Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Reviews
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is a brilliant RPG that's uncompromisingly itself. Difficult, mucky, and bloody, it's an excellent realization of the promise of the first game and a coming-out party for Warhorse into gaming's top tier.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is the perfect case of when any high score doesn't really clear the picture. Is a 9 simply too high of a praise? One may say so. While another would say that even a 10 just don't do this game enough justice.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is a resounding success, delivering one of the most believable game worlds ever, layered with compelling quests, small and large alike, and enhancing the already interesting systems introduced in the original. With multiple systems layered to immerse you in the game, as well as an intriguing story and excellent polish, it makes for one of the more captivating open world RPGs.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will inspire anyone willing to afford it patience in this regard, and they'll be rewarded by an open-world game with so much more to offer than cut-and-paste fetch quests and dungeons. It's a real-deal action RPG, an elegant European history lesson, and a solid simulation whose boundaries are worth testing and teasing until they break.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is more ambitious, more polished and more narratively complex than the first game. It’s an impressive achievement that moves the unique franchise significantly forward.
Though not without some flaws inherited from the previous game, Warhorse Studios has nonetheless done it again with Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. An eye-wateringly authentic, historical open world RPG that will utterly take over your life with its evocative depiction of Medieval Europe and frequently hilarious side quests, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is the single most immersive medieval power fantasy there is and the first essential RPG of the year.
In whatever way you look at it, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is a remarkable achievement. Taking place within one of the best realised, most immersive video game settings I’ve ever had the pleasure to explore, I commend Warhorse Studios for sticking to its guns, while not applying every lesson learned from the feedback and criticisms of the original game, finding a way to smooth and expand on them so that they make sense within a sequel that is far more ambitious.
Fortune favours the brave, the family motto of the noble Capon line and the creed of developer Warhorse Studios. In daring to deliver its singular vision for a game, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 transports even the most grizzled genre veterans back to a time of truly immersive video game experiences. Challenging, uncompromising, and thoroughly engrossing, it's in a league almost entirely of its own.
KCD2 is a huge medieval RPG that carries all the strengths and a handful of rough edges of its predecessor, integrating them into an incredibly realistic world and epic narrative. It expands, refines and enriches the legacy of the first chapter in an excellent way in practically every way, so for those who appreciated KCD it is a must-buy.

It’s obvious a lot of love has been poured into every facet of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. If you found combat in the first game too difficult or the survival mechanics tedious, then the sequel’s streamlined gameplay might not be enough to change your mind. However, if you were a fan of the first game, there’s so much to enjoy here. It’s clearly the game Warhorse wanted to make back in 2018, and it’s been improved in so many small ways. Bigger and better, it’s a must-play. Aside from some clunkiness and the odd tedious mission, it’s hard to find another game that so expertly combines realism and fun, with tough but satisfying combat, a morally ambiguous but grand story, and a faithfully recreated medieval world brimming with stuff to do. It’s the sequel fans wanted, and I feel quite hungry for more.
Warhorse Studios has delivered an excellent RPG and sequel. Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is a near total package, with great writing, acting, and a level of immersion that will have you running down every single quest in fear of missing out on a special moment. Frankly, I will be shocked if it's not in the awards conversation at the end of the year.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is not always fun, but man is it always great.
As an entire package, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has it all. The game looks great and runs superbly save for the random bugs, but more importantly, all of the promise from the first game appears to have been realized with this sequel. It offers varying degrees of nuanced storytelling with levity provided by smart quest design, and an opportunity for players to truly live in another world, enjoying everything there is to offer and ultimately, to lose themselves as Henry, the unlikely hero.
If you decide to get involved with Kingdom Come, you should definitely take your time. Because once it has sunk its claws into you, you will disappear into the Middle Ages for a long time.

Those who enjoyed the first installment definitely have to buy it, since they are being given dozens of hours of content, in addition to adding more chapters to the lore that was left on a cliffhanger with the first chapter. On the other hand, if you've never played a Western RPG, I'd say tread with caution, as it's not as accessible; It is for those who already know this style of play.

If you loved the formula of the first opus, you will certainly not sulk your pleasure on this one. For beginners, however, you will have to show a little self-denial at the beginning to then fully appreciate the great strengths of this "historical" open-world RPG, which is truly unique in its category, even if a little too familiar compared to its big brother.
