Mullet Madjack shows an expert understanding of old-school anime and doesn’t compromise on its message at any point. It’s quite clear that the developer harbors a deep love for the media that the game pays homage to, and its art style goes beyond just being a superficial aesthetic choice, firmly rooting itself into the game’s tone and everything that surrounds it.

Mullet MadJack is a violent, gory, and raunchy game that would have fit the 90's well. To be honest, that's its main strength. It knows exactly what kind of game it wants to be and who it’s targeting; it’s unapologetic with its violence and humor, and it’s really addictive and just a good time. This game knows what made the 90's cool and reminds us why it is still cool to this day. So grab a lollipop and shoot some bots.

Its over-the-top approach to almost everything it offers you can feel overwhelming, but there's no denying just how fun it is to play! Dashing through stages that last mere moments is such a blast that I had a hard time putting down my Switch. It's a breath of fresh air to play a game that has something to say, but presents it in a style that we almost never see or hear anymore. Mullet MadJack is a wild ride and one that almost every FPS fan should play.

Mullet MadJack is a title that's quite easy to recommend for fans of shooting games. Its fast-paced gameplay is engaging and addictive, and the OVA anime aesthetic — complete with high-quality Brazilian dubbing — makes it a true trip down memory lane for those nostalgic for the 1980s and 1990s. So, if there was any doubt, it no longer exists: saving the influential princess by controlling Jack and his unmistakable mullet is a must-play on the Nintendo Switch as well.

MULLET MADJACK stands out in a crowded genre thanks to its unique core mechanic, smooth action, and strong visual style. It has a few minor problems, like levels that are too similar to each other and a lack of variety in upgrades, but they don't detract much from the overall experience. The way everything works together is what makes the game truly unique.

Mullet Madjack is PURE DOPAMINE: a fun and addictive game like few others, but which at the same time conveys a super relevant and current message. Its creative visuals, with captivating and incredibly addictive gameplay, transform Jack's adventure into an instant indie classic, as well as, of course, one of the greatest examples that Brazil has gigantic potential for game development.

I love boomer shooters, and I love '80s/'90s media and manga/anime. MULLET MADJACK is just an amalgamation of those things in a larger-than-life product with some loud presentation and an addictive gameplay loop. It manages to combine the random world of roguelites with the moment-to-moment gameplay of the classic first-person shooter. Jack Banhammer is the man, and MULLET MADJACK is an absolute treasure of a game. If you are within its target audience, there is not much this game does wrong outside of only having a very short campaign. If you happen to be on the outside looking in, this is going to look like an absolute smack to the senses, which, in terms of this game, is not the worst thing!

Mullet MadJack is one of the best first-person shooters that you'll play on Switch 2 this year. The fact that your character can earn upgrades between runs, and the difficulty is customizable, means that being a roguelite isn't a barrier to entry in this title.

A spot on throwback to the hedonistic and violent days of the Manga animation brand, Mullet MadJack is top tier indulgent fun. Its insane pace, somewhat too on-the-nose allegories for consumerism, and blinding visuals, make it a blast for that repetitive, quick-fix roguelike fan.

MULLET MADJACK is an excellent shooter that skillfully and passionately captures the essence of classic OAV anime at their expressive peak. The game impresses with its visual power, supported by high-quality graphics and solid, engaging gameplay. However, it is important to note that the learning curve can initially be steep, posing a significant challenge for newcomers. Overall, it remains a thoroughly worthwhile experience that we highly recommend trying.

MULLET MADJACK is a little masterpiece that draws on ideas already traveled over to create a magnetic experience with an overwhelming personality. A shooter that rides the wave of 90s anime cyberpunk, throwing into the mixer adrenaline-fueled, ultraviolent gameplay that exudes a visceral and authentic charisma. Part classic arcade and part modern roguelite, the title developed by HAMMER95 is a sinful fruit that is impossible to resist.

A wild, stylish ride that sacrifices depth for maximum impact — and mostly nails the landing. If you’ve got Game Pass, there’s no excuse. Boot it up, grow a mullet, and get mad.

Andy Warhol once predicted the famous 15 minutes of fame, but Mullet MadJack needs only 10 seconds to win over players. Despite its simple and straightforward concept, HAMMER95's work captivates with entertainment and near-perfect balance. The narrative layer adds charm, even though it might initially seem superficial. The result is a bold, unconventional, and delightfully psychedelic FPS, hindered only by repetitive level layouts and the inherent randomness typical of roguelikes.

There's no time to stop in this roguelike inspired by ultra-violent anime, set in a world of streaming and billionaires, where views are the future, and our lives only matter as long as the audience keeps cheering for us.

Mullet MadJack is versatile: it’s perfect for hours of gameplay in a single session or even a quick ten-minute break to progress or just have some fun battling robots. Its 90s-inspired style is dripping with nostalgia, reminding me of movies like The Running Man and Terminator.

Mullet MadJack is an absolute blast to play. It’s high intense action, fast paced and adrenaline pumping. The health vs timer system does take a bit of time to adapt to, but once you get a grasp of it, you’ll have a blast. But again, it’s not for everyone because at the same time, the timer can feel like a strict method of playing. Thankfully, if you just want to enjoy a balls to the walls shooter, disable the timer and just go nuts. If you’re looking for a unique FPS experience, Mullet MadJack is highly recommended. And it’s on Gamepass! (as of this writing).
