A game that sometimes feels like taking on the legions of hell for real, Kill Knight is not welcoming to those without patience. It's a relentless onslaught that feels overwhelming until you get to grips with a generous and versatile set of abilities. Every attempt to push further into the abyss brings fresh challenges, testing the limits of your fortitude. Failure comes often and easily, but success is exhilarating.

Kill Knight isn’t for the faint of heart, but if you’re up for a challenge, it’s an exhilarating experience that will keep you hooked from start to finish. Sure, it has its rough edges, and the repetition might wear on some players. But for those who crave intense, skill-based action with a gothic, retro flair, Kill Knight delivers in spades. It’s one of those games where, even after countless deaths, you’re always itching for just one more run. And when you finally conquer the abyss, the victory is all the sweeter for having fought tooth and nail to get there.

Playing Kill Knight feels like what happens if you gave a medieval peasant a bottle of soda. It's violent, and unexpected, and adrenaline-charged and fun as hell.

With four difficulty levels to overcome, lots of equipment to change up your play style, and five levels to master, Kill Knight is pretty fleshed out for what it is. On top of that, the controls feel very responsive, and it's all presented with a harsh, grainy aesthetic and appropriately punchy music

More than once, as I repeatedly threw myself against Kill Knight’s considerable challenges, I suddenly felt a tear running down my face and realized that I hadn’t blinked in what felt like an eternity. It was as though I had returned to my body from some unknowable elsewhere.

KILL KNIGHT is a devilishly impressive isometric shooter. There's a pure glee generated by the title's fast and ferocious combat working in perfect harmony with its hellish visuals and sound design. What may at first seem like an overly complicated system of mechanics quickly falls neatly into place and it becomes apparent just how superbly everything is designed to be cohesive and put the power into the player's hands. A deeper notion of progression could have helped the game to avoid that feeling of repetition so commonly associated with high score-based arcade games, but it's a minor critique in what is ultimately a skillfully crafted experience. Just one that may not be for the faint of heart.

Kill Knight is easy to pick up and hard to master, but it's rewarding to do so thanks to the wealth of unlockable weapons and more that are on offer. Most importantly, it's devilishly fun to play, being fast-paced, responsive and full of variety.

I had a blast with KILL KNIGHT and plan on playing it much more as I climb the leaderboards higher and higher; what a great shooter!

Kill Knight’s merits lie in the varied combat, aesthetic appeal, and replayability of the game. High difficulty, limited progression, and repetition in some areas may be drawbacks to this experience. If you're one of those who enjoys games where reflexes are put to the test and you can enjoy short sessions with an adrenaline rush, then Kill Knight may be a great choice.

KILL KNIGHT is an enjoyable and fast-paced action experience that avoids the attention struggles that I face in our digitally-dominated society. From the very beginning of the game, it had my full attention with gut-wrenching visuals in cutscenes and easy-to-learn but deep combat mechanics.

Kill Knight is a game that will kick you to the curb if you aren’t paying attention. It’s hard as nails but never unfair. If you die in a run, you just need to dust off your guns and do better.

KILL KNIGHT is an exciting bullet hell romp that challenges you to master its mechanics and descend through the circles of hell, prompting you with greater difficulties and higher scores to beat as you go.

KILL KNIGHT is a very good game that takes the well-known single-player arena shooters to an isometric view and does it together with a perfectly fitting graphic style and soundtrack. If you are a fan of fighting for the top spots on the leaderboards or long hours of massively knocking out opponents, then KILL KNIGHT is definitely for you.

Like Mullet Madjack, Kill Knight is a fast-paced indie release that succeeds through its basic premise and series of tools. As an undead Knight, you destroy everything that comes your way while earning new upgrades that make the job that little bit easier. Its level design is very similar across its five environments, and its enemy variety is thin in ways where you might take notice, but the gameplay always shines and makes it a very visceral experience that gets more engaging with every new bloody run.
