphics and animations, especially when it comes to the spirited stadiums.
If you enjoy over-indulgent, over-technical gameplay as opposed to genuine fun then Top Spin 2K25 is the game for you!
Top Spin 2K25 represents the return of a legendary series after more than ten years of painful absence. With a stellar gameplay and new features that enhance the variety of every match, this new chapter will meet the expectations of the fans.

TopSpin 2K25 is a solid return to the court for the veteran franchise. It's a bit lacking in content, from the limited roster to the repetitive modes, but the excellent gameplay mechanics offer a lot of hope for the future.
TopSpin 2K25 feels like a reboot of the series rather than a proper sequel. The lack of game modes really makes the title feel like it's starting from scratch and trying to nail the fundamentals before approaching more offbeat stuff. Despite the occasional missing inputs and stuttering from time to time, the game remains enjoyable enough that you'll want to master the controls and get in a few matches against others quite often. It needs work for future iterations, but for now, TopSpin 2K25 is solid enough.

TopSpin 2K25 is the long-awaited return from one of the most acclaimed brands in the sport and brings with it some of the best qualities that made it so beloved years ago. Top Spin 4 was so good that it continued to thrive for 10 years past its sell-by date, and TopSpin 2K25 feels just as enjoyable to play in 2024. Sure, the character models don't look great, and the game could do with a few tweaks and additions in certain areas, but the key thing is that developer Hangar 13 has nailed the gameplay. We've been waiting such a long time for a tennis title to really grab our attention like Top Spin 4 did back in the day, and we're pleased to say that TopSpin 2K25 is comfortably the best tennis game we've played in over a decade.
TopSpin 2K25 is a worthy reboot for a legendary franchise with high-level on-field action, tight controls, and a deep MyPlayer mode, though it lacks content and features a lifeless crowd.

You can unlock things like clothing, equipment, pre-match animations, and even some experience boosts for MyPlayer. Those who decide to purchase the Premium Centre Court Pass will have a few extra cosmetic items they can purchase, while those who buy the All Access Pass will unlock six of the Premium Seasons as well as even more cosmetic goodies.
Its excellent gameplay and simple handling very much overshadow the problems, and the lack of a good tennis title for many years helps a lot. It's just that because of its excellent past we had much higher expectations, and the problems that have appeared are not to be called few.
