Monster Hunter Wilds Reviews
Monster Hunter Wilds is the ultimate reward loop. Chasing after the next piece of armor or exploring with other hunters has rarely been more satisfying. It has improved in almost every aspect over its predecessor and is really only held back by the story and performance.

Monster Hunter Wilds is a great game that takes the series a step further after World and will provide an enjoyable hunting experience for both new players and experienced veterans.

The world is more dynamic than ever, the new mechanics streamline the hunt, and the monster battles remain as thrilling as ever. But in making the game more accessible, Capcom may have taken away some of the brutal charm that made Monster Hunter such a unique and rewarding experience.
Consider me a Monster Hunter convert. Wilds is a great entry point to the series for someone like me who’s never really gotten into it in the past, but there’s plenty of depth and nitty gritty here that fans will no doubt find enjoyable to get into. A lengthy and enjoyable campaign leads into a vast end-game that will keep me coming back for some time yet.
Monster Hunter Wilds is an excellent new installment that maintains the essence of the franchise. We will once again hunt imposing creatures in larger and more vivid environments than ever, we will also have interesting new features such as the Seikrat mount and a redesigned combat system with new movements and combos for our weapons and a new Precision mode, to direct our attacks at will and manage to do massive damage to our prey. The narrative now has greater importance in the first stages of our adventure, making the proposal more friendly for novice players. Although it may sound cliché, Capcom does not fail with Monster Hunter, and except for some minor issues, there is no reason why Wilds should not be a new success.

With its compelling monster designs, riveting fights, and amazingly lush world, it’s bound to thrill and fill players with intrigue and wonder as they smoothly and effortlessly traverse beautifully crafted environments on their Seikret mount.
Monster Hunter Wilds feels like a true evolution of the series, maintaining everything that gives it it's identity but tweaking multiple elements to improve and streamline systems.
"Monster Hunter Wilds" is the current high point of the success story, proving that Capcom has always kept an eye on the community's wishes, but is not afraid of innovation.

Monster Hunter Wilds may have had a bit of a slow start, but it became one of my favorite experiences afterward. The game retains what made it a sensation after World and adds some great new mechanics to keep the long, arduous hunts engaging and exciting. The world and quests feel dynamic with one of Monster Hunter's best stories. While I don't play this series for the story, some parts were quite intriguing. It's an addictive gameplay loop with fantastic progression that only gets better the more you play, and it's truly a joy when playing with others. Even with some of its low points, Monster Hunter Wilds has become one of my favorite games that I have ever played, which had me addicted to grinding and getting more and better materials to master what it took to hunt monsters and make myself more powerful. If you have a more powerful PC or console like a PS5, this is a must-have game.
The unbridled force of nature runs wild and relentless, with environments transforming drastically from one moment to the next. This is a story of monsters and humans and their struggles to live in harmony in a world of duality. PS5 version reviewed. Review copy provided by company for testing purposes.
More than two decades after its beginning, Capcom continues to show intelligence and sensitivity in the way it advances one of its most venerable series.

Monster Hunter Wilds is the most accessible, grand, and finely-tuned adventure in Capcom's illustrious series to date. It's a blast to play and explore, and the new mechanics make it a fantastic first introduction for a whole new generation of monster hunters.

Capcom has done it again, taken a series and taken it to the next level without compromising its essence. The simplification of various processes and the introduction of new concepts that streamline the experience in an open design at 60fps make every hunt more exciting.

Monster Hunter Wilds has everything it takes to be a Game of the Year contender. It masterfully refines the series’ essence, delivering the most exhilarating and weighty hunting action yet. While the increased system requirements may be a hurdle, the sheer enjoyment makes it well worth the effort.

Monster Hunter Wilds is a great entry in a fantastic franchise. While there are a lot of mechanics to consider, the game’s tutorials should help most new players to quickly acclimate and join the upper ranks of hunters in no time. A full-fledged, cinematic, occasionally surreal, campaign whisks players from biome to biome, with a meaty play time of 40-50 hours just for the main story, and probably hundreds of more hours to get to 100% completion, there is plenty of content to keep hunters entertained for a while to come. Monster Hunter Wilds comes highly recommended for gamers of all types, but especially RPG fans or fans of the series.
As if it were any question, Monster Hunter Wilds, simply put, is peak Monster Hunter and also its most accessible and confident entry yet. Capcom has hit a home run here, and the game is easily a rather strong Game of the Year contender this early into 2025. Monster hunts are exhilarating, further enhanced by the new techniques like Power Clash added to the game. Both offensive and defensive playstyles are rewarded, and weapons have new intricacies that add depth to an already deep game. That said, newcomers should not be intimidated because Monster Hunter Wilds has an excellent onboarding system that offers a smooth and gradual difficulty curve until it throws you off the edge come High Rank.
Monster Hunter Wilds is the best Monster Hunter game yet. A true technical spectacle that allows players to explore a living, breathing, and always changing world.
Monster Hunter Wilds takes what makes the series great — hunting monsters — and evolves it in almost every way. The monsters are bigger, smarter, and more varied than ever before... Wilds is the best the series has ever been.
Monster Hunter Wilds is a tough recommendation in this state. It needs more content, more work and polish. It stands in the shadow of the brilliant Monster Hunter World as a lifeless, uglier sequel that almost feels rushed and incomplete. While the general gameplay feels excellent, the game is often bogged down its uninspired regions and weak monster roster. Yes, there's a dedicated campaign this time around but it is forgettable.
Monster Hunter Wilds is the Hollywood blockbuster of the franchise – exciting, streamlined gameplay and awesome new Bloodborne-esque monsters impress, but it also feels like a step back from World in some ways.
