Beyond Good & Evil: 20th Anniversary Edition is one of best remastered game in recent years which has seen many optimizations and positive changes. That being said, some old technical issues like inconsistent camera angles are still present. Nevertheless, Beyond Good & Evil: 20th Anniversary Edition delivers an amazing experience from Start to finish.

But the base game, Beyond Good & Evil, is still a great time. Parts of its design feel dated today, sure, but considering this game is 21 years old, it holds up remarkably well. I was happy to be reminded of one of my favorite GameCube games and its eclectic cast of characters, and I can only hope that they will live on in some future Ubisoft game.
Don't miss out on Beyond Good & Evil. It's a great game that deserves to be played, and while I do have issues, some of which are not inherent to the game (like requiring Ubisoft Connect), it is well worth the price.
Beyond Good & Evil 20th Anniversary Edition is not only the definitive version of Jade's adventure, but an example of how remasters of games from that era can feature relevant improvements and add extras to celebrate the historical legacy of these works. Some more dragged aspects have not aged very well and remind us of the age of the game, but the charisma of the adventure and the good use of the opening of the compact world still make it deserve this well-cared for return.

Playing Beyond Good & Evil – 20th Anniversary Edition makes you realize how much this title deserves a remake, but instead, we have to settle for a simple remaster. The graphical overhaul is well done and does justice to a timeless classic despite some limitations due to the passage of time that the developers haven't addressed. The new additions don't fully justify the purchase for long-time fans, who will likely be driven by nostalgia. However, those who have never experienced the story of Jade and Pey’j now have no excuses.

While I found the game quite enjoyable, after so many years, it should offer a substantial refresh rather than just a remaster. The gameplay might have been adjusted enough to be acceptable for today's players, yet many parts of the game are still hindered by dated mechanics. It's still a pretty good game for fans, though.

Beyond Good & Evil: 20th Anniversary Edition is a good remaster that may excite fans of the original game with its nostalgia-fueled gameplay, but at the same time manages to win over new players who are getting acquainted with the title for the very first time.

Beyond Good and Evil 20th Anniversary Edition is an authentic classic, remastered with love and care by an Ubisoft that this year, we must admit, is surprising us in a positive way. Despite an excellent job on the graphical and technical front, which has brought a game with 20 years of activity on its shoulders up to date, one incontrovertible fact remains: Beyond is still an extraordinary experience, a unique game that has never been attempted again, perhaps unrepeatable. While waiting for the sequel, don't miss this one. The very low, and ideal, price is a great ticket for a hovercraft ride in Hillys...

Beyond Good & Evil – 20th Anniversary Edition is a mostly brilliant celebration of a cult hit. The visuals really help the world continue to stand out in 2024, the new additions add more to the world, including a new quest that hopefully links to the future of the series and an all new speedrun mode is the perfect way for veterans to test themselves all over again. The implementation of Ubisoft Connect does present some issues and some mechanics feel a bit dated in 2024, but for the price and quality, we cannot recomend playing this classic game enough.
Beyond Good & Evil - 20th Anniversary Edition is certainly a game of its time, but its quality still shines bright. The story is unforgettable, the dungeons are cleverly designed, the characters are brilliant and the soundtrack is impeccable.
The 20th Anniversary Edition of Beyond Good & Evil revives a beloved classic with enhanced visuals and character models while keeping the original gameplay and level design intact. The improved graphics make it worth the higher system requirements, and new missions and quality-of-life features enrich the experience. Fans of the original will appreciate this remaster while awaiting the long-promised sequel.
As great as some remasterings may be, will they be enough to give a second chance to those who have resisted the original works for decades?

If you're not afraid of the light but somewhat rusty combat and navigation system, we think Beyond Good & Evil - 20th Anniversary Edition should not be missing from your collection

Is Beyond Good & Evil: 20th Anniversary Edition worth playing? Definitely yes. I spent about 10 hours with this production and had a great time - the time passed completely unnoticed. The game offers an excellent storyline, an interesting world and interesting mechanical solutions. Although most of the battles are relatively simple, the camera can sometimes go crazy and obscure the screen, and the game suffers from a few minor flaws, this does not significantly affect the overall impression.

On the whole, Beyond Good & Evil 20th Anniversary offers a similar experience to the original opus. However, this is not a shortcoming - on the contrary. The developers didn't have to alter the original, but they did incorporate a number of interesting new features. Whether it's the integration of automatic saves, the extra mission to bridge the gap to the next game or the revised textures, the title offers a fluid experience. Its price, at the lower end of the market, also allows the community to return or discover this classic. Just don't forget that the gameplay hasn't always aged well, and while the visual appearance has been improved, the same cannot be said for the sensations once the controller is in hand.

Two decades later, Beyond Good & Evil - 20th Anniversary Edition still is a pioneering, unique game. The scars of time are very noticeable and the need for a remake was bigger than a remaster but it's still a must as a narrative. Accompanied by a cutting-edge localization, interesting extras and the same old charismatic characters, it's one of the overlooked gems that shines the most in Ubisoft's catalog.

Jade returns in a remaster that proves the worth of this property yet again. If you have yet to play Beyond Good and Evil, this version is a fine entry point.
Beyond Good & Evil - 20th Anniversary Edition is a remaster that manages to capture the essence of the original while offering welcome improvements for modern platforms. The revitalized look, adjustments to controls and the inclusion of new content are highlights that will certainly please both old fans and new players. While the game still has some technical and design limitations, especially evident 20 years after its original release, it retains its charm and continues to be an engaging experience.

Beyond Good & Evil – 20th Anniversary Edition is a tribute to the enduring appeal of a game that has left a significant mark on the action-adventure genre. While the remastered 4K graphics may not be as striking due to the game’s unique art style, the improved performance at 60FPS is a welcome enhancement. Coupled with a captivating story and thoughtful new additions like the speedrun mode, updated achievements, and the anniversary gallery, this edition is a fitting tribute to a beloved classic.
