Accessible, witty and nice-looking racing game, that is excellent especially in its multiplayer part.

As an arcade racer, it 's possibly the most fun you can have with the laws of physics. Some may be put off by the lack of a more competitive race mode, but for the majority, this colourful, simple and above all, addictive game is one of the most enjoyable racers to hit consoles in quite some time.

It's got the speed, but not the finesse

Nadeo have succeeded in turning people who normally wouldn't care about breaking records on a track into drivers that do. Trackmania Turbo's biggest strength comes from the restart button, located right on the front of the gamepad (or just above the directional keys if you are playing on a keyboard). You know when you've messed up and you can easily turn to the 'just one more go' button that allows you to start over again. It doesn't take long before you end up hammering on that restart button for hours on end.

Trackmania Turbo is an amalgamation of arcade racers from over the years, and the attention to detail really shines through.

As with so many games, TrackMania Turbo has mistaken large headline grabbing numbers on the back of the box as a good thing. Stripping away a lot of the flab, leaving you with less tracks, would have played far better to the games strengths.

Trackmania Turbo is a gem of a title that incorporates tight and responsive gameplay with longevity and replayability. You can spend a long time trying to attain all the gold medals, but it will be worth it.

Trackmania Turbo combines the thrill of arcade racing with the addictive short-form challenges of games like Trials. The track design is exemplary, if seemingly intentionally designed to elicit the maximum possible amount of frustration from players, and the pick-up-and-play nature of the game makes the barrier for entry incredibly easy.

TrackMania Turbo is missing some crucial features from the past PC iterations, however the core formula of racing for times on crazy tracks is intact enough to still provide some basic fun.

Trackmania Turbo isn't substantially different from other games in the series: it's polished, fleet, and enjoyable. That makes it a great purchase for long-neglected console players, but it offers less to series veterans on PC.

In the end, Trackmania: Turbo is a beautiful game that tries to set itself apart from the pack. It's definitely better than most, and it's clear that Nadeo have become rather accustomed to making these games. As the first TrackMania to make its way onto the PlayStation 4, I do recommend it if it is your genre of choice. But note that, thanks to the uninteresting campaign track designs, how long the game can hold your attention for is definitely proportionate to how much time you might be willing to pour into the track editor.

Trackmania Turbo is the latest iteration from a bizarre genre, a racing game but with a roller coaster or Hot Wheels style, it is also its first appearance on consoles. It has sparked controversy among its fans.

Though not quite the perfect package, Trackmania Turbo's strong community and solid gameplay should keep racing fans coming back for more.

In addition to Trackmania Turbo's single-player campaign, you can enjoy a race variation where two players work in unison to control one car. There's also local multiplayer racing and action-packed online multiplayer modes, including one where 100 players race ghost cars against each other. Add the deep track creator to the surrealistic mix, and the result is a fantastic racing game that will keep players coming back for short doses of fun-filled mayhem!

Trackmania Turbo brings its unique blend of thrill ride, arcade and puzzle racing to current generation consoles, and purely speaking about gameplay, is probably the best title in the series – it's certainly turned into my favourite of the bunch.
