Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Reviews
With cinematic flair straight out of the original movies, MachineGames proves it understands the world's most iconic Nazi-fighting archeologist. With fun exploration, dangerous puzzles, and a few twists up its sleeves, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is sure to satisfy the cravings of anyone eager for an old-school adventure.
Machine Games' "adventure-action" game is one of the most alluring experiences on Xbox and delivers one of the best games of the year.
We had a smile on our face from beginning to end while playing Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. As close as games can come to a genuine old-fashioned Hollywood blockbuster, it's also an incredibly rich adventure game stuffed to the gills with secrets to find.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is an excellent adventure/action game that features one of the best Indiana Jones stories, great level design that rewards exploration, and awesome ray traced visuals. This might just be the best game dedicated to Dr. Henry Walton we've ever seen.
A truly great blend, though, can appeal to more than just its target audience. If I can sit here after finishing the game and keep smiling when I think about Voss's eccentricities or the dumbstruck look on the faces of fascists taken by surprise, I'm pretty certain that most people can smile while playing it. The Indiana Jones franchise is blockbuster action tuned to its most gleefully magnificent possibilities, and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle chases that goal like there's a rolling boulder behind it. With that energy, any minor faults are easy to forgive.
Despite a bunch of bugs, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is really one of the best games of 2024, which in everything surpasses the last two films about Dr. Jones. At the same time, this is a return to the form for MachineGames.

It took a while, but in the end Fate of Atlantis can relinquish its sceptre: Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle is the best video game dedicated to the archaeologist with the whip, a true cinematic kolossal worth playing. Technically and artistically glorious, it shows some uncertainties on the side quests front that are not always interesting and some mechanics that could have been developed more wisely. Everything else is pure love for the world of Indiana Jones.

The Great Circle is an excellent time. The voice acting is great, the action is breezy and fast, and the whole game is quite beautiful. Plus the story has some serious hooks. Indiana Jones is all about globetrotting adventures, punching nazis, and solving gigantic mysteries.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle isn’t just a masterful execution of a licensed game. It takes everything that MachineGames has learned from the Wolfenstein series and The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay to create a deeply fun cinematic experience that explores Indiana Jones as a character and will really have you hooked as you take up the call to adventure.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is the best iteration of the character and easily the best thing Xbox has put out in years. MachineGames understood the assignment and nailed every aspect of the character while making it feel like a new entry in the movie/adventure series. The performances are stellar, the puzzles are amazing, and this easily worked its way into my best games of the year.
Coupled with several jaw-dropping set pieces and puzzles that left me scratching my head just enough that it never became annoying, this is about as enjoyable an Indiana Jones experience as one could hope for.
MachineGames has fully captured the essence of what makes the original Indiana Jones trilogy great, delivering a fantastic experience full of stunning detail that feels like you are living through one of those 80s Indy adventures. With great characters, amazing graphics, and a stellar story, this game sets a new bar for how to adapt a franchise and give fans a new experience that would otherwise be impossible. A few minor bugs here and there, but otherwise a stellar achievement. Keep 'em coming.
MachineGames sure loves taking it to the Nazis, and Indiana Jones was a natural fit for the team's next game. I'm happy to report that they've added a fine entry to the franchise, warts and all.
It all, again, depends on who Indiana Jones is to you. Great Circle is a wonderful Indiana Jones game if your Indy is a man keeping history sacred while jet-setting to beautiful remote locales with God, or gods, on his side. If your man is one who’s frequently outnumbered, outgunned, and outmatched by forces natural and supernatural, where every encounter may end in failure, you might still have a good time, but by and large, you’re digging in the wrong place.
From any perspective, this game meets and exceeds expectations. It features majestic audiovisual work and gameplay that invites you to be part of its universe. Without a doubt, it is one of the great surprises of this 2024, and best of all, it bears the seal of Xbox Game Studios.

Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle is a veritable love letter to the saga from which it draws its inspiration. The one that set the standard for all modern adventurers, whether in film or video games. A dinosaur, unearthed by Bethesda and MachineGames in the purest of ways. A true gem of fidelity, the game is packed not only with winks to ensure fan service, but also with details to integrate this new adventure with the cinematic saga. A success on every level, with Indy as real as life and total immersion. The only hitch is in the purely video game aspect. While the regions we visit are sublime, they're sometimes too vast for very little, and there's far too much filler in the way of collectibles. Indy may no longer be Nathan Drake, but he's not an old man either, and he's clearly not at his best in platforming or combat. Even the game's exploration drags on in a way that's hard to in 2024. The same goes for the lack of naturalness and life in the crowded, inhabited areas, and the completely out-of-date AI that breaks up the infiltration. Notable glitches, to say the least, in stark contrast to everything else. The fact remains that Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle is one of the best Xbox exclusives of recent years, a fresh and gripping adventure that fans would be foolish to overlook for the few glitches that will quickly be swept under the carpet, and rightly so.

'The Great Circle' gives us Indiana Jones as we know and love him - even from the first-person perspective. However, the combat system is a problem.

Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle is an action adventure of great depth, well worthy of the name it bears. Moving away from its “shooter” comfort zone, MachineGames has built a fresh and engaging adventure, embellished with a maniacal attention to detail and supported by a palpable passion for the original material.
